Thanks for your videos. I'm adding here a quick summary for all those that need some notes:
    The Seven Testing Principles are:
    1. Testing shows the presence of defects, not their absence: Testing can show that defects are present, but cannot prove that there are no defects. Testing
is not a proof of correctness.
    2. Exhaustive testing is impossible: Testing everything (all combinations of inputs and preconditions) is not feasible except for trivial cases. Risk analysis, test techniques, and priorities should be used to focus test efforts.
    3. Early testing saves time and money: Static and dynamic test activities should be started as early as possible. Testing early in the software development lifecycle helps reduce or eliminate costly changes.
    4. Defects cluster together: A small number of modules usually contains most of the defects discovered during pre-release testing, or is responsible for most of the operational failures.
    5. Beware of the pesticide paradox: If the same tests are repeated over and over again, eventually these tests no longer find any new defects. Existing tests and test data may need changing, and new tests may need to be written.
    6. Testing is context dependent: Testing is done differently in different contexts. Different software project is tested differently.
    7. Absence-of-errors is a fallacy: Is impossible to run all possible tests and find all possible defects. It is a fallacy to expect that just finding and fixing a large number of defects will ensure the success of a system.
Thanks for reading. I hope this help you.

Hey, I just started to watch the videos and hands down, they are awesome! Thanks for the information, I'm trying to prepare for the exam. I worked at Ubisoft for 5 years in the Elite QC (Balancing Testing), but I need to change the job to something more interesting, as this doesn't offer enough money for what we do here. Is there any chance to get some samples of questions? Thanks a lot!

Hello Neeraj, thank you for the informative session! Regarding the Pesticide Paradox principle, when the requirements do not change where does the need to modify test cases come from I mean if the tests are prepared properly in the first place(ideal case) there would not be a need to upgrade your tests right?

    • @TMSQUARETECH

These are basically from the scope of regression in maintenance. Where we keep repeating the same tests after several updates as well. I hope that makes sense.

Hello, thank you for the informative and understandable sessions! I just have 1 doubt in the 2 testing principles. What is the difference between principle 2 and 7, at the end both means that 100% testing is not possible

    • @TMSQUARETECH
      @TMSQUARETECH  2 года назад +4

      Hey Honney!!
There is big difference and they are unique
#2 - it talks about we can't test an application completely at any point of time.
#7 - It says no matter how much testing you perform you must test the application as per the requirement not just like that.
