Fred, you were the soul behind the magic era of Taking Back Sunday. The contributions that you and Matt brought to the band are untouchable. I love watching your play throughs, keep rocking man.
I feel the same way man, would’ve been amazing to see that lineup keep moving forward together. Those two Fred and Matt albums are the best material TBS has put out in my opinion.
8th grade. Where You Want To Be being my favorite album since it’s release. I will never forget the anticipation and the waiting for this album. When this song dropped it was the anthem for the year man. I’ll never forget singing my lungs and heart out to this entire album. Fred thank you for all the memories, passion, and endless inspiration. Much love to you and yours brother.
Fred you helped get me through my teenage years when I wanted to give up. Now I’m a tattoo artist with beautiful children. People like you matter so much. Seeing you again made my day. Best wishes sir!
It’s 3am…I should be sleeping but the combined powers of RUclips and nostalgia bring me here. I wish more musicians would play through their music this way. There’s something truly special about getting to see it like this. It makes me want to bust out my old SG Special and relearn the song.
Every band of this era with their dual vocals that just work magically together then they break up and the band is awful following. This song is a staple. Thanks Fred for covering your old self!
I seen taking back sunday last night in Fresno.. it was regretfully terrible. That's why i am here Fred, you were such a huge part of what made the band. It made me realize that last night.
Man you were literally the backbone and soul in that peak era of taking back Sunday plus it’s insane how so much better your vocals have become in fact a lot better. Well done Fred well done
Fred, I am from Latin America and I remember with great affection and nostalgia your time on TBS, you marked the lives of many like mine with your raspy and melodic voice and your unique guitar intonation. We miss you very much. I am still listening to your new music...🎉🎉🎉
I saw you with TBS in February of 2007 at the EMU convocation center in Ypsilanti, MI. With Armor for Sleep and Underoath. I remember after the concert, on the car ride back one of my friends made the comment "Man, why do they even need Adam? They should just kick him out and let Fred sing all the time" and I agreed. Here it is all these years later and you are STILL singing better than either of the current dudes in TBS. Man oh man, you Matt and Eddie made that band special. Now they just sound like a bar band covering TBS songs. You on the other hand are still rocking and kicking ass at it!!
Fred was the definitive member of TBS. His back and forth vocals with Adam are stuff of legend. Oh and he shreds like crazy and is a lyrical genius. I want an SG because of Fred
Ive always liked Adams voice, especially in songs like this, but man Fred, you killed it with this. Its nice to hear YOUR voice front and center. Also, killer guitar.
So much nostalgia. Coming home from school and turning on Fuse. Dancing around the house and singing this song. Seven Nation Army wasn't an anthem yet. It had just came out. Good times. Dial-up internet had just gone out the window, but in-home Wi-Fi wasn't a thing yet.
I literally just finished watching Taking Back Sunday live at Reading Festival 2006 video, you sound incredible back then and you sound as incredible now! love all of your videos Fred!
I met Fred after a The Color Fred show in Honolulu Hawaii - 15ish years ago - and he was the coolest guy ever (and the sound was great). I was fortunate enough to meet many musicians after shows as Hawaii is a small place. Fred was the coolest and I asked questions about what happened with him and TBS and he was really upfront and cool about it. Love ya Fred! Rock on buddy!
This literally takes me back to the mid 2000s in every possible sense. The nostalgia (can we say that now?) is real! Thanks for posting this Fred. Your guitar playing and vocals got me through a lot back then and continue to do so now.
Incredible musical talent aside. Fred might be one of the nicest and most humble people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. His enthusiam and love of music really shines through in every musical project he is involved in. From producing, writing, performing, all of it.
I remember when you got the name “the color Fred” in the MySpace days. Dear god I feel old, grateful this popped up in my feed. I haven’t even listened to TBS in years, your voice sounds better than ever!
Wow. Fred.. so great hearing this and seeing how you still totally rock it. Sounds GREAT! Sure miss those days of the band. Thanks for sharing. Maybe someday it'll all come back around again. The 20 approaches.
