    Cool, I already knew about the transparency behaviour but colour changing was completely new to me. Thank you and keep up the good work

    Thanks Toby. The new tips for assemblies have been a big help. I've been working with large assemblies for years and keep forgetting the tab, shift+tab for hiding and unhiding. Will definitely give this one a try. Thanks again.😎💣💥💥💥🙏💯

    Thanks, I set those settings immediately.
    One question I had; If you set those components line to line, and say you send the weather seal file to the manufacturer, will the part file have an error, because it will not have that reference in the individual part?

    • @TooTallToby
      @TooTallToby  6 месяцев назад +2

      Nice - glad this helps!
      No- the part will not error. If the recipient is using SolidWorks, the geometry will remain in the state it was in, when it was last saved. In the tree, that feature will show "Boss-Extrude ->?"
      the ->? means that there is an in context reference, but the reference is not currently open in RAM.
      If you send it as a neutral file like STEP or IGES, there wont be a feature tree so there wont be any errors or warnings. It will just be a chunk of solid data, in the state it was in during the export.
      hope this helps and great question!
      Toby

      @@TooTallToby Thank you! I just had not trusted doing that because of the ->? symbols, but I will now.

    Hi Toby👋, Thank you for the video. It really helped me a lot when assembling my final project for my CAD class. I have a question though that is not related to this video. I am currently using a Hp pavilion i5 laptop and let’s just say it’s not great running Solidworks on that computer, I want to get a new laptop that can handle Solidworks and some of my other CAD Apps. Any suggestions will be amazing. My budget though is $2500 but I can extend it to$3000. I graduate college soon so I also plan to use it after graduation for personal CAD designs or work related activities. Thank you 😊.

      Hi and thanks for the kind words.
      I use a Dell Precision 7750 Laptop - Intel i7 10750H - 16GB RAM - 1TB SSD - Quadro RTX 3000. You can probably get one of these used or refurbished for half of your stated budget, and it will serve you well.
      SolidWorks is tricky with system requirements, because it depends on what you are trying to do. Simulations (FEA) benefit from fast RAM. Large assemblies benefit from faster and more RAM, and a faster hard drive. Renderings benefit from a graphics card with more Cuda Cores.
      So it depends on what you are trying to do - but I'm pretty happy with this laptop and it does what I need it to do. I plan to update the RAM to 32 GB at some point, and add a second 1TB SSD.
      Hope this helps,
      Toby

    Saberia dizer porque nas configurações do meu SW, a opção de modificar a transparência de montagem está desabilitada?

    • @TooTallToby
      @TooTallToby  Год назад +1

      Tal vez HERRAMIENTAS>"CONFIGURACIONES DE MONTAJE GRANDE" esté habilitado; deshabilite esta configuración e intente nuevamente.
      ==========================
      Perhaps TOOLS>"LARGE ASSEMBLY SETTINGS" is enabled - disable this setting and try again.
