Totally agree on your journalism talk! I quit my job as a newspaper journalist after one year, even though it had always been my dream career up until then. I realized the way the industry works took too much of a toll on my mental health - the constant pressure, always being in the 24/7 news cycle, always writing under deadlines, having multiple projects at a time, the negativity, the harshness. Just wasn't the kind of impact I wanted to make in the world. Now I work part-time as a school assistant and as a freelance writer for a culture magazine. Kept the part of the job which I always enjoyed the most and couldn't be happier about it. Glad I was brave enough to make that decision in order to protect my mental health :)
It’s so funny when Zack’s silliness starts to come out, when he was telling you to go out and do a weather report had me chuckling. I’m in NE Florida, that storm was crazy up here.
I grew up in Bartow, Fl. The tiniest of all the small central Florida orange grove towns. I left directly after high school and haven't been back and I never anticipated seeing Bartow, Fl on a news broadcast on your channel 20 years later. Mind blown!
Wishing you, Zac and your families a Happy, Safe and Blessed Thanksgiving! 🦃 I also want you to know just how thankful I am for your vlogs. To put it simply… I had a feeling you’d come back and save me. 💛🤎🧡
We gotta see Zac doing his best Jim Cantore impression. Let's see those acting chops, sir! Lol. He's killing me hahah. But seriously, I hope you guys don't have any more leak issues! What a ride!

What a great opportunity you have, to travel and experience different living situations. I live in Australia, I bought my first home when I was 24, my second when I was 32. My son bought his first home at age 23. I had my son when I was 20. He is now 29. Enjoy your travels, buy when the market is right.
Your first tropical storm! Congratulations. It's a milestone. I grew up in Florida, so very used to these things. That balcony should have sloped away from your sliding glass doors. Sorry you had to deal with it.
Omg! My husband and I went through a time where pipes bursting was an issue. It was a -40 winter and there was nothing we could do. We even left the tap dripping and they froze inside and out at least 3 times over one winter. It was so awful. We had a game plan at that point. I'm glad you were warm inside with the water. A small bright side.
It surprised me that education was one of the most regretted majors since all the teachers I know seem so passionate about and fulfilled by their job, and already knew about the pay/schedule before starting their higher education
As a teacher it’s not all that surprising to me. Yes, we knew of the low pay/schedule beforehand but you truly don’t know HOW much extra work goes into it until you’re fully in it. I spend most weekends with very little free time because of all the things I have to plan for the upcoming week. Not to mention there are a lot of things we end up having to do that really aren’t OUR job. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love teaching and the kids make it so so worth it, but I know of several people who have left the education field because it truly is hard! Especially because of the low pay and how many things we buy out-of-pocket for our kids. Also, not trying to disagree with you at all, just trying to share my perspective :)
@@grace6049 wow thank you so much for sharing your perspective! That is so shocking to me and hurts my heart that teachers who are so passionate about what they do are essentially driven to their breaking point because of everything you mentioned. I wonder how other countries compare with time commitment, salary, schedule, etc.
Tropical storms look so scary! I find that thunder during thunderstorms in Saskatchewan scare me and we don't even get tornadoes that often in the Queen city. Rain coming into the house is the worst. Several years ago I came home from work and my mom had pots everywhere around the bedrooms and living room because the roof was leaking. It felt like a scene from "The Money Pit". Thankfully the roof has since been fixed. $78 sounds like a lot for sushi! I usually get the california rolls by themselves and it's not that much, maybe $10 or less. That was years ago though, so maybe the prices have gone up since then.
Spicy tuna, sweet potato, and rainbow roll are my favorite kind of rolls. Those looked so good! I am also obsessed with the cauliflower and sweet potato gnocchi at Trader Joes, you should try it. I tried their stuffed gnocchi with tomato sauce and mozzarella last night which was delicious as well
GOOD MORNING CLANCY AND CLANCY CLAN!!! 🥰😘🥰 It's WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY WITH CLANCY!! 🥳🥳 Your vlogs are SERIOUSLY my safe place and I'm FOREVER GRATEFUL for you!! Ilyssm girl!!! 💖💖💖 Sending love and positivity to you and Zac from Dayton Ohio!! 💞💙💞💙💞
Yes, sushi is usually expensive given that it is fresh ingredients and somebody had to craft it together :) getting as many rolls as you did for that price is pretty average. My partner and I easily drop $100 everytime. Hope you enjoyed!
