What would most likely happen next would be the reinstitution, or rather _modernization_ , of the Salem Witch Trials by the Muggle communities across the globe. There would also most likely be a number of executions ( _whether public or not_ ) of Witches and Wizards via burning at the stake, as well as many ( _if not all_ ) the other Medieval methods of torture and execution of Witches and Wizards by Muggles being brought back into practice within the modern era.

Upon thinking about it, I don’t think that Voldemort would try to conquer the world. One of his flaws was that while ambitious, he was also somewhat small-minded, as Dumbledore would point out. Recall how fixated he was on Hogwarts, and things that made an impression on him when he was younger and just entering the wizarding world. “That which he does not value, he takes no trouble to comprehend.” I think he would have spent his time building and refining his regime in the UK.

True, but no villian is ever truly satisfied with the power they obtain…
I would like to add that he wouldn’t think to rule over the muggles and would just want to completely isolate muggles from the wizard world; though the dark wizards would toy with muggles but keep the secrecy.

Yet other wizards - they would rather hide than come to open battle. Perhaps aiding muggles in upcoming wars. What I see is a direct hit to wizard's numbers, I think they would lose like two thirds of their numbers - and all over the world, with Europe suffering the most. Something about this feels a bit off. Voldemort was described as a brilliant tactician and strategist in the first war because he wasn''t so volatile and desperate yet. The prophecy changed him for the worst. He had so many different people on his side that were steadfastly loyal to him, and I wouldn't be surprised if that did include some muggles. You have to remember, as much as Voldemort puts up a front of blood purity himself, he is at his core a secret halfblood. His followers have no idea who he really is. During the second war he only really went specifically after the halfboods who wronged him, and avoided others unless they got in his way. The ones who were labeled "mudbloods" or muggleborns however were specifically targeted. I think he realized that the blood purity platform was the only way he was actually going to be able to keep his following and gain more in any way, but I'm not sure how much he actually believes in it considering he knows that he-himself is not a pureblood. I don't think he'd go for a pureblood eugenics program knowing what he's a product of. It wouldn't make sense. He's canonically brilliant. He knows the subject matter. It makes no sense.
His issue is a mix of his politics and his arrogance. I don't think he'd get far enough to get to a muggle war.

    • @darkalpha50
      @darkalpha50 Месяц назад

I think he hates that part of himself, he hates the fact he is a half blood, that's why he targets others that represent that imperfection. Because to be reminded of what he is, is to be reminded that his mother was what he sees as a failure and his father as a filthy lowborn muggle with no special abilities whatsoever, just another nobody. It reminds him he isn't all that special or perfect, and he hates that.

I think that it's quite realistic. Voldemort by this stage could be thought of as the dictator of the wizarding world and you just have to look at real life dictatorships to see that this has happened in real life. Have a look at the dictator of Turkmenistan in the 90s and 00s. Some of the actual things he did include making the second Sunday in August 'Melon Day' after his favourite fruit, rename the Turkmen word for 'bread' with his mother's name and renamed the names of the days of the week and months of the year. Voldemort actually looks kind of stable compared to this guy (fyi, I pulled the info from the dictator's Wikipedia page, there's lots of other crazy things the guy did, but I feel this is already getting too long.)

