Thanks for sharing. How do I add gridlines for better readabillity? (like you can in Excel sheets and Word tables)

Hi, the gridlines are always shown on the table. About two minutes into the video, I show you how you can colour the columns to view the table in a different way.

amazing! is there any way to create rules like in excel so if I put "no" in a cell it will automatically set the background of the individual cell red? Thank you!

Hi, no tables are just for basic displays of information. You can use databases instead if you want to create formulas and rules, they don't work exactly like excel though.

So the purpose of a table is to ultimately add up information in a column on the far right or in a row at the bottom? If the intent is to not add up information then we should probably use a different view?

You'd use a table to display information in a tabular format, like the competition scores example in the video . If you want to do any calculations on the information you'd use a database instead.

@@Jolono But you added up each country’s total medal count in a column on the far right. That is what led me to believe that tables are only meant for adding up information in a column on the far right or in a row at the bottom. Or am I thinking of a spreadsheet? Is there a difference between a table, spreadsheet and a database table?

@@Patrick76399 In Notion a table is used to display data in a tabular form. If you wanted a formula to add up the totals you'd use a database in Notion.

So we can’t add more rows on mobile because I’ve tried and it won’t work
