This video is a review of the Waterman Expert Fountain Pen First Edition. I got this pen second hand, so I cannot speak for how well the nib works straight out of the box. The first edition is not in production anymore, but still can be bought new and secondhand through online distributers such as eBay. I hope you enjoy the video!

Spent a decent amount of time looking for the Waterman marque my 'rents gave me as a graduation gift in '94. And this is it; same colour, too, although mine is a medium nib. So happy to have been able to identify it.
I'm kind of a pen philistine (hey, only just learned that 'posting' is putting the cap on the top-- eugh) but have been writing constantly with this for the past five years .Everything you say gels with my experience, with the exception of the smoothness of the writing, but then again I have a medium nib. I find it sratchy... but this could be the paper, the ink, my manuscript-- who knows?

You convinced me of buying one I found several days ago XD
I have a special relationship with Waterman since my first FP was a Phileas Kultur, now I still have one that I bought when I was studying in France in 2004 which I recently dared to tune thanks to Matt Armstrong's guide, I even have a matching rollerball with a plastic case in the same color that my sister gave me before I bought the pen. They all bring me very nice memories of those days 😁

Haha I'm glad I could be of help! Oh wow! That's lovely. I am sure studying in France would be a great experience. I hope you are enjoying the pen! In my experience, Waterman has some of the smoothest writing nibs. In the words of my younger sister, "It is like writing on a cloud." :)

Good review, very informative! We have the Expert II chrome trim (metal body, urban blue) and we find it a good writer and a beautiful pen. Our other Waterman is the Carene black Sea gold trim which has the smoothest nib possible. We just found your channel and will certainly look at your other video's and subcribe.
