  • The Solar System: A Big Cosmic Family
The Solar System is like a huge space family. At the center of this family is the Sun, which is like the parent or boss. The Sun is a big, bright, hot ball of fire that gives us light and warmth.
Around the Sun, there are eight planets, just like kids in a big family. These planets are all different sizes and spin around the Sun, each in its own path, called an orbit.
Here’s a fun fact: Earth, where we live, is one of these planets! Earth spins around the Sun once a year, which is why we have different seasons like winter, spring, summer, and fall.
Here are the names of the eight planets:
Mercury - The smallest and closest planet to the Sun. It's very hot!
Venus - It’s about the same size as Earth, but it’s super hot and covered in clouds.
Earth - This is where we live! It’s the only planet with water, plants, and animals.
Mars - This planet is red, and people call it the "Red Planet."
Jupiter - The biggest planet! It’s made mostly of gas and has many moons.
Saturn - The planet with the pretty rings around it. These rings are made of ice and rocks.
Uranus - A blue-green planet that spins on its side.
Neptune - The farthest planet from the Sun, and it’s very cold and windy.
There are also smaller objects in the Solar System, like moons (which are like the planets' friends), comets, and asteroids (big rocks floating in space).
So, just like how all family members stick together, the planets, moons, and the Sun are part of one big cosmic family-the Solar System!
