This show is among the best. Joy´s takes and Badtz Maru´s takes are honest, and straightforward... and valid. But none of them believe that he/she have the ultimate truth; which is so refreshing.
Problem with the Ravens and Lamar is the offense is designed to emphasize the running game and TEs, hence why veteran/star WRs don’t want to play with Lamar. The Ravens also historically don’t pay top dollar for WRs. Lamar’s favorite target is a TE. Andrews and Likely. This narrative won’t change until Lamar supplies a 1200 yard season for a WR. It’s not about talent or weapons IMO. It’s about play style and habits.
This is not 100% true. Receivers aren't coming out and saying that they don't want to play in Baltimore. Baltimore just hasn't been going out to try to get them. The receivers on the Ravens can have a 1200 yard season if they run their routes and get open, but they aren't so Lamar goes to the TE. If Davante Adams goes to the Ravens, I bet he would for sure have a 1200 yard season. Runs set up play action.
And how is he supposed to do that...in a system that as you admitted "emphasizes the running game and TEs"? I agree that the play style and habits (primarily from the OC and offensive system) are a major problem. But this system isn't going to magically become a pass happy, 1200+ yd WR system without better talent on offense
@Ray A if the Ravens had an HB that was a real threat and a WR that was also a threat, then they could easily implement more play action which would give WRs more yards per game. They don't have to be pass happy or run happy. They could easily do both depending on what the defense does.
@@raya7052 right, so what’s the point of saying “give him weapons” when is already using what he’s supposed to? I am indeed criticizing the OC and scheme but to use this “WR weapons” point in an argument when it doesn’t carry as much weight as people want it to. Lamar isn’t a pocket guy like a Burrow, Herbert, etc. which is fine but let’s not act like he didn’t win an MVP throwing to WRs more than Mark Andrews
@@Warrior4God64 but you see, WRs have come out and said they didn’t want to play in Baltimore. For example, Willie Snead said that they didn’t throw the ball and that’s why he left. And maybe this is on the franchise as a whole because who was the last WR they paid close to top of the market value to? They don’t pay WRs, so why would a WR go there to get paid to run block and get overlooked? Hollywood Brown would catch go routes but that didn’t exactly net 1200 yards a season did it? Then the Ravens traded him for a 1st round pick (a steal IMO) which further emphasizes they don’t pay WRs
Gotta be something else that we don't know about as to why the Ravens have not locked up Lamar long term. All the other QB's have been signed long term. Why are the Ravens holding out?
If I'm Lamar I wouldn't play again till I get paid. I would actually at some point request a trade. If you are not gonna pay me, trade me. Even if I got to miss the next season.
The ravens are always in trade talks when these are being trade but the ravens ain't paying no receivers more than 10 million and it might be lower than that and u need at least 20+ ms to get an elite talent at wideout and the ravens don't value receivers so that's why receivers dont want to come to the ravens
I mean, that's definitely A reason, but let's be real... These guys want numbers because that helps with their next contract. You're most likely not getting good numbers if you play for the Ravens
Ravens scrapped wr core to free up space to offer Lamar 250 mill with 133 mill guaranteed. Name a team that has a fully guaranteed player AND has other pieces that are #1 options. Y’all acting like ravens have to pay Lamar and then build an all time greats team.
@@afflicted0862 Kirk cousins has a fully guaranteed deal and has Jefferson. I know it's a rookie contract, but I'm just playing devil's advocate. I agree with your overall point.
Lamar Jackson NEVER had a Chase, Jefferson, Brown, Diggs, Hill, Hopkins Kelce etc. No TRUE ELITE receiver since he’s been in the league. Mentioning Hollywood Brown was disgraceful
Of course he is. He's pouting. But he's a lousy inconsistent pocket passer. He will never take Baltimore beyond a good regular season. He sucks in the playoffs every time. Superbowl? 4get it. That is one place you will never see him unless it's as a backup qb. Seriously. Lol
I'm with the host. Lamar IS injury prone. #29 deep ball accuracy. #35 Red zone accuracy. Sure, a better wr could probably make some of those poor stats better, but Lamar is not putting the ball on the receiver on deep outs or in the red zone and those are the throws that win games. You don't think the Ravens know this in their play calling? Why invest in a big trade for a number 1 receiver when Lamar can't make the throws?
