I just picked up a 1984 Diamondback Super Viper. Can't wait to restore it.

Came across your channel and binged the vids! Love the excitement. I’m 47 and had a lot of the bikes from the 80s. Just got the 2020 white gt pro performer and I’m looking for a 20inch bike to build. Super inspired by you man

Hey Mike... first off.. really sweet build log... hopefully your channel will be blowing up sooner rather than later with people checking out what you are placing on here. I did have a question for you. I'm in the process of building 2 separate bikes. 1 is a Diamond back Silver streak 83, which My brother raced, and gifted to me at the age of 10 or so. That bike was unfortunately taken from the family and I'm trying to replace it with one I'm piecing together to get a little bit of the childhood back.. At the same time, I always liked the HLT bikes and have the posters that were on the wall as a kid... So my question is, do you have any information as far as where to try and look to source parts for a HLT build. Also, if I come across anything myself what are you looking for to complete your project as I can keep my eyes out for anything you might need. All the best and keep at it. - Mark

FragMaster Gaming Thanks Mark for the compliments. And thanks for watching. The best source for parts is bmxmuseum.com. Also, there are a great number of FB pages dedicated to old school BMX. Including a few for Diamondback and Turbo.

I had a Turbo back in '84. Really surprised yours isn't the "smoked chrome" original (or is it a lighting thing?). I busted the cranks & folded the forks on my 1st tabletop. Very impressive looking bike, but utter junk.

Bob Parteka The smoke had a tendency to flake. My guess is that the owner just peeled it off completely. Thank you for watching.

Matt Hicks Are you a member of my Facebook page? If not. Look it up. Unbelievable Grails BMX. I have other vids posted on there. The bars video is cool, and the chrome episode is killer. My computer isn’t allowing me to upload anything to RUclips right now.
Once you join, let me know and I’ll tag you in the vids. Thanks again for watching.

I had that bike as a kid it was a birthday present. One day when I was in school my jackass older brother rode my bike to 7-Eleven and got it stolen.
