It drives me nuts when people write off her personality as vapid or unintelligent. She’s so eloquent and thoughtful in all of her interviews and obviously plays up the party girl aesthetic intentionally Side note: you can see the pain in how she says how badly she wanted to be blond when she was young. Growing up mixed surrounded by wealthy white people can really plant some deep insecurities.
"No because what you don't understand is!!!!!" Charli is SOOOOOO smart. Everything is done for a reason. In her Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe, Charli's intelligence is on full display. Charli and her team are marketing geniuses.
it's kinda sad how much marketing matters these days. you don't even have to be good at anything else in some cases. and if you're a good musician but not great at marketing people ignore you
As someone who shares basic features like her but from a different minatory group i feel her pain. I grew up in a similar time frame and i was the same too. I wanted to be blonde so bad due to all the media of white ppl like that everywhere.
Just for the sake of precision, the Alive 2007 is not the one she mentioned. She mentioned one that took place at Coachella on 2006-04-29, whereas Alive 2007 happened in 2007-06-14 in Paris (I didn't knew that, I also had to research it, it just caught my attention that she specifically had to clarify "the Coachella one", so I had to check ✅)
this project really speaks to me b/c my personal solution to nihilistic existentialism is absurdism. not total chaos, but strange whimsy. her talking about how we're all going to forget about this and it's best just to have a laugh... the interviewer took it as negative self-talk, but I think it speaks to a deeper world view of making odd & interesting artistic and professional choices in order to combat existential dread and also the stagnancy of modern pop music.
wow, I've never been able to put words to that experience and you did it so succinctly. Lately I've been struggling with adhd related executive disfunction and blasting brat has become my go to coping strategy
@@FireDancingKira glad my post resonated, and nice :) happy you've been enjoying the clubby overstimulation on Brat. I've heard from friends with ADHD that loud/overstimulating/dance music can be really helpful in quieting the brain. It's cool hearing about music as a therapeutic tool. I know for me I definitely use it as an emotional release. Way easier to cry out my feelings if a song like So I is playing :P
I saw Charli at Showbox in Seattle and had the same experience of how she described Daft Punk. Brought actual tears to my eyes to be in a room full of people enjoying such a fun and energetic artist. Most enjoyable concert experience I’ve ever had not because of vocals or lyrical relatability but pure vibes!
The guy I’m dating works for her (for like 7 years now) and the way he talks about her is so sweet, I’m watching this cuz it feels like getting to know one of his friends I’ll never meet.
I love her brain like I want to sit her down and talk to her about her favourite songs, albums, moments in pop culture…she’s just so smart & the way she thinks about these topics is so fascinating to me
it's crazy cool how all these rich famous celebrities/artists are so confident in themselves. I bet I would be like that if I were that rich and famous
I think Brat is a brilliant and tragic record about the ups and downs of a tiktoker... it is a far deeper records than it seams in my opinion, it is quite obvious in reality. Brat green is green screen green obviously, it's the color tiktokers subtract from their online persona. Also a genius cover.
I love seeing charli this era she looks so beautiful something about no makeup this era, it’s so badass I did love crash era tho but brat is definitely needed
vos sabes que yo puedo ver a traves de lo que se ve a simple vista en camara. Me doy cuenta si se fuerza una sonrisa, la tension, todo. Como si te sacara la mascara, debe ser por eso que la gente se enoja conmigo jajaja
I’m sorry - but the questions are terrible. They are too open ended. As if no homework was done. It helps to know more about an artist before interviewing them. That being said - she still carried and gave unique responses to underwhelming questions
The apple on the desk is such a cute touch 🍏
I think the apple rotten straight to the core 🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏💃💃💃
Such a teacher
stop, i cant even lol i noticed that too! :p

i’m literally the opposite of a 365 party girl but like she somehow manages to perfectly portray all my grievances she’s so articulate idk

I think she’s one of the most interesting and intelligent people ever
Shout out to Charli's parents for being cool but also responsible, very Brat of them
fr!! this doesn't happen very often
That ‘no one’s gonna forget about you charli’ was so wholesome 🥹 💚 the interviewer clearly loves her
The pain in her eyes when she says live laugh love … I laughed so hard I spat out my drink
That's so millennial honestly lol
I absolutely love her for that. I couldn’t help my self to not laugh looking at her face like “I know I know honey, I would cry inside too”
GIRL I CANT WHY IS SHE LIKE THISNLMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. It’s the coke definitely
It was really really funny lol
I love her sm
She’s not lying about Daft Punk 2007 alive concert…. I was there and it’s one of the best concerts I’ve ever been ❤
i kinda dont believe you were there
@@nya55155 I was sis - I got receipts 🧾 however I was at the Lollapalooza show and not the Coachella concert. But it was the same set list
"one of" ?
The best, period 💙

I'm quite happy that my 56 year old self discovered this lovely Lady Charli xcx on this channel, thank you.
Been listening since 2016 & her discography is SO fun! Many songs feel Brat adjacent (highly recommend Pop2!)💚
The guy I’m dating works for her (for like 7 years now) and the way he talks about her is so sweet, I’m watching this cuz it feels like getting to know one of his friends I’ll never meet.
Man that Daft Punk Alive album is one of my all time faves. Love you Charli.
Charli is a treasure. I’ve followed her since day one, before true romance even came out. She’s always been great.
BRITNEY SPEARS is everything 🔥❤️
I love her brain like I want to sit her down and talk to her about her favourite songs, albums, moments in pop culture…she’s just so smart & the way she thinks about these topics is so fascinating to me
Well done. I like her rawness very much. Bang on Charlie!

absolutely LOVE this interview.. she has such a fresh & genuine take on the industry/being yourself - it's really not that serious.. just have FUN :)

This was so lovely to watch
She’s too ahead of her time.. been following her for years and surprised people are just discovering her now
Yeah since her debut
She’s so beautiful!!
how charli xcx just made ‘live laugh love’ sound profound and kinda cool in 2024 is beyond me
Go gurl ! Love you since sooo many years!

Why isn't it an hour long interview?!
Brit ❤
Такая искренняя и добрая девчуля ❤
💚💚💚💚💚💚
💖💖💖💖💖
I think Brat shows the personality of Charli while her previous album shares her story
Charli xcx is not more than an ICON😊
the lighting in this interview is criminal.. why would you do that to this gorgeous woman
was just thinking that 😢
Brat has a sense of humor no other album has done tiktoks everything hilarious
Charli
Can anyone tell me what kind of UK accent Charli has ?
The music videos so far 👀
If brat was so experimental like love, obviously but what was the backup tittle?🌸
she said somewhere she considered the name “desire” early on
I mean…over time, the large majority of celebrities are forgotten about. As are most people in general. It’s kind of freeing though.
Teenagers in highschool trust your gut you will find yourself if you trust Me 🦋
Britney called Camila, Selena, & Kendall a girl crush over her ?
Brat green was gross but now it’s iconic

Charli is better than Britney, she’s a goth deep inside livin a pop life😢
free her from telling the story of her parents taking her to raves in every single interview
Shes me ended me.

It seems like she doesn’t believe in the continuation of consciousness after the death of the physical body.
Are we back to the not subtle promo of smoking as cool? 🙄
someone smoking or talking about having a cigarette isn’t promotion
Why put Britney into that? Girl, you would never be like Britney.. Not that dance, not that charisma, not that beauty and body. :)
all these ponytail lifts look horrible on people. always so obvious
the not taking things seriously!! yes! can you talk to ethel cain please? she’s on one right now about how no one is serious enough 🙄
