I'm getting one installed in a couple of hours, hoping it helps during these hot and humid summer days here in S.Florida. Also because I have all the supporting mods for a stage 2 Unitronic flash plus I already invested on a stage 2 TCU flash from Uni. I constantly see iat's over 140 while driving around (not on highway at higher speeds obviously). My plan is is38 next so I'd be ready for it now. (mk7 PP, ultimate racing 400 cell cat w/ resonator downpipe, Cobb catback, Cobb intake, Uni stg 2 TCU DSG, currently MAperformance stg 1 tune but will flash Uni. stg 2 today after IC install.) Keep them videos coming, haters gonna hate.
My son is planning to order Unitronic Intercooler, downpipe and possibly intake to go Stage 2. Also going to see if we can just go intercooler and downpipe w an AEm panel filter if tuner says thats a good option as well w Stage 2 along w new set of plugs. Should wake car up noticeably. He is currently on their stage 1 ecu/tcu
I added a Forge twintercooler and it feels like I gained 30 hp. Possibly because of it being an APR stage 1 mk7 GTI, but I couldn't be happier. (Ps. with black piping, you can only see the front mount if your looking for it.)
Travis Macaluso So you dynoed your car right before you installed it then after you dynoed it again on the same day? Oh that's right, no, no you didn't. You don't gain HP with a intercooler, if you do its minimal at best. It keeps you closer to that peek hp when the car is hot. It doesn't make more.
Carlos Finch from what I've read, based on the intake air temperature the vehucle can advance timing slightly and automatically corrects its fuel ratio...? When I did get a chance to dyno it, I was 24 hp over another Mk7 stage 2 with almost the exact same mods. As well, the tech said that the 3 pulls were the most consistent of the day. The curves on the graph were the exact same every pull.
Two cars with the same exact modifications will not dyno the same. My point was when you dyno a car, you do so in the most ideal conditions, ie the intercooler won't be heat soaked. Therefore a dyno comparison before and after won't show much if any difference. Both dyno sheets will be of the car in optimal conditions. The air will only be cooler after the car gets hot. Where you will notice a difference is when you run the shit out of the car for a while it will stay closer to optimal as opposed to pulling in hot hair which makes the car feel sluggish.
dat crispy winter setup though. love the vid as always Eli
+Ivan thanks Ivan!

Did you see much of a difference after the install? Less heat soak?
chfire2004 yes, overall less heatsoak and quicker recovery of heatsoaks. Lower temps while cruising and better flow under boost.

Your videos are always interesting.

I use to hate that my s4 would rip for about 120 miles then feel like it took 5 shots all slug like.
+Johnny LOL!
great video bro
Cool video Eli. Yeah I like checking out product review videos. You help give me ideas on what I can do with my project Alfa
+Carlos Orozco thanks Carlos!
200 miles? To school? holy shit man....
+A banana its my drive to/from college :) I don't do it often lol
almost 20,000 subs
+Jack Dahl I have something special ready for 20k 👊🏻
IgnitionTube I can't wait I'm really surprised you don't have more subs because of u I kept pushing my dad and got me a mk7 gti many mods to come 👊
haha i had no idea u had a intercooler! lmao
+Jack F stealth mode 😎
me like 👍👍
Please tell me how this kid is making videos about cars, when he can't really tell the difference when he upgrades his intercooler?
He explained right after though. Obviously it isn't going to make a difference in a cold month where IAT temps are going to be low regardless
+WeekEnd133 you might want to rewatch (listen) the video again. He explains it to a T.
He in fact said he did feel a difference. Hes making videos and you cant even comment on a video without fucking up. Shot