Your vocals were always my favorite back in the day. I recently went back and watched a bunch of taking back Sunday live performances, and you killed it every time. Times change and people move on. Nothing wrong with that. I’m just so happy I got to experience the music you guys made during such an amazing time for music.
I love this. Thank you for the memories, Fred. I got to hear this album a little early while I was at rehab with Adam in January ‘06. It blew my mind. Still my favorite album.
Damn Fred. It’s so funny because growing up me and my sister listened to TBS religiously. She would never let me sing lead vocals only your back up vocals so it’s awesome getting to hear it like this 😆😆 you still got it!!!!
I did not expect to be blown away by this. Holy cow. You, sir, are an absolute legend. Louder Now is my favorite album. Thank you for literally crushing it for the entirety of my teenage years.
This my favorite TBS record, and its honestly because I love your vocals on it. You and Angus Young are also the only 2 guitar players that have ever made me want an SG
Fred’s still got it. Loved this and loved this album from back in the day. Truly talented musician. Wish I could see your band at the end of the month. Safe travels. ❤
My hero right here. Your TBS gig in Liverpool Student Guild circa 2005/06 will always be one of my faves. If you ever do a community style medley I'm in. Keep these coming ✊
Louder Now was a HUGE inspiration for me growing up. This song is one of the first songs we rehearsed and performed at our high school in our smalltown with 3400 inhabitants, (39 people on the show). We ended up signing to a label that signed our homeland heroes Millencolin back in the days (Burning Hearts Records) and it was a BIG THING for us. NEXT ONE: YOU go with 'New American Classic'. Just wanted to send u some Love from Sweden, thank u Fred
This was so awesome to see and hear, You sound amazing Fred. 🤟 This song brings back so many good memories, I can't wait to see The Color Fred here soon! Much love. 🖤
U are the piece of the group that connected me to the music. And seeing u doing these arrangements help me deal. (I was always the rhythm guitarist haha)
I'm 27 and just found out about this song this year and it's one of my favorites now! I was listening to this and when you said you helped record it I was so pleasantly surprised! Your vocals on this cover were really great! Can't wait to hear more stuff from you.
I love John Nolan, but Where You Want to Be is a masterpiece.
@@MoshFitOnline Same. Love John, he’s fantastic and an absurdly talented songwriter, but WYWTB will probably always be my favorite TBS record. 🔥❤️
Matt is killing it with angels and airwaves! I believe you're referring to Matt rubano
Obviously!! 🙄
this is a certified hood classic
It’s your vocals that separates TBS from other bands in the genre! You’re a legend.
Please tour with taking back Sunday again they desperately need you
8th grade. Where You Want To Be being my favorite album since it’s release. I will never forget the anticipation and the waiting for this album. all these years later...still got it!
Thanks for still being here 🙏
God damn. Vocals honestly sound better than the record here, and the playing is as tight as always. Bravo Fred, this is legend shit 🏆👊
The best era of TBS. I was 15 when this album came out. I remember getting an SG because of you. Thank you for everything Fred.
Fred was the best part of TBS.
I was 15 when I found them too. It was 2022 tho😢
Fred you helped get me through my teenage years when I wanted to give up. Now I’m a tattoo artist with beautiful children. People like you matter so much. Seeing you again made my day. Best wishes sir!
I never take that lightly. Thank you so much for sharing! ❤️
TBS needed Fred at When We Were Young in Vegas 🤘🤘
Im still waiting for the day they bring fred out on stage as surprise guest vocals.
I think the harmony on the vocal line “violent red” is the coolest. Always loved that part @ 1:26
Thanks for noticing. I love singing that line too!
Man Fred still sounds the same. I got chills
It’s 3am…I should be sleeping but the combined powers of RUclips and nostalgia bring me here.
I wish more musicians would play through their music this way. There’s something truly special about getting to see it like this. It makes me want to bust out my old SG Special and relearn the song.
Just saw TBS at when we were young and man, they really are nothing without you. It was pretty painful to watch.
Every band of this era with their dual vocals that just work magically together then they break up and the band is awful following. This song is a staple. Thanks Fred for covering your old self!
TBS’s first three albums are their best.
Freaking love this! The band is just not the same with out you. Your vocals just take the music up to a different level.
🙏🙏🙏
Fred from all the 90's kids, you are our hero
I seen taking back sunday last night in Fresno.. it was regretfully terrible. That's why i am here Fred, you were such a huge part of what made the band. It made me realize that last night.