I have several issues with this theory.
    1. There were always more non-Death Eaters than Death Eaters so despite the power concentration and brutality of the Death Eaters it would have been difficult for them to maintain total control over the population.
    2. Voldemort and his Death Eaters were basically only operating in Britain and were drawn from the British Wizarding population. The Sacred 28 for example were the 28 British Wizarding families that had retained their pure blood status. Unless you assume that the global Wizarding population is lower than the Wizarding population of Britain (The Quidditch World Cup crowd would indicate otherwise) there is no reason to expect that Voldemort could conquer anything more than the British Wizarding World by defeating Harry Potter.
    3. Thanks to his horcruxes Voldemort was protected from death (though not immortal) and he was not going to share that secret with even his most loyal Death Eaters. He would never have allowed Bellatrix LeStrange to make a horcrux as it would have made her almost as powerful as Voldemort himself and that was not something that he would or could accept. So an international expeditionary force of Aurors and Wizarding Special Forces Commandos could have tracked down Voldemort's Death Eaters and eliminated every last one of them leaving him no army of enforcers to control the wizarding population let alone conquer or destroy the muggle population.
    4. Dumbledore certainly had insights into Voldemort that nobody else had, but if Harry Potter had been lost in the Battle of Hogwarts and Voldemort had tried to expand from control of Britain to control of the entire wizarding world the great minds of other wizarding nations would have been put to the task of figuring out how Voldemort had survived for so long and would have figured out the secret of his horcruxes. They would have then likely launched a massive effort either publicly or in secret to find and destroy the horcruxes and thus make Voldemort mortal and therefore defeatable.
Facing the entire wizarding world instead of just a British Resistance group made up for the Order of the Phoenix and Dumbledore's Army, the Death Eaters would have been overwhelmed and eliminated quickly.
Dumbledore might have been the only wizard that Voldemort ever feared, but that is because he never encountered the other brilliant witches and wizards around the world who were similar to Dumbledore in their knowledge and power. Even assuming that none of the others were fully on Dumbledore's level, between them they would have figured out the horcrux problem, found them, destroyed them, and rendered the All Powerful Lord Voldemort into the mortal Tom Riddle once again making it inevitable that someone rid the world of the would be tyrant.
The muggles would never even have to get involved. The wizarding population of Britain might have been able to defeat Voldemort without Harry Potter, but the combined strength and wisdom of the world's wizarding population would have wiped Voldemort and his Death Eaters from existence.
In the end Voldemort was a British threat, not a global threat and we the readers have long given him too much credit for the threat that he posed.

Eh he'd have a chance of expanding to Western and Central Europe, but then run into wizarding cultural road blocks, but yes on a whole he is very unlikely to become more than a regional despot, and expansion would become even harder each time as muggle born and lower purity flee to the wizarding worlds not under his control.

Voldemort's supporters were unknown and he bewitched many to betray their fellows which divided and conquered the whole wizarding world. They would never be tracked down.
Voldemort's horcruxes would never be discovered because the only reason why Dumbledore found out was because Harry gave him the destroyed dairy and the only reason why Harry was able to track them down was because part of Voldemort's soul was inside him.
You really underestimate Voldemort's intelligence and power... There is a reason why people worldwide did not dared to speak his name...

Didn't Hermione say that she assumes most Death Eaters to be halfbloods? I believe that Voldemort would organize something like this:
On top there would be families known to be Pureblood, obviously the surviving ones from the Directory but also the many who protested not being included in It (if they protested I must assume that they 1 have few muggles in the tree and 2 care a lot about blood status and are thus likely to support Voldemort and thus be prized by him with greater power). The most loyal and useful Death Eaters like Snape would gain equal or even greater status even if they were halfbloods. It's unclear to me how many generations of full Wizards you gotta have in the tree to be considered Pureblood, I assume at least all grandparents with none being Muggleborn and maybe not more than one or two being halfblood, because the Malfoy family is said to have halfblood relatives.
Below the Purebloods there would be Halfbloods. They wouldn't be mistreated most of the time, being the vast majority, but they wouldn't get to the top of the power unless they proved especially loyal to Voldemort. Marriage with Muggles or Muggleborns would be punished as a Crime Against Wizardkind. This way, Halfbloods would have to marry each other, and thus, overtime, their lines would be pure enough to marry the top powers, and the British magical community would finally become majority Pureblood.
It Is mentioned at one point that children of Muggleborns have been separated from their parents by the Registration Commission. I believe they would send this halfblood children to Voldemort-loyal families to be indoctrinated, basically like the Lebensborn Program in Nazi Germany or the child kidnappings in fascist Argentina.
Aside from Muggleborns, the prisons and camps would probably be filled with any Muggle present in the community (specifically Muggle parents of Wizards, accused of havibg stolen magic or of having filthed the blood of wizards), as well as Squibbs and anti-Voldemort opposition. Hostile species such as Goblins, Centaurs and Mermaids may well be relocated if not exterminated.

