Picked up my chasis mount canopy from MW, so happy with it. Will be copying this floor this weekend thank you!
Thats awesome, you will love it!! this is my 3rd MW canopy and can't fault them. Good luck with the floor and thanks for the comments!

Richo
thanks for sharing mate cheers from Queensland south
Thanks mate!! How good is Queensland!
just stumbled across the channel as I'm currently building a floor for a canopy. great build and awesome 79.
Thanks mate! Really appreciate the comments!
Good luck with the build 👍🍺
Looking good buddy ❤
Thanks mate, got a way to go yet
What glue did u use for the metal base
Hey mate
How has the false floor held up with those alloy runners?
Great idea I'm likely to steal it!
Also when mounting anything down are you just screwing straight into the ply? Or do you have markings where the alloy runners are?
Cheers mate!!
Hey mate,
False floor is working beautifully so far, as solid as when I installed it. Been over a fair few corrugations since then too. Just remember to measure it right the first time, not like I did!
I've just screwed everything into the ply, not worrying about trying to find the runners. The fridge is not moving, neither are the drawers. I did use plenty of screws though.
What I like about it is if you change your mind and want to move the setup around you can, just unscrew and move it.
Thanks for watching mate!
Cheers
Richard
Thanks for the video im also stealing the idea, did you use the 2mm tube or the 1mm ?
thanks mate! I'm not sure what size the tube was, absolutely wasn't 1mm, might have been 2mm or maybe even 3mm for greater strength. I'd recommend getting the thickest you can, being alloy its not that heavy anyway.
@ cheers mate,, great video by the way… im following you guys now for more ideas. Just picled up my 1650 MW Canopy last week and about to start the build👍
Awesome! Great choice mate, I'm very happy with mine :) Good luck with the build and thanks for following!
See all that residue glue when you sprayed the carpet? Its now on your other car door😮
Thanks for watching mate, no issues on the Prado at all. Maybe the camera angle made it look closer than it was. Didn’t end up copping any overspray.
Hey mate, how did the rest of the build go? How did you go about screwing the drawers/fridge to the floor?
Hi Mate, Thanks for the question.
Yes got the rest of the build done, one of the episodes is here - ruclips.net/video/ghxdT31cQgA/видео.html
The beauty of using a timber floor is you can screw into it anywhere you like and if you change your mind later on down the track it's easy to move things around, which I have done a fair bit of lately. This is my third canopy done this way, and this one is still going strong after 12 months of use.
Good luck with yours!
Cheers
Richo
Thanks for the reply! Is the fridge still holding up well?
The fridge is absolutely brilliant! Can't fault it really. The door sagging a bit on opening would be the only minor gripe I have. It's easily fixed with a couple of washers under the feet on install. Something I must do soon!!!
That's great thanks again, do you know the clearance needed for the fridge door? I'm super tight with my canopy opening to the point where every mil counts haha, thanks mate
Hey mate, just wondering how the roof top tent is going on the unistruts? Do you find its strong enough, im getting a new canopy next week without anything on the roof, so i was going to bolt and seal a few uni struts on to mount the tent to, but wasnt sure if bolting them on would be strong enough
Hey mate,
Yes can’t fault the unistruts so far. On this canopy they are welded on, however, the same tent was on the last canopy and we ended up bolting the unistruts on to it like you are talking about. We used hefty nuts and bolts but all worked great.
Good luck with it!
Richo
@MudModsBeers thanks mate appreciate the swift reply, keep the videos coming 👍👍
How high was that canopy?
Externally the canopy measure 935mm high, the useable internal space is about 850mm.
Thanks for watching!
