This game has one of the best Mario Kart roster, despite the absence of Birdo, Diddy Kong, Funky Kong and Petey Piranha. Also, non-Mario characters being playable in this game doesn't disturb me, as long as they belong to Nintendo, but Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach not being treated as alternative skin of Mario and Peach, respectively, do.

Remove Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Metal Mario, Pink Gold Peach, have the girl Villager be an alternate selectable (like Link’s 2 outfits), same with boy Inkling. Replace their spots with Birdo, Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Petey Piranha, Kamek, and Toadsworth. I also think Dry Bowser should be a selectable Bowser costume. Replace his spot with E. Gadd. Also, kinda like in smash, you could have the Koopalings be Bowser Jr. costumes and this would open up 7 (!) spots. Replacements? Hammer Bro., King Bob-omb, Boom Boom, Luma, Plessie, Dixie Kong, and ONE other non-Mario character: Kirby. If you want to get rid of the baby princesses, which I don’t agree with but is an idea that is circulated, I would put in those 3 spots: Pauline, Nabbit, and Captain Falcon (this makes too much sense).

Do not use weapons like Mario kart Games or any racer will get a 5-Seconds Time Penalty for using the Oil Slicks (Banana peel) alongside Mortar Cannon (Bob-omb) and Homing Missiles (Red shell) and 10-Seconds Time Penalty for using Spike Strip (Fake Item box) and Calling Airwolf (Spiny Blue Shell) for air support for targeting the race leader and 10-Seconds Stop-Go Penalty for using the POW Block and Shrink Ray (Lightning). Getting warning 3-Times this will caused to Black Flagged/Disqualified (DSQ).
