Saudi Arabia has the Oldest Standing Church on Earth?

- Опубликовано: 28 авг 2019
- Where is the last place you'd think to find a church? How about one of the oldest standing churches? Well located in the desert outside of Jubail, Saudi Arabia sits a piece of history!
Built around the 4th century is an Eastern Christian church that was discovered in 1986 when somebody got stuck in a sand dune and dug up one of the walls. Today, the church sits inside of a fence next to one of the many oil refineries in the area. Jubail, Saudi Arabia is the World's Largest Industrial City that covers around 390 square miles.
Unfortunately, there just isn't much information on this church anywhere online. After extensive research we were able to find maybe five websites that had some information on the church itself. As a warning, any information regarding the actual layout of the church is purely speculation based on modern churches and our guess. So please do your own research to come up with your own conclusion as this is just our opinion.
Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia

It is natural to find many churches in Saudi Arabia. The Christian religion came from the Middle East. I'm sure there are many churches and temples. Not discovered or destroyed by time. Our ancestors believed in heavenly religions such as Judaism and Christianity.
فهد yet your religion expelled Jews from Saudi Arabia and Christianity is not allowed in Saudi Arabia
@@covfefe1787
Regarding the story of expelling the Jews, they are betrayed by the covenant and agreements and do not defend them as the blind. I told you that they are a major reason for the disappearance of the Christians here and the story of the burning of the Christians in Najran, the Jews who did.
@@covfefe1787
Yes, this is my religion, Islam is monotheistic, and we are proud of it. If our ancestors were Christians, then we are on the religion of Christ Jesus, and not on the faith of Roman pagan. Our ancestors converted to Islam because he was monotheistic from the Lord. Christian Jews are the ones who burned them and search for the story of Christ Najran before you utter an ignorance of defending the Jews as the blind and they are a main reason for killing Christians here. Do you understand?
Musaaud Al-hawaly it’s against the law the only religion by law is Islam and apostates are dealt with execution it is estimated that there are as many as 3 million hidden Christians in Saudi Arabia and about another 3 million atheists or agnostics finally Saudi Arabia will allow a catholic church to be build in Saudi Arabia maybe they should start with a cathedral in Mecca just like there is a mosque in Rome and Jerusalem our holy sites your holy rock will be a huge tourist destination if you open up Mecca to non Muslims. Saudi Arabia is not 100% Muslim its 70% Muslim at most registered Muslims aren’t necessarily practicing Muslim either though the Christian population is growing with thousands of converts per year. If Saudi Arabia would recognize minority religions you would be surprised at the amount of your brothers and sisters are Christians and don’t have to hide it because of Islamic persecution
فهد
It has been narrated by 'Umar b. al-Khattib that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:
I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim.

God bless the church of the East ( the Assyrian church). The place that you said a statue of Jesus might have been located is the place for the cross to be located because the Assyrian church has never used statues in its buildings and all of prayers are said facing a cross

According to Quran chapter 9 verses 28 & 29 the Christians and Jews were kicked out of Saudi Arabia
Your source? Because Quran never said that, Actually jews who were kicked from Hejaz, because they broke the covenant more than once, and they lived in south SA till 1948, and Christians tribes most of them accept islam and who didn’t, they immigrated to the North Arabia
Christian Arabs were in Najran and in the Ghassanid Kingdom near the Jordanian and Saudi borders, and they later converted to Islam.
As for the Jews, they were in Medina and Khaybar, and as a result of the many betrayals against the Muslims, many of them were killed and many expelled
it was arab christian and arab jews mean they follow judaism or christian
That what muslims do. Here is another reference I know -

The city of Jubail can make a lot if money from tourists for eternity if they maintain the place well and perhaps renovate it to help preserve it.

Ad-orientem Church Architecture of this earliest Church is interesting.
Reminds me of Syro-Malabar Church Architecture...
Marvelous
The structure was well preserved buried in sand for 1600+ years. Comparing your vid to photos from 3-4 sources 1986-2015 the progressive deterioration is obvious. My guess is the building was buried rapidly as it has been claimed that paper was found, along with wood doors, pottery. I’ve read Dr A.M.A, the project head archeologist, never filed a report, does he still have the data and artifacts? Does he know where these are located? The same Arab source said AMA believed the structure was 3rd Century.
