+ Lee Freed Be careful, Stevie Nicks trolls will be haunting and ragging on you if they read this! But seriously, as great Buckingham-Nicks were in FM, and surpassed JS in the mega hits, they got nothin on Mickey and Slick. Unique duo.
I've been a fan since the beginning. The first concert I ever saw was Grateful Dead/Jefferson Airplane. Loved them as Starship. But I had never heard of this song and couldn't believe what I was seeing. No wonder Paul called back Jefferson Airplane in the late '80s. But he then went back to Jefferson Starship, which is still a great band today.
My favorite album of Jefferson Starship was Winds of change .They only play Jane ,Jane,, Jane Jane, Jane, over and over . I saw them at the Woodlands with John Cougar in 1983 with Grace Slick. There is no replacement for her. I liked a bunch of songs on that album that they didn't play on the radio. Mickey was great with her. When I was young I loved the Airplane.
I saw this tour and loved this album too, especially Keep on Dreaming and Black Widow. They were my favorite band back then. I had no idea there was a video for this song until now.
I think it was just showing that they have a sense of humor and do not take themselves so serious. So many of their videos have a fun side to them. The song is called out of control.
Grace was listening to a lot of Polystyrene and x ray specs when she wrote out of control..hence th different style..also as you may have read else where the song was co written with Paul Kantner and a 9 or 10 year old China Kantner..
vocal style of Grace on this is completely identical to her, wow you weren't kidding. Pretty cool they were digging new music, well up to a certain point anyway and we all know what that was lol
she should've done/they should've done more songs like this but they did do a lot of different types of songs, and her solo album from around that time is pretty much hard rock/metal
"Stairway To Cleveland" off Modern Times this wasn't... Still awesome song. Think they wr goin for the same kinda feeling... Nvr knew the vid existed.!!
I love the LYRICS the ending This is not romper room ECT... SHE WROTE THIS WITH DAUGHTER, CHINA, when China Was youngster Which makes it special. Otherwise not a top ten, fo sho Peace-love- Dove, Moon✨🌙💫
OK. This was NOT one of Jefferson Starships better moments/songs! Almost sounds like they were grasping for anything they could sing to finish an album or something. Winds of Change, Be my Lady, Jane, those are some good music, but not this.....whatever 'this' may be.
Highly embarrassing song, embarrassing lyrics and embarrassing video. Hard to believe that some producer told them that this is a great song & should be on the album. Even harder to believe is the fact they made this video & watched it when it was completed to see how it came out and the entire band and their manager were like "Awesome! Don't need to change a thing. Let's go with it!"
Grace and Paul wrote this with their 10 year old daughter China, I’m sure the mediocre lyrics had to of come from their young daughter and the video was probably made to go with the goofy lyrics as I’m sure they showed it to her upon its completion. I always hear this song as a funny little family project of theirs
@@roystonmason9125 Lasting a long time has nothing to do with innovation. Besides, the various incarnations of the band were quite different. New Wave edge by Jefferson Starship? Yeah, what's next a song about pickles and milk? I loved Grace Slick & everything she did -- did, -- that's the keyword. This is pathetic. Everything a '60s counterculture band would never do. What? Right. They got old. Grace did the right thing after this -- she retired to paint.
They really weren't afraid to try all the musical genres! Graces' voice is always amazing.
mor punk in that time
Winds of Change and Nuclear Furniture are Epic!!

How Awesome 😇
Grace Slick just seems like she'd be a lot of fun to be around.
I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!
Wicked wit, treated everyone like a fellow flower-child....
I’d love to hang out with her on her front steps pulling a gun on cops 🤣

One of my favourite their songs.
Great actress.
With a great voice.

I like them a lot, but this song/video most certainly was a bizzare offering from them.

better than any thing Kelly Clarkson has ever done !
It's an awesome song The Stupid Song of the 1980s was Prince's Let's Go Crazy Yet everyone took that idiotic song seriously
at this point of their bad, some of it was still listenable. When Jefferson was dropped, its became unlistenable.
Love it..:-)
It was at this point that Jefferson Airplane was officially shot to hell... >_>
Let this be a warning, people! This is what switching from acid to cocaine does to you!
This cool video is not on my Greatest Video Hits compilation. I only learned of it from a Grace Slick David Letterman interview.

It’s garbage like this that give the 80s a bad wrap. Legendary Grace Slick reduced to this. It was a bad time for most rock legends, but not all.

Grace was punk before punk was punk. Too bad it's in the context of a band that's about as revolutionary as Saran Wrap.
