I'm disappointed that you didn't try to blow the whistles with the water jets stream. Otherwise the only thing wrong with the video is the lack of confirmation of that the whistles work. I not able to trust a product that has not been lick test certified.

That's what my friend, Chainsaw Bob ,who has a new partner every week, told me.
They are clearly meant for European hatchbacks with tiny 1.2L engines (like my car lol) and tiny exhaust outlets, and are clearly marketed at boy racers who want their tiny 1.2L hatchback to "sound good"
So they do work ?

I can tell you the guy who green lit the turbo whistle knows exactly what he was doing.
There needs to be some turbo whistles made on a lathe/mill to fit the larger exhausts!

i tried one of these on a mazda 3 and it actually worked better than i expected 😂 and the fact that it restricts the exhaust made it burble a bit
Just placed it on my mazda but didnt try to drive it just rew it a little bit, I mean it doesnt wistle but it kinda has stronger sound, how bout yours??
Air, just like water and electricity, is going to take the path of least resistance. If you don’t have a tight seal around the whistle, the air (exhaust) will just go around rather than through it. So basically, the whistle has to be about the same size as the pipe in order to work.
i think it might be a bit more complicated than that here. sure the size may help but i think it might also have to do with the exhaust pulses and firing order having to be just right
not sure anyone would spend the time and resources to find out though.

I had one of these on a ‘96 Miata with an all stock 1.8L engine. It definitely whistled until it vibrated loose and I lost it on the interstate. 😅
Probably ended up giving someone a puncture if it didn’t just disintegrate due to it being a little Poundland chavvy mod.

Can you guys get a sandblaster and use an old water jet nozzle and the air Cannon to try and cut stuff? wouldn't work as good, but at least it would be messy!

The fatal flaw in these whistles is that the sharp edge of the whistle should be offset further into the air stream and also they need a larger deeper air chamber on the actual whistle side. Ask me how I know.

As silly as it sounds I set out to make my bov on my car louder and more whistly. I started off by imitating the design of those exhaust whistles for the whistle part and had multiple prototype inserts that did not work. Then I started studying the actual design of real whistles that worked and noticed the two attributes I mentioned in my initial comment so then I altered my design and surprise they worked and worked well. Having a deeper larger chamber allows air to escape back out of the whistle faster so it doesnt cause a turbulence that blocks more air from entering and lowers the initial pitch of the whistle under slower air currents and allows the whistle to increase in pitch as air velocity increases. In addition having a rounded dome to the inside top end of the whistle chamber aids in the air circulating in and out of the chamber without causing further turbulence. If you look at a referees whistle you will notice the air chamber is round like a barrel. Now I will shut my nerd mouth up and sink back into silent shame for knowing so much about how a damn whistle works😆😅🤣
