Yup, ending it frequently is key but at the same time we didn't want to sacrifice kill speed. This strategy worked the best for me so far! Would be interested to know how you get on👍

@@chrisavithan9951 Awesome thanks for sharing that it worked for you! The Boss can only spawn in the bottom right or bottom left of the map. Either is fine. In the the run in this video we tried to hit as many towers at the same time too (e.g. if u hit 2 or 3 within a few seconds of each other when starting a new streak) over the course of the 10minute run this can make a difference
I really loved your video. Thank you so much for sharing. My team have been trying this but sadly we can't score over 4k. Would you mind to clarify where the focus of this strategy is? I kept working on my crusader strategy and build and eventually got it from under 500 shards to just over 3,000 as a solo player. When tempest came out I switched and had to start over. I currently have my average just over 2,000 solo. Other than gem farming I usually don’t tower with a group and the one time I did I got just under 4100 shards. I can see it shouldn’t be all that difficult to hit 5K to 6K with a little practice.
Cool video, that's pretty much the strategy we used back when towers first where introduced, but then we only got to reach 3k-ish scores. A we get stronger, we kill mobs faster in the tower so scores keep increasing. One thing to note, for the pre-farm preparation phase, instead of unsocketing gems and changing gear, just make a pre-farm build on the armory and change to that every time you finish the run and prepare for the next. You save so much time as you jump right in to prepare the tower after each run and no need to re-spec your abilities and skills.

Easy prep. Wait till the corruption is as high as possible. Do not kill the monsters in the safe zone. I did a run solo at 26% and there was hardly any white mobs at all, all blue and yellow and maybe 6 orange just in first lap.

My clan always had players who would consistently get 3-3.5k and in the past this was good enough to carry us through and claim all towers. Recently though the competition has been heating up on my server with clans pushing the limits with higher and higher scores. This week we didn't have a problem but it will be interesting to see how things are a few weeks down the line with this new system as clans get into alliances 😏 The funny thing is on some other servers they already have methods to reach even higher scores but for now there doesn't seem to be any public information available related to those strategies 😓

I understand why you're ending killsteak asap, but the amount of towers being skipped is so many potential shards as well. Curious how much testing you did with the killstreaks to see if it could be just as good, or even better, by going for a higher streak, and thus being able to hit more of the pillars on the way too, and then drop streak. I know the bonus amount of shards you get maxes out at a killstreak of 400, so obviously dont want to go over that, and the streak is easier to drop at a higher number as well. Yellow bar depletes faster. In my head, just makes sense to hit more of the pillars and get higher streaks granting more bonus shards, opposed to dropping asap with only 1 or 2 pillars hit each streak. There are breakpoints of where the streak drops more, i dont remember exact numbers, but something like a streak of 50 gives X amount, streak of 100 or 150 is next breakpoint, giving like 2X, all the way up to a streak of 400 giving the most. Just seems like it should work better to keep killstreak going a bit, allowing for more shards from extra pillars being hit, and just grabbing bigger bonuses from higher streaks. Also heard with 3 runners, instead of doing like a 2 in/2 out route, theres 3 paths being taken. Inside, middle/outside, and scorer runs with middle to stay close enough to inside and outside runners too, and get shards drom their kills as well. Inside and outside are spread too far for those runners to get credit from each others kills, but as long as scorer stays middle inbetween them, hes getting everything. Not expecting a whole new video on this, but would be curious to see if any of this increases your score. The main thing is having 3 teammates to run with all coordinating like you guys did here.
@WhyTry321 Yes, you explained it perfectly. If we take 50 to give x and 150 to give 2x. Then having 3 times of 50 killstreak would be 3x which is more that 2x. In practise though it is quite hard to keep ending your killstreak as soon as you reach 50 without sacrificing kill speed drastically. This was what started the idea for us to try runs with the scorer having greatly reduced damage. In that way he doesn't prolong his killstreak unnecessarily
@@WhyTry321we tested many runs (always with similar group setups) where we would stop taking towers/kills when the killstreak hits 400 or 150 breakpoints and unfortunately couldn't break past a 5k score. If there was a way to click all towers without having them reset the killstreak timer. Or if there was a way as the scorer to always end your killstreak instantly at your desired number rather than always waiting for it to expire (and risk it increasing as you kill) then there is definitely potential to improve this score! I think there's a chance the trick we're missing to reach 7 or 8k score is related to this
Yes, can be saved indefinitely now. Only the marks won't carry over to the next shadow cycle but XP and keys still count. I have assembly and shadow war mails saved over last 2 immortal reign changes

The more knowledge is shared on competition like this, the more a) competetive (eu highscores but also competition on every server) becomes (people generally like this) but also b) the more time consuming (people generally dislike this) the competition becomes. Compared to 4 people running in a circle for hopefully 10min 4x 4k Runs vs 4 different preps+run+collection. Sure you can merge the collection with the prep for the next, but it's a lot of coordination, saved builds (prep, kill, follow builds) and adds up in effort quickly.
There is still one thing I cant understand. I dont understand if shards are shared. I would swear I have seen other player to pick the shard, but my test shows some shard are not shared. That confuses me a lot and doesnt help to find the optimal strategy :)
All shards are shared as long as you stay in relatively close proximity to each other ! If I kill on opposite side of the map , my drops will not be shared with you!
I typically gravitate to "glass cannons" in these type of games. Demon Hunter or Wizard would mostly be my perference. DI is pretty special in that most classes (not just traditional "glass cannons") can achieve very high DPS if you build and optimize your character. It is a lot of fun to experiement from time to time and take up a new challenge. Both Tempest and Crusader are great classes. If you are pvp-focused then Tempest is imo still the best class atm with Barb being close behind. Crusader is an amazing class, unfortunately in the current PvP meta it has fallen off quite a bit. If you love PvE then it is for sure still one of the best classes. One of the most fun things you can do in DI is to ride around with your horse and explore the areas!
How about the other to members. Are they just running on the inside map and killing? Do they come out to outermap? Do they keep going when their time runs out?

They were always watching our position and running parallel to us. Same position but just on the inside as much as possible. They didn't come to the outside once during the run. They work together so they take very slightly different paths so that they can kill all the elites while maintaining the same pace as us. Usually if I called out that my killstreak was almost over at least one of them would make sure to position to a tower to be ready to press it. The other one would countinue killing but make sure he doesn't get too far ahead, sometimes he would also manage to find a tower himself which meant that we could hit 3 towers in quick succession to start the next streak
If you've got a set running on the inside wouldn't that make half the time orbs drop in the inner rings and be out of reach? How do you boost time with so many time orbs out of reach of the collector?
I do try to pick a few up on the way but I mostly pick them all up in the collection 3rd phase. Usually if you focus too much on picking you will start lagging behind. Staying with the team so that you are within their radius to get the shard drops when they kill monsters or click a tower seems to result in a better score in the end at least for this strategy

I see that you are not picking up all the shards when you’re running through, are they sent later when you turn them in?