Clancy, they make sushi rolls with fried shrimp that are reallllly good that you should try! And if you wanted to try raw fish that doesn’t really taste like raw fish you should do a spicy tuna roll sometime. They’re much more filling with the protein! Love you and your videos ❤❤
Thanks for being real I do think in some ways influencers have it easier. It has its pros and cons but definitely think there’s more pros. You would know better than anyone else because you had a 9-5 job before dedicating full time to influencing!
That house is and property was gorgeous! It has a unique look to it and love the airy, brightness too! Your hair looks its best when it's shoulder length. My solution when I cut mine that length was a *low* but snug pony tail. With shorter hair you can't do it high and expect it to not have strays.
The job problem is major in education which my mom happens to be part of and it’s not just admin it’s the behavior of kids now too and it’s happening in healthcare as well but nothing is changing. Yet they wonder why no one wants to work, well people aren’t being payed enough for everything they do and it’s unacceptable. Glad to see the storm didn’t do too much and you were safe
Foster's: it's Austrailian for beer, mate! That was their advertising slogan back in the day and it immediately came to mind when you said you'd never heard of it. I guess that's good advertising if I remebered the exact slogan so many decades after it's disuse.
Your deep chat about reporting is how I feel about education. So much has changed and admin just piles more and more to our plate. That is why teachers are leaving. Behaviors are also out of control.
Glad you guys made it through the storm ❤️ hope the apartment got repaired 💕 thanks for the midweek smiles 😃 hope you guys have a wonderful Thanksgiving 🦃sending you an up thumb 👍 ❤️
Zac hope that you enjoyed your amazing Fosters as I enjoy them love this amazing video prayers and thoughts for you both love your family friend John ❤❤❤❤
I hope the property manager doesn’t try to charge you for the damage done. A similar thing happened to us when we stayed at an air bnb except it was just a bad thunderstorm and a tree fell and broke one of the windows and she tried to charge us for the broken window
Seminole is a city 2 miles from the beach. High enough above sea level to no need flood insurance. I grew up there so I am partial 😂. Also palm harbor area is really nice as well.
Omg! The news clip you showed was from my city! That is crazy. As a Florida native, hurricanes seem almost normal, which isn't good, I know! However it is so interesting that your clip just so happened to be from my area.
Hi Guys. Just watched your vlog. How terrifying for you. Anyway just wanted to tell you that Foster's beer is an Australian beer. So I hope Zac enjoyed it !!
Speaking of HBO Max don’t forget to keep an eye out for me in Love and Death with Elizabeth Olsen 😊 I was an extra and was in the whole movie! I’m manifesting that I have screen time 🥰
Hey Clancy Happy Thanksgiving! Regarding your hair, I would try the heatless curl trend, I have seen these long silk wrap rod that you use on damp hair over night and the curls come out very nicely! Maybe you should try that? Regarding a haircut, you can do very low ponytails and have the layers all the same length, I would have her cut the shortest layer to be able to fit in the ponytail and go from that point, seems like you have some length allowance to be able to do that! Love your videos btw been watching for many years! :)
As cool a job as the journalism seemed, when I saw from your vlogs that you had to wake up super early and put in so many hours once you get home, that sounds exhausting. I don't know how a lot of those reporters do it.
A tropical storm seems scary too! Haha living in Illinois I feel like we are always complaining about the cold and snow, etc. but oh my gosh it seems like life stops for these major coastal storms - glad you guys are okay. Happy Thanksgiving! 🤗
I live in Washington state around three hours from Portland Or. and we had hurricane strength winds here. It was crazy the winds tore down tree branches, giant ones! on peoples cars. Huge trees just thrown down from the roots! Never saw anything like this. I never knew the wind could up root a huge tree. We are still recovering from it. The tree service companies were working over time cleaning up the mess. Many of the huge, old trees at our park that are on the Columbia river had to be chopped down some were torn in two! Now we are in 32 degree weather with sleet. Weather tires me.