Considering how badly they were defeated back when black powder matchlock guns were the biggest threat, and the world operated on relatively simple feudal systems, the current (or 1990s) capitalist world with modern electronic devices, automatic precise weaponry and first drones, that would simply be far beyond their understanding or capabilities.
And when it comes to using imperious curse, they would first have to understand who should be the target. Which is again something they would not be able to figure out. Hell even muggles would mostly struggle to find out a correct target for some instant brainwashing...

The muggle militaries would form dedicated witch hunting units whose sole purpose would be to go around gunning down death eaters. They'd be trained to deal with magical opponents and have special equipment designed to resist magic. They might even figure out how reverse engineer magic and create their own pseudo-enchantments to protect themselves.
A war with the muggles would likely result in military raids on the ministry of magic and Hogwarts where all the wizards just get mowed down by machine gun fire before surrendering. It would be difficult to kill Voldemort due to the horcruxes, but all his followers would likely be imprisoned or dead so he'd pretty much be a non threat to society. I don't think it'd be that simple. For one, Voldemort is known for playing the long game. He wouldn't just throw himself at conflict without an advantage. He's arrogant, for sure, but he's not an idiot. Hell, the only reason the battle of Hogwarts happened in the last book was that he was forced into it by Harry looking for the last Horcrux. He went there unprepared and still would have won had it not been for Harry's sacrifice magically protecting everyone. He wouldn't just do battle with the muggles, he'd slowly overthrown them from the inside like he did with the Ministry of Magic.
Furthermore, remember that he had not just wizards at his disposal, but other magical beings and creatures at his disposal. Giants, for one, are incredibly resilient and all but one of them were on his side. Werewolves, acromantulas and pretty much every other dark creature would join him. Goblins might, at best, try to steer away from the conflict, but they might be lured in with the promise of better treatment than what the Ministry gave them. Domestic Elves under Death Eater families would simply not have a choice.
The worst of them all, though, would be Dementors. They would all thrive under Voldemort's rule and muggles have simply no way to fight them (even if they could see them, which they cannot). By the time Voldemort took the fight to the muggle world his following would be massive and muggles would be too worried by an unnatural feeling of despair to fight (when they weren't having their souls sucked away by invisible foes).
I'm sure there'd be resistance, of course, but I'd bet it'd take a few generations to get any sort of encouraging result. They'd have to be patient as well.

any Weaponry muggles create wizards can also learn and add magical features to what ever Weapons muggles have, cause i mean wizards are indeed humans as well so they too can comprehend the weapons no-majes use but for muggles they can not utilize magic let alone comprehend it, so theyd have to think or work twice as hard to out do wizarding society, and this is just European wizards if Voldemort branched out and gathered sorcerers from all over the planet it would be closed curtain for muggle society and not to mention sorcerers are very capable of Manipulation without even being seen or noticed and then on top of all of that with wizards abilities working far beyond the physical world muggles would most likely think these are "Coincidental Events" and yes muggles may have the numbers however Voldemort Dumbledore or Grindelwald could most definitely take out more than 100 muggles (with weapons) if not thousands, quite easily i mean ive never heard of any muggle weapon going head to head with the forces of natural disasters, natural disasters wizards have at there fingertips, all it honestly takes is for example, lets say we Voldemort Grindelwald and Dumbledore who were putting this together they could spread out every highly capable wizard around the world, cast some type of electromagnetic pulse. And completley shut down majority of muggle Weaponry ORR they could cast some type of geomagnetic spell and cause world wide earthquakes in heavily muggle populated areas,, or conjure hurricanes, typhoons, supercell storms, shoot we already seen the bolt of lightning that filled the sky that was casted by Voldemort alone so🤷🏾‍♂️ but then again the way Voldemort is, alot of people wouldn't help anyway I'm just explaining that wizard kind itself could definitely outdo muggle kind

