This is not just a problem that you can talk about and forget, This is a grave situation, More NGOs and advocates should come up to improve the law in favour of men which already favoured women. Hats off to the sensible lady in the podcast.
2 laws should be there
1) which describe the responsibilities of both husband and wife towards each other.
2) if anyone misuses the law there should be provision to take appropriate actions against him/her.
We also need strong laws against vote bank politics.

498a is the most stupid law as per me. It should be abolished. Make divorce on grounds of cruelty settled fast. Also alimony disputes should be settled fast and transprent. It should be based on years of marriage, no of children and earning of both spouses. 498a is nothing but an alimony dispute, marriage is long over before that.
All 50 laws that favour women are idiotic. The constitution itself is regressive

Why no lawyer filed the objection against 498A
To strike down a law a person has to file writ petition in HC or SC alleging that it violates fundamental rights ( Equality in this case) & successfully prove his point. (Note that Art 14- Equality contains exceptions like State can make laws for the benefits of backward classes, women & children)
