True submarine story of WW II. "Fearless Freddie" Warder told this to our family at supper in 1944. The torpedoes that we were using were defective, and the US Navy initially refused to believe that the torpedoes were defective. "Fearless Freddie" Warder went to great risk to prove that the torpedoes, not the submariners, were the problem.
