i have very high cognitive empathy and very low emotional empathy but i HATE people who manipulate others! partly because i have been manipulated several times myself and partly because i still have a moral compass and the ability to feel guilt. i think you’re mixing up low emotional empathy with psychopathy or sociopathy
the key with cognitive empathy is feeling bad when make sone else feel but since it cognitive your emotions are mismatched. you do not feel what they feel but imaging what they feeling and which can effect your mood. emotional empathy is automatic.
I'm not sure empathy is the word I'm thinking of? I'm like the last 2 I fix n correct n help others selflessly with out even noticing n ends up hurting me I'm also able to sense ppl n carry that emotional burden too tho they might look happy it sucks sometimes I need to keep positivity around me in order to do good
Does it have any real dangers when u got all three in severe form...besides the huge stress factor? What about the constant pondering about current social situations and possible outcomes...does that have anything todo with them aswell?
Sophie Cline cognitive empathy is more something you can work on everyone is born with empathy but it depends how you’re raised whether or not it gets stronger
I'm not certain but maybe "emotional empathy" is just sympathy and "empathic concern" is a drive to help? Even still there's only a fine line between the two.
@@scottytc It's closer to the other way around. Emotional empathy is "feeling as the other" and empathic concern is something like compassion, in which the vicarious pain in emotional empathy is turned into feelings of warmth, caring, and wanting the best for the other. Empathic concern is therefore not "feeling as the other" but closer to "feeling for the other", which could be called sympathy. Sympathy gets a bad reputation when it's interpreted to mean pity. See Daniel Batson's work on the empathy-altruism hypothesis, which would more accurately be called the empathic concern-altruism hypothesis
You do understand that to be able to have cognitive empathy, one must have emotional empathy, right? Whom has only cognitive empathy, is a learned behaviour. Psychopaths are very good at mimicking cognitive empathy, and are impulsive.
Awesome tools of Wisdom and Insight.
I think people who only have cognitive empathy are usually very manipulative!
GREAT Explanation!
@Nary autistics have high levels of emotional empathy and low levels of cognitive empathy.

Yeah, aka "sympathy", driven by an autonomous neurological symathetic response in the brain.
I'm definitely all three. Emotional empathy is probably my strongest though.
Excellently described.
