As both officers spoke they seemed calm and relaxed. Not tense at all. I’m inclined to think they’re decent guys.

      Just because it’s “publicly funded” doesn’t give the people the right to access that property. You completely fail at understanding the 1A. Time, place, manner restrictions. All state property falls into four different categories. Traditional public forum, designated public forum, limited public forum and non-public forum. Jails and prisons are non-public forums automatically. Which has been recognized numerous times by the courts. The courts have also been very clear that rights can be limited and restricted based on an objectively reasonable narrowly tailored governmental interest. In this case, that would be a security issue. Just because tax dollars pay for something doesn’t give anyone a right to that property. This is exactly how an audit should be done. The auditor was polite, yet firm. He calmly explained the law. And his target was a public building. He wasn’t bothering lowly clerks or a private business. Well done, sir.

      @@drewl5276 I don’t know about this guy. But I’ve noticed that more and more auditors are just trying to provoke a reaction, as opposed to keeping an eye on public officials. They’ll film the inside of a library or stand outside a private business. They’re no better than a cop who gives someone a ticket for going one mile/hour over the speed limit. In both cases it’s legal yet disgusting behavior.

    • @call_me_coach
      @call_me_coach 2 года назад +7

      @@rogerr2796 I agree some auditors try to provoke for reactions. However, a library is a public, tax-funded location where any citizen has a right to be and therefore, a right to record, just like this one, or a police station, or a city hall, etc. So is a public sidewalk. It sounds like you are only approving when they audit where you think they should. Our populace is severely uneducated about their basic rights, so no matter where this is done there is an educational benefit for someone.