And muggles are far better at those things. 4) muggle intelligence agencies like the CIA are no less than Aurors at manipulation and sabotage ( and at some point, they will receive knowledge from Voldemort wizards) 5) Muggles have an overwhelming number of combatants with devastating weapons. How strong Voldy's army was at its peak? 5k? 15k? 35k? Any small human army can easily field 100k - 200k personnel. Heck, in WW1, 300k combatants died in the battle of Somme alone. 6) Wizards from other continents will hit back, too. tl;dr: Once muggles and anti-voldy wizards join hands, it's just over for dark lord.

Another excellent video. Got me thinking about the political situation in other wizard world governments. This is a situation a little different than those discussed in the previous video "The Real Reason No Other Countries Helped Fight Against Voldemort". If Voldemort wins over the UK wizard government and, by extension, the muggle government that sets an unbalanced power in the wizarding world and the muggle world. Surely this unbalance would motivate other wizarding governments to take direct action against Voldemort. It could be simply "leave us alone and we'll leave you alone" or invasion by a single or a coalition of wizard governments. Such a thing would draw in the muggle world too, and probably not as a bystander. The goal could be to remove Voldemort from power and restore a stable government. Part of this goal depends on the current political climate throughout the rest of the wizarding world -- do any other wizard government have desires to take over/control of England or the UK?

Except that they lack any knowledge of how muggle goverments work and besides that those goverments can still function with their key leadership gone bcs they are design that way in case there is ever a nuclear war. Muggles are better at everything and they also are adaptable which the wizard world is not. There is a reason that the stick people needed to hide from muggles.

Several different things could have happened. First, he still would have had Nagini probably, as a horcrux since she wasn't killed by Neville until after Harry revealed himself to be alive, or not. Things still could have played out the same way, so if Harry had indeed been killed as well as Nagini, Voldemort would have still had his existing soul and could be killed by anyone. The next question would have been what would have happened after Voldemort had died, whether by assassination or just old age, as he was at least in his 70s by the final battle at Hogwarts. Would someone else in his regime try to keep power or would with wizarding world try to go back to what it was before he took over?

Maybe this is a dumb question but I’ve always wondered what the time line would have been if clear back in the first one Harry takes Draco’s hand instead of telling him off. Would he have gotten in good with the Malfoys and in turn been spared by Voldemort? Or would he have still killed him right when he came back to life. Sorry if this has been talked about before.

@tommoore2012 Yeah, they have lightning timing feats and sub lightspeed with summoning spell and some spells are called jet or beam of light which hints that it would likely be ls cause they are faster than the summoning spell. And high tiers are capable of blitzing lower tiers and this whole feat starts from mid tiers too.

The only factor I would add that isn’t discussed, is through human nature (wizards share it as well) is that throughout human history we find “Love” and “attraction” being something no government can contain and regulate. Pure Bloods would fall in love with mudbloods and muggles and even after Voldemort’s fall, the same would continue to happen. This part of human nature would always keep things from going 100% one way or the other.
I think you’d also a larger number of wizards leave England for other countries where his laws were not enforced. Some place they could be free to be themselves. Even some pure bloods would do this as well. Which would also go hand in hand with him not having the numbers to wage a proper war on the muggle world.
If he wasn’t so arrogant, and was willing to be patient since he can’t die, if he was smart he’d bide his time and set a target number/goal for his army before waging war on anyone and then once he reached that number through generations of breeding pure bloods he could give it a shot. Especially if he allowed is witches and wizards to study muggle weapons and even enchant them to magically enhance them and learn defenses. Similar to the “defense against the dark arts” class but in this case “defense against the dark muggles” class. That would beneficial to his cause. But he’s not that smart or patient and would lose as a result.