As a sushi lover, at a good quality place you expect 70-100 for what y’all ate; and at a cheap place that is lower quality is 25-40. Then depending on the location, and the sales tax adds to the price. Last I remember being in Florida when I was with family the sales tax is pretty high.
If you watched Denis Phillips, the man is the BEST meteorologist ever. I even put him above Frank Field from NBC-4 in NY. During hurricane season, he hosts chats often about what the models show, what to expect, etc. He's the reason I have the Storm Shield app on my phone, which even came in handy when I was outside the US traveling! I'm in Lakeland, my employer is in Orlando and we were given the day off. By 8am, it was quiet here.
I work in accounting in k-12 and anecdotally I keep hearing that employers are expecting more and more from their employees and why people are leaving their industries.
The sad thing is I feel like more jobs than not in todays world don’t have much of a work/life balance. The “family” has suffered the most in this mindset☹️
Working in education (elementary school for me) is similar, the good days are very good and the bad days are very bad as well as the increasing workload and tough work/life balance. It also seems like the entry pay is terrible in both industries considering the workload.
...but the benefits, in my opinion, greatly outweigh the negatives. I'm Canadian though and I likely would not be working education if I lived in the US, sadly :(
Clancy you should do like us Irish and have your dinner in middle of the day like 1 pm I literally can't wait that long for food . No way too late too hangry ☺️🇮🇪☺️🇮🇪 also on the working out with shorter hair problem. I'm a hairdresser and I do mine in two pigtails for the gym and my hair stays perfect. Mine is much shorter than yours Clancy.
Hey Clancy. That looked a little worrying. Fosters is an Australian lager that you'll see a lot of in the UK. $78 bucks!! Lol sushi for the next week!! 😅
Hey clancy 😊 for sharing your views on burnout...I have real burnout after working as a speech therapist, I just live for the weekend, I am losing hair due to work stress, I don't really like my colleagues, a male colleague is hitting on me (although I'm married), I spend more time with my colleagues than my husband..I'm considering trying to get a work from home job...cos I don't see the point in going on like this...I rarely meet my husband and we only have time for each other during the weekend...I'm considering applying for a work from home job...what are your views on this?
Clancy- avoid HOA homes if you can, you will feel like you are throwing hundreds of dollars a month away and some of the people get very dictator -like not a fun time.
I’m soooooo glad I wasn’t the only one who didn’t like that move and I’m a total cheeseball myself!! Yes on the Botox as well, I do Botox regularly it looks natural im can move my can and not look constipated when crying!!!
If you move to Charlotte Zac would sooooo get along with my husband. 🤣🤣🤣 he gets a big fosters can for Sunday football. And does a weird voice that was in their commercials? 😂
I’d hate to see how you’d react to a Category 5 hurricane. Remember, you missed Hurricane Ian by a few weeks. It was originally headed straight for the Tampa/St. Petersburg area but hit further south in Ft. Meyers. That was two close calls for me. Luckily, Miami, where I live, avoided disaster twice. What you experienced was nothing. Tropical storms are bad because of the flooding they bring, but a major hurricane is much worse. The people that own the Air B and B where you’re staying probably need to replace the windows and sliding doors. Since they’re leaking, I’m willing to bet they’re not impact resistant, and if they are the owners need to look at fixing the seals. If you’re seriously looking to buy a place to live in Florida, I’d suggest staying away from places that are close to water. Sure, it’s beautiful, but it can turn into a nightmare very quickly if you get hit by a storm or have a rain event. You liked the lake behind the house you viewed. Did you bother to ask if the area floods because of it, or if the house is in a flood plain? A lot of people don’t ask those questions and are surprised when their house floods during a storm and they neglected to buy flood insurance, or they discover flood insurance isn’t available because the area floods so often. The nasty thing about hurricanes isn’t the wind damage. Homes in Florida, especially after Hurricane Andrew, are built to withstand high winds. What gets most people is the water damage from flooding, which is just as bad as having a hurricane knock