This was played at my great nan's funeral yesterday. Dorothy Brighton, Dolly, Nanny Doll. We all miss you so much, we'll never forget you. We love you, sleep well.
Wow, this song made me cry. I remember this man, when I was 11years old, every evening at 6pm, I would be outside playing and he would pass by and sing to me "Hello Dolly". I always remember him and Louis Armstrong.
This song remind when I was young watching footage my aunt birthday at Chuck E Cheese Pizza time theatre and Dolli Dimple one of Animatronic singing this song

I came on the scene when you dad was 9. In 1986 I had a crush on Lana. We went off to the lake and parked got in my truck bed and stared up at the moon. This played in the tape deck. Every August 19th I think of that night.

LA and band recorded this song as a paid session gig for the $ not thinking much of it. Then went on the road. Soon though, the audience kept shouting "Hello Dolly" as the song was released and had become a hit. Eventually Louie asked, "what's this Dolly business" till someone remembered it was the tune they recorded in NY. "You mean that piece of sh!t?" They sent back for the sheet music and the rest is history.
Ini yg saya suka nyanyikan,di tempat karaoke,yg ruangannya khusus hanya masuk saya sendiri, sedangkan pemandu karaokenya hanya bisa menyanyikan lagu dangdut dan lagu pop Indonesia, jadi saya bilang nggak usah ditemani, tolong kasih tau saja cara mencari lagunya dan Alhamdulillah tiba2 saya mendapatkan lagu karaoke Hello Dolly versi Andy Williams dan orchestra, kemudian berturut-turut saya mendapatkan lagu karaoke versi aslinya yaitu Born free, love is a Manny splendored thing, young at heart, red roses for a blue lady, my cherrie amour, impossible dream, this time, my ITS day, Apple trees versi asli diiringi orchestra walaupun saya harus bayar mahal..menurut mereka saya harus mencoba dipanggung kafe..Alhamdulillah saya berkali kali sangat bersyukur kepada Alloh SWT bisa mendapatkan lagu karaoke dgn versi aslinya