Fred you really were the best part of TBS.
Those initial notes can touch anyone's soul if you lived this song back in the day. ❤
I saw you with TBS in February of 2007 at the EMU convocation center in Ypsilanti, MI. With Armor for Sleep and Underoath. TBS never were the same after your departure. Love you Fred, what a voice and guitarist. Bless you.
Band was never the same without you. So incredibly talented.
Fred was the definitive member of TBS. His back and forth vocals with Adam are stuff of legend. Oh and he shreds like crazy and is a lyrical genius. I want an SG because of Fred
The track that got me into TBS. Saw you guys in Orlando in 05 with RJA and AFI. I became a fan after that
as someone who always wanted to replicate your backing vocals, this is the channel i didn't knew i needed
Ive always liked Adams voice, especially in songs like this, but man Fred, you killed it with this. Its nice to hear YOUR voice front and center. Also, killer guitar.

My wife and I would go on long road trips and this cd would be on repeat. Loooved singing our lungs out to this song
Love you Fred thanks for being a part of my life with the music you were a part of my guy 🤘
Much appreciated 🙏🙏🙏
How good is that 'how close is close enough!" 🤟❤️
I miss these TBS playthroughs

Youre the reason why I love TBS! Always excited to hear you singing 🙏
Heeeeell yeah, you do the BEST TBS covers for some reason! 🤔. 😉
This literally takes me back to the mid 2000s in every possible sense. The nostalgia (can we say that now?) is real! Thanks for posting this Fred. Your guitar playing and vocals got me through a lot back then and continue to do so now.

Still come back to this ❤
If I had even an ounce of your talent! After all these years Fred, still incredible. Appreciate the videos, keep them coming.
I really appreciate it 🤘🤘
Bless you Fred. Masterful and moving as always.
I remember when you got the name “the color Fred” in the MySpace days. Dear god I feel old, grateful this popped up in my feed. I haven’t even listened to TBS in years, your voice sounds better than ever!
Chills hit even harder with the nostalgia of nearly twenty years.
I’m sad I never got to see Fred-era TBS but I got to see The Color Fred at Warped Tour 2008 and it’s still one of the best live shows I ever saw!
Please don't ever stop making music
Fred era is the best era of TBS.
Damn Fred those vocals. Love your not just doubling him you do your own thing behind his vocals.
Holy shit this is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
what an era of TBS - you've still got it too
Louder Now gives me goosebumps all the way.. beautiful vocal harmonies between you and Adam, smart and sharp riffs and awesome arrangements 👏 👏
You should do a playthrough of miami. Your solo on that is one of my favorites from you.
My. God. As a massive fan for 20 years and this being in my top five favorite TBS songs, this is fucking GLORIOUS. ❤
Brought tears to my eyes. This one was super special. Thanks for this. We love you Fred!!!
Wow. Fred.. so great hearing this and seeing how you still totally rock it. Sounds GREAT! Sure miss those days of the band. Thanks for sharing. Maybe someday it'll all come back around again. The 20 approaches.
This was so, so good. Louder Now and WYWTB are my favorite TBS records. Oh the feelings seeing this right now
Your vocals were always my favorite back in the day. I recently went back and watched a bunch of taking back Sunday live performances, and you killed it every time. Times change and people move on. Nothing wrong with that. I’m just so happy I got to experience the music you guys made during such an amazing time for music.
Fred, you never cease to amaze me with what you brought to this era of Taking Back Sunday. It's one of the major reasons I got into making music.
I love this. Thank you for the memories, Fred. I got to hear this album a little early while I was at rehab with Adam in January ‘06. It blew my mind. Still my favorite album.
My only regret is never seeing them live while you were with them. Saw them in 2016 and it just wasn't the same. Love your work man.
omg Fred you still got it man. Vocals still strong after almost 2 decades.
Love to see that SG is still around! Saw it live at a show many many moons ago.
Damn Fred. It’s so funny because growing up me and my sister listened to TBS religiously. She would never let me sing lead vocals only your back up vocals so it’s awesome getting to hear it like this 😆😆 you still got it!!!!
The best version of TBS was with you Fred! 🤟 Loving these trips down memory lane you’re posting. 👌
Fred was always the back bone to tbs
Oh this one hit me in the feels 🥰
I honestly can’t see taking back Sunday without Fred. He’s a true musician and singer. He’s too good for them now in all honesty
I did not expect to be blown away by this. Holy cow. You, sir, are an absolute legend. Louder Now is my favorite album. Thank you for literally crushing it for the entirety of my teenage years.

A decade under the influence next for sure. the nostalgia is strong
My man you’re the best guitarist vocalist I’ve ever heard in my life
Somehow, I remember the house I was at and the people I was with when this song was uploaded to MySpace and I heard it for the first time.
Words can’t explain the place this song takes me to. Makes me both sad and happy. Truest feeling of nostalgia.
Fred is the truth. ❤
This Is the best way of cheering my Friday. Thank you Fred ❤
Have an awesome weekend!!!

You sound amazing Fred. 🤟
This song brings back so many good memories,
I can't wait to see The Color Fred here soon!
Much love. 🖤
Just learned you're going to be playing Underground Arts in Philly. I still remember Breaking Pangea at the Church.
