Hi Quantum..you said in an earlier video that the s90d was your TV of the year, yet the S95D is your primary TV now despite you not liking the matte screen. So Is the S90D the better all rounder without the matte screen i.e. movie watching, will the game mode be just as good on the S90D minus the extra brightness you get with the S95D? should you get the S95D if its primarily for watching in a dark room over the S90D? I understand this video is focused on the gaming aspect of the S95D but some clarity would be helpful :)
Cost me an arm and a leg even with the launch sale promotion, but damn i love the peak brightness, and the motion interpolation for Tears of the Kingdom and Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door. Makes 30fps look like 60fps and it's still barely more than a single frame of input lag (according to rtings)
This would be great but the OCB is such an unreliable piece of shit that its not even an option. Also, your paying a fortune and getting cheap 40gbps ports. That means DSC applies at 4k 144hz hdr 10 bit. DSC causes black screens when alt tabbing, no thanks. And when the PCB in the OCB fails, which it will, your then dealing with random blackouts. I wouldn't be throwing around the word premium at all. Channel owner doesn't understand dsc nor samsungs horrendous QC particularly if the OCB is involved
I went into bestbuy yesterday to see for myself, and that matte screen is not even a factor. It was clearly a better more a picture than the s90d. I think cameras alter the image when viewing it on videos. Go see it in person
@@jaylox6132 Never ever trust how a TV looks in stores! They use the worst preset mode possible in terms of picture quality because of all the lights that they have on in a store and the picture is also not calibrated! Especially not perceptionally calibrated which Quantum does!

It so did not lol. The g4 lost color coverage, color gamut, hdr gradients, color volume, and brightness. Basically anything with color and brightness was inferior on the g4. That is literally exactly what I told everyone. Yes, It was a sharp detailed image...but with outdated woled colors.
I dont get it. U said this TV makes SDR look HDR. But on the contrary you also claimed you don't like HDR and think it looks worse than SDR in comparison
Im getting a refund for my s95c from samsung. Im really conflicted on what tv to get..s90d, s95d or just get a s95c again and see if it still has the black out issues with my pc

However I think it’s time to upgrade but as you know the 900E is butter smooth when it comes to motion and that my biggest concern with these new TVs. I’ve been hearing Oleds just aren’t that great at motion. The 3 TVs on my shopping list are the Samsung S90D, Sony A95L, and Bravia 9. How do you feel the S90D stacks up against the 900E in terms of motion and do you have plans to review the Bravia 9??

You mention in the video that the issues (Matt screen aside) are likely software related so would it be a calculated risk to go for the 95d on the basis that the issues will be ironed out with future updates? Several of the games I play A LOT are Madden and NBA 2k. I'm nervous I'd screw up an OLED if I got one due to how much sports gaming I play
The peak brightness is hdr level in sdr. It separates colors better. Its such a dream. Way better than outside game mode processing tbh. If they had 20pt calibration it would be game over
Hopefully criterion includes their latest volume 7 update to the solo campaign so that you can experience it offline because its the best update imo right now 👍 underground drag race added and new drift tires fir handling. Hope you enjoy the game in the meantime.
Ive been watching TV comparisons between the S95D, G4, A95L etc and the S95D doesnt just edge out the others. The S95D is truly the most visually appealing game TV out there, easily.
I think everyone was shocked to see the S95D beat out the s90D in this category. I see you say the s90D is still the best overall though. I ended up with a G4 order since I wanted an 83" size. Looking forward to your review so I can get the best settings possible for a WOLED tv. Also still looking forward to what you will have to say about it, even if it ends up ranking lower than QD-OLED. My current TV is a 60 inch Samsung UN60ES8000 from 2012 so I think I'll still be happy. lol
But how far did you push the brightness in SDR? Because most SDR content is mastered for 100 nits. So if you push way beyond that you will get for example overly bright and fake looking nights in games.

Tl;dw - It's all about peak brightness and highlights, and game mode doesn't sacrifice image processing or color depth.
The peak brightness is hdr level in sdr. It separates colors better. Its such a dream. Way better than outside game mode processing tbh. If they had 20pt calibration it would be game over
