I am riding 110 km daily from last three years , my 2017 hornet ride more thane 70000 km .. my experience says honda hornet is all-rounder .. good mileage around 47-50 , Best in performance, top speed is 124 , low maintenance bike .. just normal cons but that’s adjustable..

The paint quality is very poor,I got my front fender scratched just because of mud splash...The bike lacks one more gear .......Feels sluggish....The red plastic on mono-shock is scattering...The carbon fiber also requires frequent polishing still its prone to scratches...Rest you have already covered.I wish it had a gear shift indicator also considering the bike's pricing.
bro all the bike having the same problem but i accept hornet having chain slag and poor vision head lamp please do not tell the bolts rusting and footrest rust beacause u washed your horbet with saltwater or sea water because it creates rust formation in metal so those rusting problems are not a big problem
dude you can get rid from the false neutral problem by adjusting the chain this problem mainly occurs when the chain is in tight adjust the chain according to the manual there should be some slackness for the chain And hard gear shifting can be solved by using synthetic oil i am using it in my bike motul 4T 7100 10W40 You can get it from flipkart now my bike is running smoothly and only some chain noise exist

sharing my experience, within 2 months of purchase chain started making noise. I ignored finally, chain came out and stuck. I was lucky to be driving slow, from that day i get chain adjusted every 500 KMs. Full waste of money honda hornet. Driven just 30k in 4 years. Gear shift is hard, clutch is hard as well, comparing against Yamaha and Suzuki

Bro, in my Hornet I'm facing issue of seat shaking. The seat shakes when getting through bumps and gutters. The rider is not affected that much but when we are traveling with a pillion they are feeling very uncomfortable with this issue. Did you felt this issue?
Abhijith U make sure the seat is locked properly. Else Check the portion where it is getting locked . A hook will b der .see if der is any damage . Not a big prob bro

Chain sprocket and headlight is an issue. However, this is a reliable bike. It will never give up on you. Recommendations based on my experience: Reconfigure idling and clutch tightness as per your riding style. Check spark plug in case you feel low acceleration or surge and check engine oil. Use Shell ultra 100% synthetic oil. Some people do not recommend shell petrol. Mixing shell petrol with Indian oil or hp or other is not recommended by many. Based on my experience only shell power petrol gives the performance and I do not mix other brands. My engine does not heat up and delivers well.
I highly recomand for u bro u should go for honda hornet its have gud build qulaity with stuning style and performance. But bajaj company does not give the build qulaity becaz i am using ns 200 abs.
the real problem lies in pulling. i can only use first gear in uphill, the bike is very powerless while climbing a hill. i just want to know anyone feels the same.
This bike does uphill easily. I am from Shillong,Meghalaya and its a hill station and I never felt my bike to be powerless in very high ups. Just learn to adjust the clutch when climbing hills. This bike is powerful than FZ, GIXXER , PULSAR 150. Yes top speed is a bit low, but its very reliable engine.
Same bro. No initial pulling, and too engine heat and noice. Idling automatically changes to 1.5k .. no power. This is designed only for long ride with out changes gear

Hi Sagar, when bike is new gear changing will b hard , its normal only. After free service try using synthetic oil bike will b smoother although engine warranty cant b claimed.
I have to tighten my bike chain every 500 Km/h, also have the same paint problem. The rust problem needs to get addresed asap or it will eat your bike.

This bike is a big let down man, all of us are facing the same issues, the gear box is not smooth, seat is hard, paint quality is the poorest in the segment, switch quality the poorest, headlight is a joke. We are paying a 1 lakh rupee for this, it feels like Honda has tried every sort of cost cutting and relied only on the big macho styling, the initial stock will be sold till the people come to know about the cost cutting. I hope the 2018 Hornet has taken care of all this. This bike is a serious let down for me, I hope I am not in a majority.
bro i understand your situation . hmmmm.. one more thing washing your bike once a month is preferred .. frequent washing will also create rust . but since its just 2018 model its interesting so inform this to showroom guys and tell them to spray paint on the areas :)

Sir, please use motul 300v fully synthetic engine oil with Easter core patented technology which is made in France and mostly used in high end bikes. I am using it in my Suzuki gixxer. After using it, my gixxer gearbox become buttery smooth and false neutral problem solved to greater extent. Engine heating issue was a big problem in my bike during high traffic low speeds. Now it is solved thanks to motul 300v engine oil. Pick up of my bike improved and throttle response become precise. Mileage of my bike improved drastically from 35 mm per litre to 45 km per litre in the city and more than 50km per litre on the highway roads. In short mileage depends upon your riding skills. Most important, don't forget to tighten your bike chain and apply bike chain spray after every three weeks. During rainy season, you have to clean and spray your bike chain after every six days to prevent it from rusting and it will improve your bike chain life. Chain noise will be reduced to great extent. A bike chain set life is mostly between 15000km to 20,000km. It depends upon our bike chain maintenance. Please follow it and you will feel drastic difference in your bike performance. Please clean your bike after every 4 days during rainy season and do proper oil on bike joints to improve your bike part life.

Number Plate no I think it is because of sweaty palms because the other areas are fine. By the way I have done 14K kms and my sprocket is fine but my chain housing started rusting.
Actually my house is located in a busy street. So the bike is exposed to dust no matter what i do. that is one reason. To find when to change there are many ways. 1. Just see the rear sprocket if its sharp pointed. change it. 2. Pull the chain backwards near the rear sprocket if the chain comes till half of the teeth. change it If you still confused just go to a local mechanic to tighten the chain and ask him for confirmation. Always replace the chain and both sprockets at the same time. Thanks dude now i got a topic to take video :) P.s - still there are many ways to find !

Number Plate no I think it is because of sweaty palms because the other areas are fine. By the way I have done 14K kms and my sprocket is fine but my chain housing started rusting.
AVERAGE MIDDLE CLASS GUY chain sprocket is something we need to see. Mine is worse .I changed my sprockets at 15k km.

Actually my house is located in a busy street. So the bike is exposed to dust no matter what i do. that is one reason.
To find when to change there are many ways.
1. Just see the rear sprocket if its sharp pointed. change it.
2. Pull the chain backwards near the rear sprocket if the chain comes till half of the teeth. change it
If you still confused just go to a local mechanic to tighten the chain and ask him for confirmation.
Always replace the chain and both sprockets at the same time.

Number Plate before 2days only I gave my bike to 3rd service in ambattur....I know one mechanic there ...I told him chain sound was too high ......after service my bike going too smooth and there is no chain sound now
