    Imagine how awkward it would've been if we heard a gunshot 4 seconds later.

      @@yungniodred of course not, but in the canon timeline those events would have happened before this scene. of course they didn’t literally write this scene with nacho in mind, but after the addition of the bcs timeline we can add retroactive analysis to these scenes from breaking bad. extra layers

      Nacho was way more pragmatic than Jesse
      Jesse, regardless of how much empathy he mightve had, was stupid irrational and emotional.

      No he didn't, you schmuck. BCS was only written BECAUSE BB was such a smash hit. He didn't write any part of BCS beforehand.

      @@spiralsageTrue, but I think Mike could’ve been seeing just enough similar traits between Jesse and Nacho that it at least reminded him.
      Of course, BCS and Nacho’s story weren’t written until later, but that’s beside the point. lol

    • @Logan912
      @Logan912 19 дней назад +16

      Obviously not when Breaking Bad was being written, but Jesse does retroactively have *some* similar traits to Nacho. It’s not that big of a stretch.

      It doesn’t seem unreasonable to draw parallels between Nacho and Jesse, whether from Mike’s point of view or our own. Mike’s own son Matty (who also wasn’t an established backstory character within BB), Nacho, Jesse are all clearly instances of young men whose waywardness is a result of corruption, rather than inner malice - a distinction Mike understands all too well. Mike finds corruption painful to witness not only because he couldn’t save Matty from it, but because he himself has a played a role in this destructive and evil process. There’s technically no need to retroactively apply information that didn’t exist (to your point) in order to appreciate a common theme which is being deliberately explored by the writers of both shows. But then again, why not? We are already suspending external standards of belief in the very act of accepting that the person on screen is in fact not even a man named Michael Erhmantraut, but an actor named Jonathan Banks wouldn’t you agree? In other words we’re assessing not just a work of fiction but a fictional viewpoint being constructed therein - and yes there are plenty of healthy debates on how to handle that

    Unbelievable... When Jesse figured out he'd been robbed and didn't give a single fucк, I was like wtf is wrong with him... Then Mike gets it back and he STILL doesn't give any single fucк...
    Then, at the end, he still manages to find a way to waste his 5 millions...
    Not talking about his fkn Santa Claus spree, wasting 10k bundles by the car window...
    If only he realized all that money could bring him all the useless junkies he wanted for company, or all the Janes and Andreas he ever wanted...