your house down. Imagine having to gut your home because the flood waters soaked into your Sheetrock and ruined it, and all of your furniture and appliances. It’s not pretty. However, if you stay away from the water and flood zones, you’ll have less to worry about. If you like the ocean view, it’s just a drive away. Also, avoid high rises. They’re as safe as any other structure in Florida when it comes to hurricanes, but when the power goes out, the elevators won’t work. So, you’ll either be stuck in your apartment, or you’ll be going down a lot of flights of stairs. Also, if you live close to water, you’ll have the possibility of the lobby flooding, which means you’ll have to go through that too. Of course, the reporting that’s done during hurricanes can oftentimes be ridiculous. The idea of someone like Jim Cantore chasing hurricanes strikes us as silly. If you’ve ever been through one of those storms, you’d never dream of chasing them down. I can still remember one of the local reporters that went to cover Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas a few years ago. Dorian was the strongest hurricane ever on record. Why would you risk your life to cover it? It makes no sense to me. The local coverage during a hurricane is also silly. All the TV stations go to 24 hour coverage. All you see, if you’ve still got electricity, is reporters running around town, and ducking for cover. Then, after the storm they’ll go out to report amongst the damage. They’ll remind people not to play around in the standing water. It’s dangerous because there may be downed power lines near by. Yet, they say this as they’re standing knee deep in water. I wish I were making this up for comic effect, but they actually do that. I have a degree in Journalism, but I never went into the field. It didn’t pay enough, and I couldn’t see myself working for a paper in the middle of nowhere until I “paid my dues” and could make it to a major paper, which would probably still pay me peanuts. A lot of jobs pay way more than what a print journalist makes. I also don’t regret staying out of journalism. I’m a conservative, so I’d be real popular amongst my colleagues. Also, the state of journalism is very sad right now. I think this era is worse than that of Yellow Journalism and the muckrakers. Most of my professors would’ve had a conniption. I never thought I’d live to see the day when journalists would make an argument against free speech. It’s bad enough that their reporting is no longer objective and balanced, now they’re seeking to silence voices that don’t agree with them. It’s very concerning.

Botox is preventative, if you wait til the wrinkles set in. It’s a lot harder and you need more Botox to make the same effect. Hence the frozen face
I work in accounting in k-12 and anecdotally I keep hearing that employers are expecting more and more from their employees and why people are leaving their industries.
I keep my hair, at least, at my shoulders. I cannot work out with my hair down either. Less layers?
The sad thing is I feel like more jobs than not in todays world don’t have much of a work/life balance. The “family” has suffered the most in this mindset☹️
That clip of you on air when you didn't know you were on has me weak. 😂😂😂😂 What happens if you were picking your nose or something?
Hope y'all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! That home was so open & beautiful but that price tag....eeek!
i love sushi with all my heart & soul 🍣🍱
Working in education (elementary school for me) is similar, the good days are very good and the bad days are very bad as well as the increasing workload and tough work/life balance. It also seems like the entry pay is terrible in both industries considering the workload.
...but the benefits, in my opinion, greatly outweigh the negatives. I'm Canadian though and I likely would not be working education if I lived in the US, sadly :(
Great vlog!
Thank you!!
I tell my husband too...When we eat sushi I am still hungry 😁
Lmao 1. This is a normal price for a good sushi place 2. You should try some of the shrimp tempura roll options! It’s cooked! 🤤 15:35
21:15 sports headbands will save your life with short hair 😂
I felt the same way you feel about Lindsay's botox as I do about A Star is Born with Lady Gaga! She could barely move her face the whole movie.
Yes He’s a keeper!!!
Clancy- avoid HOA homes if you can, you will feel like you are throwing hundreds of dollars a month away and some of the people get very dictator -like not a fun time.

It’s very concerning.
try the salmon nigiri or the toro nigiri! Its pricey but the best thing ever - yes its raw but try it!
