- The story of African American Shias in America is a rich one. Part Seven explores the hidden history of African Americans meeting with Iranian activists pre-1979, being inspired by the revolution and the ideological split between West Coast and East Coast Shias.

Leave this bidah and come to the Quran and SUNNAH
wow, I honestly didn't know about Dr Chamran & Shariti activities in Muslim community in US,
Mashallah to your faith and strong beliefs,
As an Iranian muslim youth when I hear your stories it makes me like jealous to your faith and strong beliefs in a positive way that makes me to extend my studyings in Islam teachings of prophet (pbuh & his family) & lives of Imams more ,
Thanks for this documentary
Came across this series and love it. Will watch it again for historical purposes. However, there are many local Shi'as in New York who took shahada (1970) under the eminent Shaykh Muhammad Sarwar. We in New York are familiar with the first batch of Iranian leaders-who went back home and some help government post. OK, the deal is that the history of Shi'a in New York has to be told. In due time.
Love this series. Alhamdullilah. The brother's point about literature is very spot on. I'm very grateful for those who wrote and translated works into English. The split over Ali Shariati is also very interesting. In Central Afghanistan we had a huge internal conflict where Shia on Shia violence was the norm for about a decade partly based on the split over pro-Shariati and anti-Shariati Shia leaders.
Personally, I love Ali Sharati and his work. He merged the sense of social justice and struggle that many of us go through with Islamic history and traditions that would otherwise have remained confined to dedicated scholars and anti-political ulema.
I’m from Afghanistan too & a Shia but we’re not Hazara cause I know when Shia gets talked about in Afghanistan automatically they think of hazaras
@@AfG_313 Salam biadar. Where in Afghanistan are you from?
I like when that guy says Mashallah a lot. lol
19:53 this brother whole vibe is just like Brother Omar Suliman from Yaqeen institute
This was informative, but still extremely sad. Black Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc. No matter what religion it is, there are always segments that want nothing to do with black people. We always have to be socially segregated even when all these various faiths preach unity. It's just makes me wonder where can we go and be respected and truly equal.
Why would Muslims be united with Christian’s? They are disbelievers and blasphemers. Should we also be united with satanists and Hindus and Talmudic Jews and all pray together and say Koombaya? Will never happen.
Salli ala Muhammadu wa'aliy wasallam
wa aliahy muhammed not salam
So beautiful! mashaAllah ❤️
Interesting info & very inspirational on the topic of brother Malcolm x.
May Allah bless the soul of Malcolm x
The history of opinions and influence looses many details in history, but in the spiritual, nothing is lost.
It important to spread principles of religion to prepare people for being observant.
Few are going to do rituals, if the sources of information and reasoning are not brought in first.
Social and cultural associations are something to work with in trying to influence others.
BLESSED TO BE THE LOVE OF AL MUHAMMED SAWW
I've only only one "Shia" Muslim in my entire life and she was a polite respectful woman of God. She said she recently converted and this was in 1996 ☺️
Salaam ya hussain.
Ma Sha Allah
Love this, and I've seen and heard the Shiek Abu Talib, love that Brother and his Familys, .much honor and respect. I wouldn't be the muslima i am today if My spirit hadn't listened . Ameen shukrunAllah
Mashallah. May Allah bless all these beautiful believers for their efforts in raising up a nation of faithful followers in the African American communities. Every day is Ashura and every land is Kerbala!
MashaAllah!!!!
Ajrakumullah
mashAllah
Ok im definitely going to become shia now that i learned this no reason why a african american should be sunni
ALLAH HAVE CREATED US INTO NATIONS AND TRIBES THAT WE MAY KNOW ONE ANOTHER, APPRECIATE THE DIFFERENCES OF ONE ANOTHER , NOT TO DESPITE EACH OTHER.
BUT HONOR THY MOTHERS AND FATHERS THAT THY DAYS BE LONGER ON THE EARTH 🌎 WHICH THY LORD ALLAH HAS GIVEN THEE . OUR PROBLEM IS WE HAVE BEEN ARABNIZE
INSTEAD OF BEING ISLAMIZE.
