- Crankbaits are one of my favorite ways to catch big smallies during the fall and in this video, I use a secret crankbait that catches GIANT smallies. Small body crankbaits like this secret lure here, are easy meals and result in big smallies!

Great, that was fun and useful to watch! From my personal experience, the best bass crankbait lure is something medium sized, green, with speckles on it. It's best to retrieve it at 30-40 turns per minute. For pike and musky, go with a bottom diver, large sized, preferably something shiny. Retrieve this slowly as when it gets colder, the fish get slower.
I got the rig at work and planned on heading out there afterword. This has now only made my day come to a slow crawl...
Thanks Ben... Lol
:-) Hopefully you smashed them dude!
RON!!!
Fall cranking is one of my top favorites! You guys absolutely slayed them!!
Thanks dude! It's one of my favorite ways to target them in the fall!
Nothing better than a crankbait bite!!
best video for giant smallmouth ive watched in a while! great video
Awesome. Man I need to get my livescope dialed in better.
I've really started trying to dial in Perspective Mode. I'm learning how powerful it can be in shallow water, especially for targeting really specific changes in bottom comp or finding edges
@@brnowak_fishing yea, im loving the perspective mode, it is incredible. I need to play more with the forward mode. Im hoping g to upgrade to a 12" graph instead of the 9, just doesn't do it justice i think with a smaller graph.
Smack Down!!! Great Video as always.
Who else had to read the warning label before they attempted to watch the video?? Lol nice warning label keep bringing the great content!! Looking forward to learning more about ur how to catch them big ol brown footballs!! Tight lines
Ridiculous! Great job
Thank you so so much
Crushed em! Nice!
Thanks Nick
sooo epic! man what a day
Wow. I wish I could find spots similar that produce on Lake Simcoe right now.
Hopefully you find them dude!
Recently subscribed to hook up tackle and he just did a great vid giving up the blitz secret. Now I’ve seen a vid on it twice this week, I’ll have some for next year 😉. Great vid Ben! Hoping to do some damage like that this Tuesday in door county!
Yeah, I saw that too! They have some phenomenal content. Hopefully you smash them dude!
Name for the new net... Black Jack! Not very creative, but it's short and it rhymes.👍🏻💪👏🏻
Nice work for sure bro. Keep it up. Headed up there tomorrow and this weekend.
Heck yeah bro! Go smash them
What’s up Ben! Great videos. Where can I buy that monster bass sweatshirt and if you could pick a couple of those osp cranks, what colors are producers for you?
Stellar Job Man! Always fun when you can get on em like this! Be Well friend.
Awesome stuff! Hope to freeze myself tomorrow and stick a few before they head deep
Good Luck Dude!
Made it out, despite the 32 degree air temps and my guides freezing every few casts (forgot the wd40)... water was down 10 degrees from last week to 44, but still managed to find them roaming around 7'-10', caught them on a jerkbait and hair jig!
That my friend is a nice bag of smallies...well done guys!
Thank you so much Mechele
Great video love the channel
Thank you so much Jose!
Awesome Video , nice catches, great explanation too.
Thank you very much!
Awesome Vid boys!! call the net black beauty! haha
OSP makes great stuff. The whole Blitz line is amazing. Big fan of their jerkbait and flatside
I've not yet tried anything else - I need to check out some of their other baits because the Max DR is awesome
at what temp does the shallow bite start to die? awesome vid, looked like an amazing day of fishing!
It really depends on the day - late in the year when temps fall into the mid/low 40s, there's still a shallow bite but it normally happens on really sunny, warm days. Typically I'll start moving deep again around 48*
Thank you for the video! What lake was that?
Man what an awesome day! Great video!
Thank you so much!
What Garmin graph do you recommend for LiveScope? My dad and I are getting the LiveScope next year but not sure what to get.
I would look at the ECHOMAP 93 UHD
how do you manage fish 12 feet crankbait on 2-3 feet of water?
I was wondering the same thing?