😂😂 it’s not all on Lamar play calling sucks Lamar got to be a QB and RB they trade his deep threat in Hollywood that was has WR early and the season he was doing good with Bateman until he got hurt
@@Dragon-os8mo not trolling. I have been a Lamar and Ravens fan. I'm just taking a realistic look at the situation. If you deny the problem then it can't be fixed. Public stats show Lamar is not making these throws. He hasn't shown the ability to come from behind in a game and his playoff record is 1-3 with 3 tds and 5 picks. He's missed more games in the last 2 years than any other QB. He's taken a 1-3 week injury and turned it into 6 weeks while Ezekial Elliott had the same injury in week 9 last year and never missed a game. Eris Decker had the same injury and missed one game and he's expected to run on every play. Suh played with a torn pcl. Ravens aren't going to pay him. If they do it will end up like Chris Davis, Joe Flacco or Albert Bell. Time to retool.
At this stage, the Franchise tag is the best way for both of them to go. If they give Lamar a deal, he will make more than the franchise tag, and that gives the Ravens leeway and locks Lamar in for years. If Lamar gets the Franchise tag, he is still in the top 5 of salary, and he has his freedom to negotiate next year. NEXT year when his tag will be $55 and then he has freedom to work with anyone.
As a Raven's fan, the best statement was "What...Is...The...Alternative?..... The question that has plagued franchises for years regarding moving on from the franchise QB. Once Lamar got injured the second year in a row, the contract/ commitment did become more of a "dice roll" of will he be injured again. However, imo the dice roll of "the alternative" is a MUCH worse chance. Look no further than the Browns, Jets, Jags (before Trevor), Tampa (b4 brady), etc. It's hard to find "a" guy that can give you a shot at an SB. It's even harder to find "that" guy that can win one.
Echo is Greg Roman and Eric DeCosta. Who the heck blames someone for being injured especially when the entire offense is centered around him? Maybe he wouldn’t get hurt if GM DeCosta would get him a true #1 WR so he doesn’t scramble so much?
@Matt EP one franchise QB the last 30 years didn’t have a good defense that won the Super Bowl and that was Mahomes. Outside of that name one franchise QB that won a Super Bowl that didn’t have a good defense? That question will help you understand how silly your comment is.
I normally never post just always watch the clips but man Acho can not be serious with this take lol, Lamar is not the reason top receivers may avoid Baltimore it’s the style of the overall offense I believe but who knows lol
Man Dez Bryant already went through this saying it has nothing to due with Lamar it’s the OC and the front office. He said Lamar can make every throw they just don’t allow him to in that scheme. Now Desean Jackson is saying the same. A couple years ago Snead said the same when are people going to notice.
Lamar Jackson has more design runs to any quarterback in history. Personally I do not believe that a quarterback should have more than three design runs in one game. Not saying they shouldn't run but it should not be the play call. In my opinion the Ravens have been reckless with Lamar since he came to the league. I feel that they haven't evolved offense until this year. One can argue that the Ravens have done more to fit Lamar in a certain view opposed to actually making a significant move for a receiver in the passing game.
Awful matchup. Burrow missed less games with an ACL, and came back to take his team to the Super Bowl defeating Mahomes. Lamar hasnt done anything of that nature.
The Ravens need to put the non exclusive franchise tag on Lamar and pray that someone takes him off your hands and gives you 2 first round picks for him. Then Baltimore needs to take the hugest pick they have and draft a new QB. That’s the best case scenario here. Hopefully the Jets bite because then you will get a reasonably high pick. Ideally you would want Houston to bite then you would have the number 2 pick this year. Bam problem solved.
Respect to Joy, she is more knowledgeable then everyone here, goes to show don’t matter if your a woman or man if you apply yourself you can master anything !!
