What's one character that's going to be in your virtual town? :D
A Man
I'm doing your scratch profile picture as my character
Avery
Avery because she has a walking animation or abby
A cat
I like how these tutorials have been getting increasingly more complex. Personally, I believe that an effective Scratch tutorial would not only show the viewer how to code things, but also what the blocks they're using do. This can help the viewer create more creative and extravagant things in the future by themselves.
I literally made an RPG without knowing this thing
Now take a look at griffpatch's videos
This is what teach me how to copy with shift

@@everysingletagiusesucks I love rpgs
I've been looking for a tutorial like this for YEARS!! I've tried making a virtual rpg a lot of times, but failed because I simply couldn't...do it correctly. Thank you!!
Hello, I Seen this comment, and I would like to help you :)
I can help. I have 2 years experience in Scratch
I also
@@Midrule i agree
@@Midrule this channel is to show u how to do basic stuff-
Tip: If you want smoother movement, drag in the “if then” block. Next drag in the “when ___ pressed” block from the sensing catagory then fill in the blank with the arrow keys and conect it to the if then block.
Thnk u the other problem is just the right key doesn't work
Thank you Zinnea! I wanna say thank you so much for every ST member for working hard to give us best experiences in Scratch! Stay Safe!
Zinnea's voice is so calming. And the tutorials are amazing!
"flip horizontal"
the 2nd arrow costume: *_"welp, guess i'll die."_*
Lol
why are you everywhere?
@@velvetsuzie I've never seen you before, but I watch a bunch of scratch videos that I probably won't use.
@@ckqk you can just click on the other costume
@@SawnickSez Yes that is the joke sir.
It really was amazing to show my teacher this, she said, wow, you are genius and scratch, this idea just got my 5 Mark's on hand, thank you
Yes ive needed this for the longest time, thanks for the video tutorial :D
Honestly, I am new and this helped me out so much!! I always wanted to do this, and a lot of people told me I'd have to be more... advance. So knowing I can do it now is so great for me! Also for everyone else!
When the world needed her most, she came back.
Hello anyone who's reading this! If you have many places in your world, you can also do this for each character!
When Green Flag Clicked
It might be the simplest approach, but it gets the job done!
Why are you everywhere? Why? Why? One question, *_why?_*

Now I can finally make an rpg game on scratch, thank you!
Exactly what I was looking for! I was never successful in making my own RPG, thank you too much!
Oh I've got a few ideas like a shop, different sprites we can interact with, or even the sprites' own houses!
Wow,I improved my little town so much with this tutorial!Thank you Zinnea!
Link?
This app is so sweet and so are these tutorial videos. Stumbled upon it today by accident, decided to try it out for fun and I'm absolutely hooked already.
You don't have to "hover over choose a sprite and click choose," you can simply just press choose a sprite
I use Google Drawings to make vectors
@@sethseth001 cool
Needed this for many days!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks ZINNEA & the SCRATCH TEAM ALways waiting for your videos
i always wanted to make an rpg game in scratch! thank you very much!
This was such an effective tutorial! thank you so so much Zinnea!
1 week ago, recommended randomly. You should make a video explaining that scratch rendering is a shortcut and you can make your own rendering stuff. It would've been helpful knowing that to me as a kid.
This can be done with clones

OMG! I didn't realise you were in the Scratch Team! This will help so much with my Warriors RPG!
(oh, I'm the one who commented on your Create A Clan thingy btw and you said the comment made your day...)
Thank you again so much for the tutorial!
Oh my gosh! I was really hoping people would be able to use this tutorial to make a Warriors RPG! I'm so glad :) :)
@@Zinnea Thanks!
Its called cats of all lands
“Flip sprite”
Literally the next costume: am I a joke to you?
This really helped I'm a 9 year old learning in school about scratch so thank you my project was to make a virtual town!❤️❤️
amazing tutorial! Mines gonna be a citizen who can do tasks around the city
Extra code that might help: Add a point in direction block below the left and right controls to make the character change directions. Be sure to add a when green flag clicked event block and under it set direction to left right.
Fun Fact: The arrow has a costume that makes it horizontal. It's very useful and I don't use the flip horizontal button, I personally think these tutorials are good for new scratchers
2 hours ago..! Sorta early? I was busy anyway. I will definitely try! I love that its always on point and is under 10 minutes most of the time! Simple and easy. Will try for sure! :)
I just did not know that you could make something like this thank you ZOE and SCRACH TEAM always waiting for your videos......
Yos thank You!!!
Zinnea, I have commented before, and I'll comment again...THANK YOU. As a teacher, I simply can't tell you how much I appreciate your tutorials. I have no words. OK, yes I do...THEY'RE GRRRRRRRRREAT!!
dont be mad to your students
This is amazing! I didn't know we could do these many types of projects in Scratch! Thanks, Zoe. 🙂
Ya! It's Fun!

