As someone who grew up on Enema of the State and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, I find this to be a very interesting introductory song to Blink 182. You’ll have to check out some of their earlier stuff. Totally different vibe.
nfbuckeye Artistically I have to say it was their break through. I personally prefer Enema and TOYPAJ albums but their self titled was definitely where they found their future sounds.
Also: SOS, Hello, Screaming, Olimpiko, Adagio, Daididau, KNOW, Samaltau, Your Love, Confessa+Diva Dance, The Show Must Go On, Samaltau, Sinful Passion...
@@matthewayvar9393 the cheesy-ness, melodies and chord progressions of alot of their songs. Its not necessarily a bad criticism, I like some of their songs. But its nothing like pure punk.
@@user-jq7di9pz8m yeah the lyrics are cheesy but nothing about their sound is pop there aren't any guitars that sound the way that blink does in normal pop music
My daughter was madly in love with these guys (Mark Hoppus to be specific), she was at that age, early teens, but I like a lot of their stuff too. Check out "Stay Together For The Kids".
This song takes me back to high school. They are my younger brother’s favorite band, even though he was so young when they became more popular. Same thing happened to me with Green Day (first heard them in middle school 1996), and I’ve loved them ever since. Music stays with you! Also I just wanna say that I found your channel a week ago and ten seconds into the first video I watched I subscribed. Your energy is so positive and kind. You radiate sunshine, dude. It’s refreshing, especially when the world is the way it is.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I’ve never actually bought any blink albums but every time this song would come on the radio I never wanted it to end. Think this is the one song of theirs on my phone.
I always thought this song was soooooo influenced by The Cure! Absolutely love it! In fact, thir song "All of this" was recorded with Robert Smith from The Cure. Absolutely brilliant over generations mash up.
I love this song, it's definitely my favorite of theirs! Gotta recommend "Adam's Song" too, very sad and deep song but with good melodies and hooks too. Another nice reaction video :)
Tom DeLonge is part of TTSA aka; To The Stars Academy who are trying to bring fourth the realization we are being visited by Extra Terrestrial's, (thought you might enjoy this little fact).
I'm immediately catapulted back into my 14 yr old body... all raging hormones and emotional reactions. I love watching you experience these songs for the first time it brings me such joy. it's like I'm reliving the first time I listened to them. thanks for including us ❤
Blink 182 definitely deserves a closer listen, they were the anti boy band~ band and have some great music . Adams song, what's my age again, all the small things, always or feeling it...♡
there are very few songs that i can listen to again and again without getting tired of them, but this is one. it's only every playlist i make, and has been since the album it's on was first released.
p.s. please, as a longtime follower of yours, can i just ask one thing of you? ... never call anything by blink 182 "soft rock" again. i know what you meant, and, yes, the song is mellow, but ...:::weeps:::...
It's interesting seeing a music video again after so long and remembering that back then that kiss in the music video was a huge controversy but something like that now would just be what it is.
kj robbi yes, this is my least favorite. I understand them trying something different but it’s not what they’re known for. Green Day is my favorite in this genre too 🤗
All the Small Things and Dammit are definitely solid starter songs. First Date is a good time too, and has a funny '70s-themes music video. I've seen some folks mention Adam's Song - not a bad song at all, but super depressing. Someone else has probably said this already, but Travis Barker rules - in this band and beyond it. (He's done a lot of great drum work besides his role in blink-182.)
Totally off topic but I'm asking every reaction channel I watch, which are 5, why no one has reacted to Chris de Burgh and his song Spanish Train? He is truly a great storyteller. Please check him out!
I think I'm going to change my screen name to TotallyOffTopic. I also think I share your drum a bit. Was just listening to 'Transmission Ends' by Chris and there are so many others great tunes of his. I see that Jayvee has reacted to 'Lady in Red' though, so the topic has been opened. Lots of other artists I know that none of these reactors have reviewed.
What's My Age Again? and All The Small Things are great! Another good band that features Mark Hoppus (vocalist and bassist) and Travis Barker (dummer) is +44, their song "When Your Heart Stops Beating" is tight!
Check out Guns N Roses - "Patience". Also the group Go West "we close our eyes", "king of wishful thinking" and "faithful". And check out the group Modern English "I Melt with you".
He’s talking about himself being dark and semi-evil weird and the girl he with as a Girlfriend his Angel, that brings him to light? Like Jack & Sally from nightmare before Christmas… Spiders eating their insides in the second verse is his immaturity & indecisions to commit, or call to commit. With history of dating that broke his heart before... He had lying girls that hurt him?... Don’t Waste Your Time On Me You’re already a voice inside his head; This Angel that brought him to light this time is different, because it doesn’t matter about my indecisions or my fears of what you may do to hurt or impress me with? You are already in all of my thoughts…
Early to mid 90s had some really good music.....different but good. You need to check out another band that reminds me of this style called Blind Mellon and Goo Goo Dolls. Then there is Savage Garden 💗. Then delve into imo the best of 90s Linkin Park.....dynamite RIP Chester 👍💗
Noooooooo, why is this your introduction to them!? 🤣 they have way better stuff. You need a blink starter kit, lol. May I suggest "what's my age again?" next?
As someone who grew up on Enema of the State and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, I find this to be a very interesting introductory song to Blink 182. You’ll have to check out some of their earlier stuff. Totally different vibe.
Joe Hahn same, but that was a FANTASTIC album. Their best, IMO.
nfbuckeye Artistically I have to say it was their break through. I personally prefer Enema and TOYPAJ albums but their self titled was definitely where they found their future sounds.
Blink is usually more punk rock...this is their "love song" so its more mellow than their standard tunes.
Also: SOS, Hello, Screaming, Olimpiko, Adagio, Daididau, KNOW, Samaltau, Your Love, Confessa+Diva Dance, The Show Must Go On, Samaltau, Sinful Passion...
More pop rock, not punk