When a QB can't stay healthy and can't play for his team , that means he is not performing, in other words he is so valuable when he can't play his team loose. Stay healthy dude.
Can’t stay healthy? 🧐 Lamar’s been out 12 of 70 games (10 in last 2 seasons).. he’s played 83% of the games in his career. & every injury that he’s had, has been normal QB injuries (not running). Any QB could get hurt like he has. Como?🙇🏾💭
@@Dtw001 To some people your argument on injuries make sense but it doesn't at all, there is such a thing has accumulating damage, yes most of his injures came from not running but he got hit a lot, eventually the straw brakes the camels back.
Why has Acho historically ragged on Lamar...from the beginning of his career? Is that the role that show producers have consistently asked Acho to play, or is he just naturally a huge Lamar-troll?

I realize that no one wanted to mention Greg Roman with his play calling and playing scheme causing WRs to NOT want to play with Ravens. Fire Roman and hire a new OC that has a great passing scheme and watch the Ravens go crazy. They will always have a good run game with the RBs we have and also a scrambling Lamar when a play breaks down.
Dating back to last season the last 9 games Jackson has missed the Ravens are 1-8 in those games. I think it’s pretty obvious you definitely have to pay him. It’s the NFL any player can be injured on any give day.
They won two games without him this year alone, not to mention they won the Denver game where he only accounted for 20 yards of offense before getting hurt. And seriously, if Lamar gets traded, do you honestly think the Ravens will roll with total scrubs like Huntley and Brown at QB?
If Lamar Jackson is not the Ravens QB next season, then they are going to make an effort to get someone at that position who is better than their current backup so the 'we have seen what the Ravens are like without Lamar' isn't the best argument.
@@markula_4040No they won’t. They don’t want to pay a QB market value. They don’t have a high draft pick. They can go get Jimmy G or some other mediocre QB who’ll be cheap but they won’t get a good QB if they trade Lamar.
I’m convinced this show was created for Joy to shine. It’s so lopsided and it isn’t even close. Goes to show that just because you played the game don’t make you KNOW the game!!
Bengals with Lamar at QB would still be a Superbowl favorite. Burrow with the current weapons Baltimore has right now would be a borderline playoff team at best. You may say Burrow is better. Cool, I have no problem with that but to say Lamar is overrated is ridiculous.
Maybe if they had a solid WR1 TE2 and maybe a dual threat RB with an RB2 Jackson would commit more, cuz with two RBs is less chance of him getting hurt by doing less run plays himself
Not everybody is gonna win superbowl. And even less are gonna win in the early years. The biggest question is how much are the ravens willing to not have lamar as their QB. If you're gonna tag him just pay him cuz it shows your afraid to let him hit market. If you don't wanna pay him. Let him go. Also tagging him twice would give him half the contract anyways. And then still let him go
A lot of y’all don’t realize it is Acho’s job to spark conversation. Someone has to argue the other side and Acho is normally the person that does it because he is great at it. I don’t think Acho actually thinks Lamar doesn’t deserve to get paid. A truthfully great debater knows how to argue for their opponents side because if u know what the person your debating is going to say it makes your counter even better
Actually that last take, I see what acho is saying. If a number one receiver goes to Baltimore, he might not be as good because of how the offense is ran.
Then fire the OC, it’s not that complex. Either you’re committed to your quarterback, and maximizing his winning potential or you’re not. The Ravens are addicted to half measures.
Acho has a point. Joy's argument is flawed because the assumption is "life without Lamar" is only on one side of the equation. In both cases, you'll have to deal with not having him, but in one case you expect and plan for it while the other you just keep missing him part of the time unexpectedly and it puts you in a bind.
If they can't win in his rookie contract, they are not going to get any better after paying him. They already made the same mistake for paying Flacco after his SB.
To be fair to Acho AB did decline a trade to the Bills when he was with the steelers and said he wouldn't suit up. It forced the Bills to forgo the trade
Maybe if the ravens had signed or traded for quality offensive skill players he might not have to put the whole offense on his back an win. No Top 10 Qb in the league would trade their weapons for his. Literally not a single one.