I actually upsized my line to 16lb test and was reeling the bait more slowly. Ideally I would have downsized to a 6ft or shallower diving crankbait, but with the way they were eating this, I didn't change. Plus, overall size and color of this bait was something that I didn't have in other baits
What day is it that you are fishing ?
I have been fighting the rain, heavy winds, and very cold.
My home lake is 55° just can’t find them
I’ve been facing similar conditions here. We got lucky weather wise, but air temp were low 50s and water temps upper 50-61
I love those OSP’s. I just wish they were a smidge heavier. Every now and then I get too excited when I’m casting and it sails on me aaaand birds nest.
Yeah, the Blitz EX tends to feel really light which is why I like the Blitz Max - it's just a little bit bigger which helps me cast it easier
What lake is that?
I caught a 21 incher last week I was stoked. Colombia river
That's a beast! Good work man!
what was water temp and the depth the fish were in?
didn’t see the whole video yet^
Thanks brother! Let me know if you want any other jnfo
@@brnowak_fishing might’ve missed it but what is the water temp?
Water temp was 58-60* It's falling so quickly now though!
@@brnowak_fishing i haven’t been able to fish for smallies since july. might not get out and experience the fall bite. water temp is 55-57 right now☹️
Man, that dude needs a haircut.... LOL.... Great Stuff brother, super fun day.
Haha he does need one bad 😂😂😂 epic day brother
Dude that was sic!! I’m useing pit bulls crank baits and killn them in bayport
Heck yeah man!!!
Man not sure when you filmed this but im in pa and man the fishing just died around here i cant buy a bite
here it's been all about the crankbait lately. That shallow bite is firing off here
Ill have to give it a shot next time im out between how fast its getting cold and then on top of it we had like a drought all summer every body of water near me are feet below were they are supposed to be
LV500 in smallmouth color?
Good eye :-) That bait catches giants
Why would you choose a crank bait over a swim bait for that location?
The water was dirty/off colored from heavy winds and rain so I wanted something with heavy vibration and a rattle to help fish key on it
I think you should name the net “Brown fish lasso”
Well small world ordered 4of the blitz's yesterday great video Ben glad I ordered mine before your video l would say The Hookup will be selling fast also got a Gancraft Claw 70 it was screaming Smallmouth 👍🐟
That’s awesome! Those blitz cranks are unique and smash them! You’ll have to send pics of the fish you smash
Great stuff, that was fun to watch! Thanks for the tip on the lure, I'm ordering some. Small world I've been in that shop 2 or 3 times, it's very close to my parents house. I purchased some Spro cranks there and some Roboworms. What was the air temp and water temp on the day?
Thanks Frank! That’s crazy - it looks like such a cool store! Air temp ~50 Water Temp ~59-61
Awsome video Ben love it!! Man that gray house on the point you where fishing I can only imagine how many million that one costs!
Thanks so much Victor! Yeah, that house is unreal
What are your favorite A-Rigs?
I'm using the Frenzy Baits Sniper Rig 7 wire, but I've been really intrigued by the Shane's Rigs finesse A Rigs
Name for the net:
Pac-Man 😁
That’s pretty sick name!
Great video, I love smallies! They are so aggressive, fun fun fun! I fish for them in a hobie outback kayak! I use blade baits, small jigs called Bitsy bugs, rapalas, and flicker shad from Berkley, again fun fun, but don’t tell anyone! Lol, bass have changed my life! I love fishing!
I let 99 percent go back to the water!
Just now got a chance to watch the full video
And this is 🔥
Thank you so much bro!
"DT10" in the face. Lol... if you know, you know...
if you know, you know hahah :-)
@@brnowak_fishing have you ever tried the Berkley dredger for smallies? I was up in northern MN chasing smallies all last week and they were crushing that crankbait. The smaller profile seemed to really make a difference. I’ll have to experiment with it more
Put some shoes on dude...
Sorry about this, but how about...”black nets matter?....sorry...sorry...