All the Small Things and First Date are a couple of songs to listen to if you want to hear more.
Tom's voice in this is just something else, "the voice inside my YEeedddd"
Now you have to do "What's My Age Again" by them. I remember when that music video broke MTV
This is NOT indicative of Blink 182, but it is one of their better explorations.
My daughter was madly in love with these guys (Mark Hoppus to be specific), she was at that age, early teens, but I like a lot of their stuff too. Check out "Stay Together For The Kids".
Stay together for the kids is one of those songs that always gets me emotional

Edit: actually I have this song and the greatest hits album.
Travis Barker really made this album something special. Really unique choice they made with the acoustic guitar tones.
travis is one of the best drummers ever glad to see someone else knows the amazing drummer

Flashbacks to being a teenager! I love Blink 182.
You have to listen to "First Date" by them. Probably one of their most popular songs.
This song is already a Voice in side my 'Yead!
This will forever be one of my favorite songs and band!
You got it, like me and my friends used to say, if you heard this song somewhere in a store or whatever, you're stuck with it for atleast a few days
"Always" and "Feeling This" are my favourite songs by Blink. But this is definitely a strong song too. Ooh "Whats my Age Again? is fun as well!
my chemical romance!!!!!!
God yes!!! Entire *Black Parade* album.
Ohhh I don't know this band..... Going to investigate. Thank you for that.
Adams Song by blink! Definitely!
"where are yooouuuuu"
Tom DeLonge is part of TTSA aka; To The Stars Academy who are trying to bring fourth the realization we are being visited by Extra Terrestrial's, (thought you might enjoy this little fact).
Very interesting. I enjoyed hearing him talk about it on the Joe Rogan Experience

Oh they can rock out. That’s their specialty. The drummer Travis Barker particularly, he’s a well respected punk drummer 🤟❤️🇨🇦

they're actually "post punk."
Great review! Check out their song "All The Small Things" and fasten your seat belt😊
This song came out when I was 14 and it instantly takes me back 🚀
Blink 182 have so many good songs a couple of my personal favourites are mutt and every time I look for you
This is from their self titled and best album. The one where they became "musical adults".
This tune was heavily influenced by their love of the band The Cure ( who are amazing)
It’s crazy Tom DeLonge quit the band and became a U.F.O. Researcher
Always love this song!
It's been a long time since I've heard this one, I thank you kindly!
Goosebumps!.
Still one of the best musical moments was used with this song in Legit. It just set the moment perfectly.
It's interesting seeing a music video again after so long and remembering that back then that kiss in the music video was a huge controversy but something like that now would just be what it is.
Love this guy. He reacts to my childhood ❤️
They broke away from their normal with this one. I like it but it took a little getting used to for me 👍🏻
Yeah I like their punk better. But Green Day are my faves.

This feels kind of dark. Trying to listen to the music
It feels too whiny to me. I don’t like it.
Thanks Jay for bring different bands to us.
I've heard of this band but not this song.
I don't remember this one, nice song
My first for this song not bad
Great reaction as always. If you haven't already check out the video for First Date by Blink 182. It's so funny.

written by the awesome Robert Smith (The CURE)
This makes me think of 'Greenday'. Their song, 'American Idiot' is a good starter, I think.
If you're doing pop punk bands check out Bowling for Soup - Turbulence, should have been a huge hit
Dean Brody - Another Man's Gold (Lyrics)
If you do like this style of music try Tonight, Tonight by Smashing Pumpkins
If you liked this check Blue October - hate me today.
You should hear all the small things you'd dig it

Not my cup of tea, I gave you a thumbs up anyway!
There older stuff is better
This is their best song. The other stuff is really meh, especially compared to the 70's bangers u always do.
*IMO
This is maybe not the best song to start with their catalogue
Don’t know them
Auto-tune deluxe.
Not a favorite!
Please please please do something like their song “Stay Together for the Kids” or “Wendy Clear” they have so much better work than this pop gum Bs
