  • Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen all head to the sideline in the 4th quarter of game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals in an emotional moment as the Heat fans recognize what could be the last time we see all three players in a Celtics uniform, marking would could be the end of an era in Boston basketball.

The last 10-14 years have had some god awful officiating. I am not gonna say it's absolutely rigged, but the officiating sure makes a lot of people wonder.

    Celtics were 15-17 at the All-Star break, finishing 24-10 after that (3rd best in the league down that stretch). Older, depleted with role player injuries and the starters themselves banged up, they were somehow one win away from the Finals. They gave absolutely everything and it was tied going into the 4th of this game. You can see in their faces how much they wanted it, they just finally ran out of gas in the last 8 minutes of the series. LeBron and company almost lost to these old dudes and then flattened the young favored Thunder 4-1. Shows what a difference veteran stars make ☘️ this series was about how far Rondo could take them and prolong the impacts of Pierce, Allen and Garnett. Still imho the toughest series loss I’ve watched

That season they were 15-17 at the All-Star break and then here they were in June, one win away from the Finals. Even with their age they still took the Heat all four quarters of all seven games. Props to the Miami fans who applauded the Big Four for their final long fight as Doc took them out. Opposing crowd still recognized it was the end of an era.

      Miami? Yeah so was Boston lol... Kobe has stated just recently that Tony Allen was closer than anyone to becoming the "Kobe killer". We all know how good Paul Pierce has been defensively throughout his career. Rondo is one of the best defensive guards the league has seen in years, and KG won DPotY that season. Boston was a much better team defensively.

      I have to agree, even LBJ when he returned. I'm sure there were some morons booing but the majority of the people like the ovation presentation and cheered for LBJ not because he he pulled a fast one on Miami, but because we appreciate the 4 good years he gave us, and arguably the 4 best years of his prime career translating into 4 ECF and 2 titles. And that's after he plays the media and does the whole coming back home stuff, with a welcoming parade like if he was a real king, he let it all get to his head, he messed Miami's roster and long-term options, and played Pat Riley like a fool because pad wouldn't neal to him, and still Miami Fans were grateful

    Yeah the Celtics did get robbed in Game 2. Like you're telling me Wade is allowed to hit another player on the head like he's playing wack-a-mole? I was so pissed. That's the only game I was honestly pissed about. I feel we could've won game 6 in Boston if we played the way Celtics are capable of. Problem was injuries and age for the Celtics. The playoff run was amazing and unexpected to most Celtics fans. And I've been watching the Celtics for years don't call me a bandwagon. I wonder where all these Warriors and Clippers fans are coming from. I'm watching the Celtics this year and just hoping we make it to the playoffs. Being a bandwagon doesn't make sports fun. When you pick a team stick to it. By the way people wanna talk about LeBron's amazing game. Let's talk about how Rondo scored 44 POINTS in Miami. Miami should've won this series they had the better overall team (heatlh wise). And people are going to say "LeBron scored 45 in Boston though". Yeah, but Rondo VS LeBron on overall scoring? LeBron all day. Bullshit calls, injuries, and Celtics not making key plays down the stretch. Kept us from hanging #18 on the rafters.

    • @TremainBell
      @TremainBell 8 лет назад +1

      +Adam Terry You're absolutely right! Game 2 costed us the series. Yeah we should've closed in game 6, but that Game 2 ending made me so upset. I will never forget this series. I graduated high school in 2012 and I had mentioned how the Celtics beat the Heat in my speech, but when we lost I had to to take it out of my speech a few days before. Even Magic Johnson said in the studio after how Rondo's performance was amazing and how Wade fouled him. I couldn't believe they didn't call that. Everyone was down that year. Pietrus and Allen sufferd from bone spurts in their leg causing them to shoot low percentages. I believe Greg Steimus was on this team and he was injured. The whole roster was depleted. This team had no business going into the 4th quarter of Game 7 all tied up with that Heat team. But in the end they just ran out of gas. It was too much..but the thing you can always appreciate about the Boston Celtics is that they all try their best.
      I can't wait to see my team raise another banner! Anythings Possible!

    • @adamterry6307
      @adamterry6307 8 лет назад +1

      +Tremain Bell You're so right. Like if we have a healthy Allen, that series is ours. And that foul was so obviously. You can't miss that! I'm feeling really optimistic about us this year. We are not a championship team (I love the enthusiasm), but I can see us anywhere between 5-8 seed in the East. We have competed well and don't usually get blown out. Going to be a good year and really looking forward to at least a run to the semifinals.

    • @TremainBell
      @TremainBell 8 лет назад

      +Adam Terry Yeah me too. I can't stand how people take us for a joke nowadays this is a good team! I was actually at the game on Monday against the T-Wolves. It was nice to see KG even though I wish I could've seen him play...Man I love this team with everything. When they won that championship when I was 13 it brought life back to the city! I want to experience that again! Danny Ainge has to bring us some talent this upcoming season so we can start competing again because every time I see Paul Pierce (My favorite player) on the bench of the Clippers I get so upset. This would've been the season he passed Halevick for the all-time team record. If that trade doesn't translate into a championship it was all for nothing.

    • @adamterry6307
      @adamterry6307 8 лет назад

      +Tremain Bell Bro, I love The Truth! And it's so sad. Like Pierce isn't bad. He isn't a bum who's not producing. This guy hit so many game winning shots last year! If they played Cleveland, I think it would've been an epic series. And bullshit to the people who say he couldn't match up with LeBron. Pierce has killed LBJ in all time meetings. But yeah seeing him at the end of the bench is sad. And to be honest we have so much depth. Are team is so equal and we are one big time player away from being a legit playoff team. Like that center spot is questionable. I honestly feel like everyone is happy to be on the team too. And I love Brad Stevens. Jae Crowder is seriously underrated and makes a contribution for us every night! Amazing young team poised for great things.

    • @TremainBell
      @TremainBell 8 лет назад

    This series was in a way the grand NBA final, imho. An epic rivalry that went to 7 games. Pure nailbiter. Oldies vs Youngsters (in a way), lots of prestige involved. Loved every single moment of it.

    I know they won a cahmpionship in '08 but the thing ill be most proud of from this celtics team was this series. Nobody gave us a chance we pushed the eventual champs to the brink. I went to game 6 at the garden up 3 games to 2 and on the jumbotron they had every espn experts picks and every single one of them had miami. The crowd was going nuts they had dont stop believing blaring on the sound system. Just an amazing moment and team. I am a Celtic.

    Man! I remember this. By far my favorite series from playoffs last year. It's always great to play and win against the Cs. Know why? Because Coach Spo and Doc Rivers know how to coach against each other so freaking well. Can't think of two NBA teams that know how to play each other as well Boston and Miami.
