Sumimasen sensei - I am a bit confused. Is the use of 'kara' to mean 'and then' a new or informal usage? I ask because a dictionary that I use a lot says that after the -te form 'kara' means 'since' (see here: www.nihongodict.com/w/271/kara/). Is this wrong?
And as a follow-up question, what is the best way to say 'since' in Japanese, either with noun (Since March ...) or a verb (Since I went to Japan ...) ? Arigatou gozaimasu!

hi, both are correct. ~te kara --verb. After doing ~, then do --.
      ~masu kara -- / (~dic) kara, --. Because ~, (as a result) --.
      depending on the context.
      Since March, : 3gatsu kara -. or 3gatsu irai - (