  • @pavelslama5543
    @pavelslama5543 6 месяцев назад +1

Voldemort may be able to control some individuals in the muggle world, but his lack of comprehension for the muggle world would prevent him from definitely conquering it. His forces may be able to basically teleport, but they would face superior enemy everywhere. He doesnt have instant long range communication, and precise long range weaponry. He may be able to shield himself from bullets in a battle, but it is a defense measure that is likely to be overcome by the overwhelming fire of muggle weaponry. His deatheaters lack his great power and skillset and would be quickly dispersed by any show of concentrated fire, as they have never ever encountered anyone who fires back and always shoots to kill.
Even with a constant killing curse usage (which apparently takes great toll on wizard´s soul), his forces would be overwhelmed. Its also likely that the muggle world is more adaptable, and can comprehend the nature of magic much more easily than the magical folks can comprehend technology and muggle society. Especially so if the resistance joins forces with the muggle world. His body would be destroyed, and despite his ability to return, the lowering number of his followers and the even increasing number of people searching for a way to permanently destroy him would likely mean that his horcruxes would be destroyed while he was disembodied.
    ...
So, any conflict with the muggle world would have to be strictly covert operation. The muggle world would steamroll any open opposition. Also, his attack on the muggle world would necessitate first the completion of the wizarding world conquest, as any other nation watching him destroy the statute of secrecy would be quick to eliminate him with all necessary power due to the conflict with their own interests in secrecy.

That was a fun listen. My two disagreements are:
    1) I agree with those saying it would unite the rest of the world's magical governing bodies against the UK's ministry.
    2) Regarding waging war against muggles, with the imperius curse, their overwhelming numbers become irrelevant. They can curse less than a dozen people and suddenly muggles are nuking muggles, causing them to fight amongst themselves.

    • @markusmachel397
      @markusmachel397 2 месяца назад

First they would need to understand even what nukes are, radiation and all that. Also, they have no fucking clue of how muggle goverments work, military leaderaship, so they woudlnt even know how many people they would need to put under the curse. And you need way more than a dozen people to launch a nuke. Pretty sure that the muggle world with there far advanced spy and warfare capablitiy would figure out first what are the wizard capabilitys and what a imperius curse does before the wizards could inflict serious damage.

I think that they’d explain themselves to the muggles, and try to make a peace between the muggles. So as to keep both sides safe, think of it like the alliance the French did for Americans back in the ye old days; and defeat the British. I could see something similar for this world of wizards and muggles, then Hermione would probably be the best bet to fix some or most of the problems.

In terms of acceptance to Hogwarts, I believe he would allow HB as well because Salazar Slytherin allowed it. If of course they value their magical heritage only, they would probably be required to disown their non magical side or maybe even to use a Crucio on them as a show of good will. No he would allow HB witches and wizards to live, for the possibility of using them as tools in his regime. He will just force them to marry PB in order to have a blood line fix. However the variety will be very limited as you say. I wonder what would have happen with the Malfoy family in this story.

I don't think would persecute/imprison half-bloods because then there aren't enough wizards. He would rather let them do the jobs nobody likes. For example, Filch would be replaced by a half-blood as caretaker.

Stupid thing is he could have won the first night (and that would have been his best chance) if he'd just kept his word and used Imperious to make Lilly leave Harry.
As for the rest of the video I agree with the general concept that his reign would eventually topple itself, but not really the specifics, nor why wizards opposed to him wouldn't work with the muggles to introduce the Death Eaters to modern explosive ordinance, since the hide from muggles charm doesn't work on them. Also winning at Hogwarts and the Ministry doesn't mean he controls the whole wizarding world, and honestly means most muggle born and low purity wizards likely flee to those other parts of the world.

I think the biggest factor that wasn't explored deeply enough in this hypothetical is that grinderwald was a global issue and voltimore was a local issue. In addition to that the statute of secrecy existed for a reason and Europe was not the only nation to develop rules about how you were allowed to interact with muggles because the reality is they were hunting and killing witches and wizards despite their magics hundreds of years ago.
And a hypothetical where voldemort would have won the battle of hog words I do not think he would have lasted long in face of the ire of the world.
