You could use sound to indicate where the enemies are or where other objects are. Like maybe the closer they are to you, the higher pitch the sound. Different items would make different sounds.
That was kind of a jerk move. I was expecting to you to create a full sound driven fps and I was very interested on that idea because that could actually be useful to blind people.
but like... the 1/10 blind people read braille with their fingers, not their eyes so its like a game-for-blind-people-for-people-who-can-see, ya know? Unless you had a finger display that scans braille across someones fingers, but then how would they play the game? i really like the video tho, its a cool concept
sound design is really easy to overlook when you're starting out but it's really important. especially considering that blind people COULD ACTUALLY PLAY THIS if you had good spatial sounds. you should really consider adding sounds so blind people could actually play it. ayo also rad content, loving your channel so far.

You would need a monitor that can display braile though. In theory this shouldn't even be too hard if you replace the "lightbulbs" (idk what the computer term is), with pins that can poke out of the screen. You could probably also make it so that the pins poke out more or less to differentiate between different things. Also because the render distance is so limited you need to add a map with the players location, loot boxes, spawnpoints and maybe all of the enemies. You could also add a ping funktion, that makes every enemy make a noise ( like a radar). It would also be cool to have different difficulties. Easy: every enemy is frozen and gets spawned in in a random location every round Normal: idk just normal Hard: time doesn't freeze, but just moves very slowly when you aren't moving Ultra hard: time doesn't slow down at all You could give yourself additional challenges by not using the features I proposed above. But again, you would have to build that screen first.
@עָרוּץ speech to text programs exist. Blindness is also not a "one size fits all" thing, some blind people may be able to see text on a screen, but only if it is enlarged.
Let's say that they were completely blind. Then they can't read Braille on the screen LOL Braille is meant for people to read with their fingers. How are they supposed to read a television screen with their fingers? What they should do for blind people in video games is use sound cues.
You can make a better blind game. By giving haptic response to moving over an enemy. Like a controller shake when your aiming at an enemy. With the slowed time itll make this easier for blind people to play. Or even make a ping or low buzz when your aiming at an enemy. Make the sound different for different things. Doors, enemies, weapons, etc.
I do have a question tho, sure the game is in braille, but isn't braille bumps that the blind person touches in order to read it? Could someone explain, how this would work, to me? If its not a problem? Also cool video 😊
To make it suitable for blind people you can add sounds to all interactables (enemies included) that get louder the closer you are, and the closer your reticle is to them

just saying, I am totally blind and cannot play this at all, not even starting a game is possible, I am not even sure if there are menus with options like start, settings, exit. I guess the comments that say "this was nice to play as a blind person" are either "deaf" and they confuse that with "blind", or they are people with poor eyesight who can still see something and use the mouse to play. And yeah, making a game soundless is really not so genius if you are making something for the blind.
