Many critics believe Adam Gilchrist is the greatest wicketkeeper/batsman to have played the game, but Adam's huge popularity does not rest solely on his incredible track record. To his millions of fans around the world, it is the way he plays the game - rather than simply the sum of his achievements - that marks him out as one of the best-loved cricketers of his generation. He is both a swashbuckling batsman and record-breaking wicketkeeper, yet perhaps his true impact has come from the manner in which he plays his cricket - with an integrity and sense of values that many thought had departed the game forever.

The hug that hayden gives Gilly when he got to his 100 still gives me goosebumps....20 or 30 years maybe down the lane, that would be a priceless click for them to show their grandchildren when they'd be reminiscing moments from the good old days......Those days when they literally walked on to the field in every match with just one intention of rattling the opposition team's bowlers.....And not to forget the amazing words by Mark Nicholas when Gilly smashed Malinga to reach the 3-figure mark...The 2007 world cup was overshadowed by the controversies that had happened at the time....But this world cup final was indeed a fitting end to a generation of great cricketers....

Gilchrist innings took the match away from Sri Lanka. 2006-2007 Sri Lanka was quite a strong team which broke both the records of highest scores in ODIs and T20s by a huge margin and those stayed for a decade. They did beat any team in their path but couldn't outmatch Glichrist's extraordinary innings to grab the world cup again.

Cricket is so dumb after 2011 . See how these players bat against world class bowlers then . Nowadays spinners don't turn the bowl much and fast bowlers can't swing the bowl like old legends but batsmen still can't be destructive like this. And also there are only few good batsmen ,even they can't beat these past players.Cricket has become a talent less game after t20 coming I think It is the reason.

Indians needed 215 from 162 balls at one point of time with 7 wickets and Sehwag flaying the Australian attack, Dravid playing a useful knock and yuvi was to come..so yaa we had an outside chance. Pak once they got 132 it was all over..I dont even hate pak team but Indians had a slightly higher than Pak, so did the SL. Whatever all three Asian were battered very well in the end.
