To be fair, Rythmind in 2019 beat people who had two devices across the competition with his MK1 alone. This battle he came with one device still but the MK2. I guess it is what it is. Also fun fact, Brez said that Rythmind told him after the battle that he felt weird saying what he said about Brez winning a competition for once, because Brez technically won more competitions than Rythmind on the loop but Rythmind won GBB
he used a second device in the next battle against the winner of sxin vs frosty(no spoiler thats why) but both are second device users

I agree about the headshot theme cliff. I had brez winning this one just because of what he did with the mk 1 is unbelievable, pushed it to limits we didn’t know possible.

this was one of the closest battles I have ever seen. I think Brez was really consistent all the way through and they were bangers. I think Rythmind won because he went second and had the perfect comeback and brought ACDC out of no where. But Brez has been around for a while dude, not a new looper at all. He started in like 2012 and has been to a lot of competitions but always ends up going against monsters and we don't see his full potential. But he did win the Multiverse competition and that was against Inkie. Big up to both, legendary battle
This was without doubt, the best loopstation battle at GBB21 and probably top 3 of all time. I remember watching it live and it felt like the final, everything after couldn't match this energy
i have it as my number 2. rythmind vs *redacted* (winner of sxin vs frosty) is number 1 for me personally. but this is definately the next best battle imo.

11:26 Brez says "so, the oscillator bot... oh wait, I don't have one." Rythmind used it in both his rounds (since he had MK2). I still give this battle to rythmind because of his consistency/creativity, also not often that you hear what was essentially a loopstation counter (his 1st round). In the livestream (and at the event I've been told) Rythmind sounded the best out of all the loopers (with bizkit in close 2nd) mix-wise: he's just very good at this shit (or the MK2 is super OP).
This is the best battle talk in loopstation history (second best is MB14 vs Slizzer)

rythminds "drumkit" is just so INSANE man. the sound is just straight up producer level
Brez only uses 1 device on stage. He’s a monster. He and rythmind are also good friends. That’s why brez was vibing so hard
a bit explanation on this:
1. MK1 is a regular loopstation that has been used for ages
2. MK2 is a pretty new loopstation that (at the time) was still a prototype
3. MK2 has a lot new features compared to MK1, such as the "sequencer" where you can program a sequence of notes and it will automatically tune a sound according to the programmed notes
4. Only some people got the MK2, notably the Kickback Battle (KBB) competitor and judges
5. Rythmind is one of the judges of the KBB, most likely because he won the 2019 GBB loopstation battle
and on the battle:
1. Brez starting up solid with a house music (cmiiw)
2. Rythmind responding with a round that has similar vibe
3. Brez starting the second round, and in the beginning he said something in French that translates to "an Oscillator Bot, oh no I don't have it" (an Oscillator Bot is a new effect on MK2). Just a little front
4. In the middle of his round he said "so you have a Sequencer on your machine, I have one too" then proceed to produce a sound like a Sequencer effect would produce
5. Brez attacking Rythmind again with that MK1 vs MK2 line
6. Rythmind responding Brez with the line "If you want the MK2, you have to win something once in your life", that refers to Rythmind getting his MK2 because he win GBB 2019
7. After saying that line, Rythmind dropping a sound that's produced with the Sequencer effect (the Thunderstruck riff cover) as a response to Brez's line earlier

What an insane first battle. I don't use the word "swag" much because it sounds kinda cringey, but man, Brez has the most swag out of any looper. That drop where he's sticking his tongue out is so dope, and it's insane what he can do with one device! Rythmind wins this for me still (just barely), but it feels weird with the 2 device situation. Most of the time, the device issue has been pretty clear cut (one clear winner), but this one felt like if Brez had another device, he could've crushed it. Idk just my opinion
This battle kept leveling up. One of the most legendary loopstation battles of all time.
Don't forget that Brez got 1st place (Loopstation) - Multiverse Beatbox Battle 2019 and also 1st place (Loopstation) - French Beatbox Championship 2018

At the beginning of the 2nd round, brez says in French "oscillator bot...ah no it isn't there" (mk1 vs mk2)
the most important factor with these loopstation battles this year is some loopers got to use the new MK2 Loopboard for entering a previous comp i think (promo gift) and other loopers are using a Mk1, was a little controversial for this years competition, Brez is using the older Mk1, from memory i know Rythmind/Bizkit used the Mk2 was a couple others too.. Massive difference in the new board.. brez talked about it in his YT channel just before the GBB comp

Rythminds comment didn't make much sense since Brez is 2 times French loop champion and more but most Importantly Rythmind didn't win anything to get the mk2 himself. I also do think Brez should have won this battle for several minor details but definitely since Rythmind had longer build ups with less content unlike BreZ, him rapping contributed to that heavily. Rythminds 2 most important drops ended abruptly because of time shortage. I Totally understand Rythmind winning but I do feel like BreZ deserved it more on this one.

Rythmind is legendary. his first round Headshot remix is actually a cover of jauz get to me. amazing cover tho! and AC/DC last drop was jaw dropping!!! surprise!!!! 🤯 got me so hyped!!!! I swear Loïc had to use his two strongest rounds for this battle.

yeah but tbf, he got that judge spot because he was the most recent loop champ.
Then why not add " you have to win gbb once in your life" and not just life, now that my friend is a lack of clarity which contribute to a mediocre front, the fact that we still need to decypher the message that is supposed to be clear from the start is not a good sign.

Okay let me explain a bit about Brez's other round, because what he did was insane. So Rhythmind has the MKII which is the new unreleased loopstation that has multiple new fx and features. One of the new FX is the sequencer, so you just program how the notes are gonna go beforehand.
What Brez did is when he did those single dotted notes in the beginning, he was recording them to a muted track, so he created his own sequence live, then he used the vocoder effect to be able to use the effect the same way Rhythmind used his sequencer. So it was not just a call out, it was also a show of how well prepared Brez was for this.

If you watch brez in his react video, he mentions that both of them knew the rounds they were going to use beforehand. Also brez has won a few competitions, just not GBB.
Gotta remember brezz is the only person in loop station battles that uses the old boss looper and only uses it 1. Everyone else uses never ones and they also use effects machines and other modulators. Rythmind was using an one that wasn't even realeased yet plat has everything been built in already. So brezz kills it because he's doing everything on his own no pre-recorded samples nothing but pitch control. He has the disadvantage but it's by choice which I respect alot about him. Like if you watch frosty his setup is insane like 3 loopers, 3 different effect machines so much but brezz comes in there old single looper and does just as much with basically nothing....
Bizkit also used only the MKI.

I've heard thunder struck covered in more genres than anything. From gothic industrial to bluegrass, a bit played out in my book and I don't believe it was that on point, sounded a bit off to me. I think brez had this one at least In originality, what was it the 2nd or 3rd time remixing headshot

Imo this is how I see it
The fact that BreZ and Rythmind's music sounded equally as good, while BreZ had a less powerful machine, tells me BreZ one this one
I'm vibing tf out with Rythmind, don't get me wrong, but I've used the MK2 myself and trust me the machine does everything for you basically. Hell I've been looping for almost 5 months only and I can nearly pull off the same thunder cover you heard here, and it's all thanks to the sequencer and oscillator bot.
At the end of the day, BreZ had to put in more work to get his song working, whereas Rythmind yelled "Ah" into a microphone and got a full musical number.

The sound quality of mk2 is SO much better than the mk1 thats why Rythmind had so much good reactions from the crowd and the bass was so good live