Omg, the first clip is a remix of one of my games! Totally unexpected and very cool to see haha. Love these videos, keep up the good work :3
OMG!!!! I've been waiting for this VIDeOOOOO, OMG Thanks Scratch!!!!🤩
This is the video i was looking for some weeks finally i found it.
Ohohohohoho! I have an idea for an rpg game. It would include fighting and bosses. Basically the legend of zelda , but also not. Also, you could make a “hitbox” sprite at every end of a path and make it so that if you go to the end of a path, you go to another place. I’ll try an make a tutorial for that.
really wanted this thanks zinnea and scratch team
Time to try this :D
THIS WOMAN HELPED ME SO MUCH IN SCRATCH HONESTLY
Wow I love making games on scratch but when I saw this I had to do it
I like how the tutorials are getting a little more complex and fun
I will absolutely try this❤
getting better every video i used scratch for like 3 years? and im not stopping
I love these tutorials :)
Her voice is just
CALMING
who knew that this tutorial made me dedicate myself to a game. the coding might not be the best, but it works (Sorta)
I do recommend: Instead of adding the arrows for next backdrop, use: "if x position is < than ###/ x position is > than ###", "go to next/go to previous backdrop".
can you upload tutorials more often pls? really love it :)
"click flip horizontal"
The second costume: Well i guess people see me as a sick joke
Thank you so much Zinnea.. I made some games like this and they were very interesting 😀
I made Red Dead Redemption 3 xDDDD
(User lion334)
Thank You for making videos about Scratch it helps me because in Cyber we have 2 chapters about Scratch
"Flip Horizantal"? ma- giiiirl, what about 2nd costume
wow!now this is what i call creatitvity! this was super awesome zennia! keep up with your creative mind!
Here's a smoother movement for a future video!
1. Create variables speed x and speed y
2. When flag clicked
3. Go to x: () y:()
4. Set speed x and speed y to 0
5. Forever
6. If key right arrow
7. Change speed x by 1
End
8. If key left arrow
9. Change speed x by -1
End
10.Change x by speed x
11. If key up arrow
12. Change speed y by 1
End
13. If key down arrow
14. Change speed y by -1
End
15. Change y by speed y
End forever loop
Hope that helps😊

Oh my god i never use when this sprite clicked block, the only events that i use are When green flag clicked and the broadcast blocks. I even make 1 sprite for all characters, but now i know this is the easiest way
I really had to thank you because I actually had troubles on searching how to go to the Previous backdrop
Im gonna make "Pokemon SCRATCH Version" In Scratch Region lol
That's what i wanted to do oof
the scratch team needs like 100k subs!
Can you make a tutorial of how to make a virtual theme park on scratch
Finally! My weirdcore story game will come true!
You hold down Shift to multi select?? It's CTRL in PowerPoint.
yup
Yep! There are actually TONS of neat and helpful tricks you can do in the vector editor by holding shift or alt. For example, resizing something while holding alt makes it resize around its center. (I'm not sure about the bitmap editor, I don't use it that often)
@@huckleberry256 Yeah, bitmap is only really good for pixel art and making aesthetics from what I know.
Yeah that was confusing me
@@huckleberry256 If you want Pixel Art then you should switch to bitmap
Thanks I really didn't know what game to make until I saw this video tomorrow I'm coding a game using this.
WOW thats cool! Could we also try making x & y velocity? and in a forever loop when arrow keys are pressed change them by 5 and in a forever loop add a change x vel by x vel * 0.5 so it is smooth and do the same for y vel? Thanks :)
when flag was clicked
forever {
if then {
change x by 5
}
}
@@pottahboy2778 That's the simple one! I was talking about friction physics
wait why would you use other variables if they mean the same thing
I remember playing scratch 4 years ago good times
video idea: How to make a platformer game in scratch
I know how to make a platformer game, also i can make a multiplier games by using cloud variables
that would be too hard