Disclaimer: Fan from Baltimore. Receivers don’t want to go to Baltimore everyone knows that. They should focus on building a strong defense and running game. If Lamar loves Baltimore like we love him, he’ll be ok not being the highest paid player.
She shut Acho down with this crazy argument. As a Panthers fan, I smell Cam Newton all over this situation. Get a dynamic QB and refuse to give him any weapons. Wonder what the common denominator is in this situation? 🤔
In my opinion if the Ravens gave him an offensive line and more than one runner or receiver. Not choose or or the other and give him time to get the ball off. Lamar needs the players to actually show his full potential.

This show goes through people faster than anything.
Joy hitting 100%
Woe that Sista in the beautiful green has been doing her research
The ravens are always in trade talks when these are being trade but the ravens ain't paying no receivers more than 10 million and it might be lower than that and u need at least 20+ ms to get an elite talent at wideout and the ravens don't value receivers so that's why receivers dont want to come to the ravens
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I mean, that's definitely A reason, but let's be real... These guys want numbers because that helps with their next contract. You're most likely not getting good numbers if you play for the Ravens
Ravens scrapped wr core to free up space to offer Lamar 250 mill with 133 mill guaranteed. Name a team that has a fully guaranteed player AND has other pieces that are #1 options. Y’all acting like ravens have to pay Lamar and then build an all time greats team.
Lamar been playing on his rookie contract for 5 years. $11m for FIVE YEARS. Ravens have had plenty of time and cap space to pay a WR1
Wonder if Ocho has considered Lamar is out not from injury, but cuz of the contract issue?!
Of course he is. He's pouting. But he's a lousy inconsistent pocket passer. He will never take Baltimore beyond a good regular season. He sucks in the playoffs every time. Superbowl? 4get it. That is one place you will never see him unless it's as a backup qb. Seriously. Lol
Best ability is not availability. Plenty of QBs available but they don't improve teams.
Lamar can make the throw he already showed that he can stop trolling getting injured 2times missing 10 games in 5 years is not injury prone
@@Dragon-os8mo so the play calling was good with Bateman and when he got hurt the play calling is bad? Players make plays.
Lamar might just have "knee soreness" next year after getting franchise tagged. The soreness might last a long time where he just can't play
Joy was on point
Joy is carrying this show as much as Lamar is carrying Baltimore.
What football you watching
Echo is Greg Roman and Eric DeCosta. Who the heck blames someone for being injured especially when the entire offense is centered around him?
Maybe he wouldn’t get hurt if GM DeCosta would get him a true #1 WR so he doesn’t scramble so much?
@Matt EP one franchise QB the last 30 years didn’t have a good defense that won the Super Bowl and that was Mahomes. Outside of that name one franchise QB that won a Super Bowl that didn’t have a good defense?
That question will help you understand how silly your comment is.
@@tailoredfitnessatl5044 ….facts! The chiefs defense did make sum plays
But joy don't get Hurt. 😂
Thank GOD for Joy!!!
Man when has lamar had any good receivers pay that man
Hollywood brown was top 3 in drops 😂😂😂 they ranked 30th in separation o person who could win with that is Pat prime Brady and Aaron Rodgers
Acho tries so hard to tear Lamar down but he's doin backflips for Baker smh.
Dak be renting space in Shady head.
I ONLY watch bc of Joy❣
He not there because he's forced to do more then the other QB's which leads him open to being hurt ...
They think they slick not tryna tell you Joe missed a whole season with injury
Burrow missed 6 games with injury his rookie year. Lamar is about to miss his 6th game with injury this year.
Awful matchup. Burrow missed less games with an ACL, and came back to take his team to the Super Bowl defeating Mahomes. Lamar hasnt done anything of that nature.
@@Hardbody_YoungKing very true
@@Hardbody_YoungKing I’m pretty sure joe went undefeated without chase this year
@@Hardbody_YoungKing so how did Lamar winning the MVP help the Ravens in the playoffs that year?
mccoy ate this segment. thank you shady.
