    A Song of Ascents: I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: from whence shall my help come?
    My help cometh from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
    He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
    Behold, He that keepeth Israel doth neither slumber nor sleep.
    The LORD is thy keeper; the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
    The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
    The LORD shall keep thee from all evil; He shall keep thy soul.
    The LORD shall guard thy going out and thy coming in, from this time forth and for ever.

      @@valeriepickett4365 real hebrew supposed to sound like phoenician. Biblical hebrew would sound exactly like arabic, well not exactly, just similar with those 'ayin, ssadee, ghimmel, qaf, etc

      It sounds Yemenite Hebrew, not Arabic, resemblance to Arabic comes from the correct semitic pronunciation of the Hebrew alphabets, modern Israeli Hebrew is far from Semitic languages

      @@valeriepickett4365 and your point is? My comment was in response to that the other gentleman's statement. What i was trying to say is that we don't need to be related to someone or connected by blood to allow them the right to exist etc. Semitic Muslims are connected linguistically( and somewhat ethnically) to Jewish people( depends though) but the rest of the Muslims aren't cousins of the Jews so to speak. Should we only respect someone's rights if they are our cousins? Do i suddenly need to be part Jewish to respect them and their religion?

    When the massorets created the vowels signs, the short or long qamats had "ó" sound (like "aw" in the English word "saw"). The yemenite pronunciation is the more closed to the old hebrew. Sephardic hebrew is a very beautifull pronunciation, but have Spanish influence.

    • @gamlielabdar3398
      @gamlielabdar3398 5 лет назад +5

      Yes, sephardic is under spanish influence while ashkenazi is under yiddish influence

  • @Emersonggss
    @Emersonggss 11 лет назад +4

    Eu postei alguns vídeos sobre as consoantes yemenitas. Ainda estou devendo as vogais mas é simples: qamats = ó (sempre), pathah e segol = a, tseré = é, hiriq = i, shuruq e qubuts = u. O holem alguns pronuciam igual ao tseré e outros como "eu" na palavra francesa "peur" (a boca na posição de "ó" e a língua na posição de "é").

  • @Phoenixspacecraft

    I meant the rythm is like the yemenite, but the pronounciation is similar to the ashkenazic...

    • @zaagezint6683
      @zaagezint6683 4 года назад

      We're not the only ones who pronounce kamatz as an "o" apparently (:
      However there is no "j" sound in the loshon koidesh, that has been influenced massively by the Arabic language. The Gimmel with a dagesh is pronounced as the double "g" like in "egg" of "goat", as for the Gimmel without a dagesh, that is pronounced like a Ghimmel, similar to it Arabic equivalent
