Robert Moore Just came here after listening to an excellent cover of this song by an extraordinary cover band: Foxes and Fossils. They lead me to the originals. Give it a listen. ruclips.net/video/KP_ozkEPD-M/видео.html
For several years I wanted to run from my life that I have. Truth be told I have an amazing life but at the time it was really hard to deal with. Not long ago I nearly bolted but thankfully 2 people came into my life that have helped me face my past that I buried years ago. I will never go a day without thanking God for them. I owe my life to both of them & I will spend the rest of my life honoring them thru living life even if it means they can't be in my life at this time.
I think we've all dreamt of putting all our stress and responsibility behind us, packing your bags and hitting the road without saying anything to anyone first. Hell, I'm thinking about it right now
please don't do anything that would hurt the people that love you. sometimes people won't realize how much they mean to those around them until everything falls apart. don't leave the ones that love you behind with worries in their hearts and tears in their eyes. please
+nathaniel mummert don't worry, I would never do that. It's just a fantasy about hopping in a car and just driving away from all the stress. But I'm an adult and I realize I can't. But sometimes that little fantasy of leaving it all behind is how I get through it
July 18th 2022. I had a 4 year relationship that commanded all of my time, care, love and attention come to an end on a false vacation that was in fact my former fiance manipulating me to get her to drive us to Tallahassee Florida for her real lover. I was left with nothing but the rental car, and the change in my pocket to go home 951 miles away. This was on repeat for over 600 miles of that journey home and the only thing that kept me going the entire way. I've loved this song since I first heard it on 99.5. You guys are awesome still in 2022, keep it coming. Thank you for the music.
This song was one of the songs that gave me strength when I moved from Idaho to Los Angeles. This song, the beat, the lyrics helped me drive away to meet my new life. LOVE this song.
That's funny... I'm in Boise getting ready to start my new life as soon as I can figure out what I want to be when I grow up 😊. I've had 60 years to decide, I better figure it out quick. I think some salt water might help need decide?
I think it's the first guy singing but i went to church with his cousin 14yrs ago when I was part of the church and got to meet the guys up in Jonesboro where his cousin lived and these guys are so cool and down to earth
I haven't heard this song for years, but the other day it just randomly popped into my head while showering.... and I'm SO GLAD it did! What a great song!
+Ben Brust This is their first single, made back when Brian Bandas was still in the band. In like 2010, Disney shut down the record label that Love and Theft were with. They're newest album Whiskey on my Breath was self-released, but songs like Angel Eyes, If You Ever Get Lonely, and Runnin' Out of Air were released with RCA Nashville. RCA dropped them, so they had to buy back some of their songs, while other songs they can't even touch because Sony wants so much money for them. Stephen once said that Sony wants three grand per song, or the band has to wait five years before they can re-record them, even if they wrote the songs themselves. They actually had almost an entire album finished before they got dropped. Songs like Reba's Going Out Like That were originally Love and Theft's songs, actually, but because Stephen and Eric didn't write them, they can't keep claims on them and stop other singers from cutting them. This is what I'm assuming happened with songs like Candyland, You Didn't Want Me, etc., since there are RUclips videos of them, but they weren't on the Whiskey on my Breath album. These guys have just gotten really bad luck with the record deals, but their newest song Whiskey on my Breath did get played on the radio, and recently got big again thanks to Bobby Bones talking about it. I think, as a lot of other Theftheads do, that Love and Theft should be way bigger than they are. They've got amazing voices, and they're both good people. I've gotten to meet them twice, and you can tell they're thankful for all the undying support their fans give them.
The lead singer's mom was one of my high school teachers. She would play their Debut album with this song in it and it hadn't come out yet! They are great! Fun fact the song "hey stephen" from Taylor swift is about the lead singer of love and theft!
Actually did this about 4 years ago. Moved clear across the state! I never looked back. For anyone thinking about doing this, I Recommend it, with all my heart. "My freedom I hold dear"-Robert Plant.
I'm a black chick who likes a variety of music and heard of them Years ago! I'm surprised they aren't famous more!! What is going on??? I loved this song n video!!! Guys were cute!!
i remember this when hauling up Ohio 76 no traffic, pushing 140 with my brother trying to catch our destination before it's too late.. I love that old 01 Sebring Coupe man
Just a quick story and a question I love unusal country songs and I have spent 3 hrs looking for this song how in gods name is it so unpopular. Like most of the country music i like is like this. I pray for you, fuzzy. Lol you get the idea
This song and band are way underplayed. I fell in love with this song and them the second I heard it when it was released. Still cannot get enough of it.
I love this song, you guys are great! This is my 'Runaway' song when I leave Michigan winters behind and I do live near the tracks, leavin' a sleepy blizzard town... fan in Galesburg, Michigan USA *
Runaway Lyrics By Chase Bennett Verse 1: Its been a long week I've got a slow leak in my left front tire I'm sick of where I work my boss is such a jerk don't care if I get fired my backs about to break no money in the bank and she don't call me anymore I'm down to my last ring its time to sell my things. Chorus: And pack my bags and never look back from the parallel line with the railroad tracks and make my getaway I put the pedal to the metal as the sun goes down and everybody sleeping in this sleepy town tonight at the break of day Ill be a runaway. Verse 2: 100 miles in I got a stupid grin on this scruffy face with every cigarette I'm burning my regrets don't wanna leave a trace and from a rear view I got a clear view from who I used to be a little bit faster now don't wanna turn around. Chorus: I'm gonna pack my bags and never look back from the parallel line with the railroad tracks and make my getaway I put the pedal to the metal as the sun goes down and everybody sleeping in this sleepy town tonight at the break of day Ill be a runaway Ill be a runaway Ill be a runaway Ill be a runaway Ill be a runaway. Verse 3: It's crazy I know to count on this road to give me what I need but with every state line somehow Ill find another part of me yeah yeah. Chorus: I'm gonna pack my bags and never look back from the parallel line with the railroad tracks and make my getaway I put the pedal to the metal as the sun goes down and everybody sleeping in this sleepy town tonight at the break of day Ill be a runaway Ill be a runaway Ill be a runaway Ill be a runaway Ill be a runaway Ill be a runaway Ill be a runaway Ill be a runaway.
I'm not big-time crazy about a lot of modern day country, I'm more into the old stuff & outlaw country.. But I don't mind these guys, they are talented.
The music bizz is crazy how some with little to no talent, take off and become bigger than they should, then there's groups like this, who clearly have that "IT" factor, and just for some reason can't get that push they need.
There's just something about country that makes it different.. It's the way they play guitar and that twang in their voice. Don't you dare classify them as pop. It's rough country.
I'm in Lexington KY and there's a band that plays at the Horseshoe Saloon that plays a ver. of this song and I have to say they doing it much better. If your ever in Lexington come to the horseshoe and see Larry Williams Band do this song it's awesome.

Yup, me too. I heard it a day or two ago on the radio. I can't believe it's 10 years old
How about June 2021
Anyone else still randomly get this song stuck in their head for weeks at a time ?
You have no idea
Yessssssss
This is how rock country should be. I don't think this song will ever get old for me.
These guys should be way bigger than they are
I was just thinking the same thing!
Tony Adams.. you should be way smaller than you are

why aren't these guys more popular? They rock, but I hardly ever hear them on the radio.