She is an athlete......college sprinter, her brother Jason is a HOF pass rusher, and she dates NFL and NBA dudes......so, she is in the loop yo.
Como?🙇🏾💭
release him if he hurt get real he needs his $
@@Dtw001 To some people your argument on injuries make sense but it doesn't at all, there is such a thing has accumulating damage, yes most of his injures came from not running but he got hit a lot, eventually the straw brakes the camels back.
Perfect, then let him go
@@mr.brooks9802 when he is healthy , they will.
Why has Acho historically ragged on Lamar...from the beginning of his career? Is that the role that show producers have consistently asked Acho to play, or is he just naturally a huge Lamar-troll?
He is hurt or keeps getting hurt because he has to do too much on offense
Acho Sounds Like He Just Trying To Be A Great Debater With A Bunch Of Halfass Nonsense Information.. Every QB You Speak Of Has A #1 #2 Reciever. NONE Of Them QB's Carried Or Had To Carry The Team Like LJ.. Joy And McCory Makes The Most Sense... Period...
Lamar wasnt missing games when he wasn't trying to be a pocket passer
Ummm yeah he did. He literally got injured in the pocket
That’s what he said. He WASNT getting injured when he WASNT tryna be a pocket passer
@@corneliushouwen6910 I misread it. My bad
It’s so simple, a pocket passer with no receivers is an injury waiting to happen.
Lamar is always missing games. In fact he has never started a full season since entering the NFL. SMH
Greg Roman calls plays to maximize Lamar’s talent it’s not his fault WRs don’t want to play for a run dominant team
@@mattb.2740 they are 2-3 without him and your arguing they are okay you are an idiot
Burrow is better than Lamar. Dude is overrated
Bengals with Lamar at QB would still be a Superbowl favorite. Burrow with the current weapons Baltimore has right now would be a borderline playoff team at best. You may say Burrow is better. Cool, I have no problem with that but to say Lamar is overrated is ridiculous.
Much better. Burrow is in the same class as Josh Allen and Mahomes. Lamar is in the same class as Dak, Murray, and Cousins. Those are not elite QBs.
Problem is you can't just add any receiver. He can't hit the receivers that play the side lines deep. That eliminates a lot of the best wide outs.
I used to like Acho, not no more, he spins the narrative on Lamar to much but praises and lies for these Caucasian qbs smh it's ridiculous
@JoyTaylor @LaSeanMcCoy preaching, the Gospel!!! 4:01 ❤
Acho REACHIN HEAVY lol cmon dawg
Plain and simple. Get him more help and he wouldn’t have to be 90% of their offense. The more you work the more you stand a chance to get hurt.
Baltimore should stand their ground. Let him walk if it comes to it.
Sammy Watkins comes out and says he wants Lamar to limp out there to help them win - if that’s the case and he has that potential you PAY HIM
Ask yourself this, “Is there a Qb rn that’s good enough to replace Mar for the next 4 years?” And im talking draft and active players.
Maybe if they had a solid WR1 TE2 and maybe a dual threat RB with an RB2 Jackson would commit more, cuz with two RBs is less chance of him getting hurt by doing less run plays himself
They need a WR1 they have everything else but need to fire Greg Roman and hire a real OC
4:35 DAYUM!
Joy put that Big Burly Buck in his place!!
Acho was lost for words!! 😂
Thank you Joy and shady 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Enjoy in my opinion Joy Taylor is the most honest and the smartest person up there
SHOW ME THE MONEY."-Lamar gooding jr / Ravens"- no. now you get 2 franchise tags. Now stop listening to your mom as an agent and sign a deal."
Mobile qbs are high reward/high risk...I think at this point ravens see him as the latter of the two
If they can't win in his rookie contract, they are not going to get any better after paying him.
Stefon Diggs had multiple 1000 yard seasons including a 100-catch season, AJ brown had multiple 1000 yard season including one with double digit TDs
Yeah Acho! Better listen to her.
In my opinion if the Ravens gave him an offensive line and more than one runner or receiver. Not choose or or the other and give him time to get the ball off. Lamar needs the players to actually show his full potential.
