- A total of 79 people were arrested Monday after a group of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered on the South Mall at the University of Texas at Austin’s campus in the afternoon and set up several tents in the area.

My opinion. If they are so adamant with their stance, go make your stand where it might count. USA and Canada are dealing with same issues. If protesters are from there, send them back, don’t bring your problems here. Don’t try to make here the same as there from which you left.
Wake up we are in the U.S.A
The protests are the students of the University demanding the University to divest from investments contributing to genocide. It has nothing to do with being from here or there because they are the students of the Universities.
So is she really complaining that the police have to do their job? What's really notable is that she did not go into detail why the police used force and made arrests in the first place. If the crowd was so peaceful then why did it have to be dispersed? Why were buildings having their access blocked by other students?
Thank you! I called in support of the protesters and in the meantime saw that the University of Texas' has investments with Lockhart Martin Corp, along with many more military related supply companies including Boeing amounting to 31 Billion. May shed some light as to the overreactive military response by the University in collaboration with the state. I watched the whole thing beng live streamed because my niece is a freshman and I was shocked! Good thing we have first amendment rights so we don't turn into an oppressive military state! If KXAN wants to investigate I will share this information to ensure it's accuracy. It was already posted publicly.
People that attack journalist are not concerned about public safety.
Translation: you're not allowed to have an opinion in the land of pepper spray, tasers,batons and handcuffs unless you can afford to hire an attorney.