ISLAM CULTIVATE OUR CULTURE, NOT ARABNIZE THE CULTURE. THIS IS WHY THE ARABS HATED THE MOORS , BECAUSE THE MOORS PRATICE ISLAM DIFFERENTLY FROM THE ARABS ,
MOORISH WOMEN WASN'T SO RESTRICTED. , MOORISH WOMEN PARTICIPATE IN MANY FIELDS OF STUDY ., WHERE AS EASTERN MUSLIMS RESTRICTED THEIR MUSLIM WOMEN ,
BUT THE ARABS MUSLIMS WAS ABLE TO INFLUENCE OTHER MOORS, AND THEY WERE THE ONE'S THAT BECAME ARABNIZE , AND THE ARABSNIZE MOORS WERE THE ONE'S THAT TOOK MOORISH PRISONER'S OF WAR AND WERE SOLD TO EUROPEANS, WHICH IN TURN WAS PUT INTO SLAVERY . MOORS OF WEST AFRICA PRATICE A SUFI FORM OF ISLAM . A HIGHER DEGREE OF THE FAITH OF ISLAM ( ISLAMISM ) THE PRATICE OF PEACE .
11:14 this is dangerous for any sect if the sheikhs or imams or leaders dont want to learn the theology from actual reputable places
@jaleel appleseed all sunni sects do dawah from malikis to hanafis from pakistan to Morrocoo not just saudia.. but my point is that students of any sects should learn from actual sheikhs / imams
Masha allah
The sheikh that spread Sufism in Africa is also a follower of ahlul byt
I don’t think Shia Muslims didn’t want to engage and include people. Shia Muslims have been persecuted for more than a thousand years and are still persecuted in some countries. Most learned to worship secretly as they would be killed otherwise.
Greeting, please note this, there were no slaves bought from Africa to the west, they were all captives who were enslaved in the west. Like I have said previously, this is a very good video, however, we the New York Shi'a go way back before the date the presenters are mentioning. I have done a partial historical writing on this but it need to be updated. Love you all. Peace.
يا علي
I love this videol but theres 1 man in this video said hes one of the oldest shias in the african american community but thats false, there were a whole lot of african shia muslims centuries ago
Could you please shed some light on that ?
Alla humma salli 'ala Muhammadin wa 'ali Muhammad
I feel ashamed for not preaching
👏👏👏
Allah Muhammad Ali the blessings of Allah
Technically some of the conquistadors were inquisitors too! So they sure could and did change Slaves religion by force and torture.
Whos the younger brother speaking and how can we reach out to him?
Brother it Muslims here but they were not allowed to practice their religion.
I hope you fact checked that dude in his garden, because he sounded like he was dropping a lot of 'Bro Science'. Some black Americans, because they're not taught extensively about black history, tend to have an interesting view as to what their history involves. For example, MANY African Americans have never heard of key black figures in black history such as Mansa Musa yet some of them truly believe that William Shakespeare and the British Royal family were of African descent. The reason we don't know this now, they say, is due to a huge Rothschild type conspiracy to "keep the black man down". I digress, the dude in the garden sounded less than reputable.
EDIT: wow I actually wrote this comment as I was watching the intro, one more minute in and my fears were realised lol. You haven't fact checked one person in this vid. These black Americans believe that Mansa Musa (the king of Ghana apparently and not the Mali Empire 😑🙄😂) undertook hijrah to the Americas in the 14th century and apparently Islam has existed there ever since. We have no historic sources that support this, however Roneece Motrees and Bubba (in your vid) seem to have a wealth of knowledge and a way with words that clearly show they have a background in Islamic theology and Pan American History. WHAT IS THIS JOKE OF A DOCUMENTARY???😂🤣
There is proof of this
DONT TAG LIKE SHIA ISLAM, SUNI ISLAM..
IT'S A IRANI PROPOGANDA
