This was a fantastic film. And it's very relatable for a person of Chinese descent living in Southeast Asia. A lot of the context of the film is that of a Chinese family whose traditions are challenged in modern Thai society. The large burial plot is not so much a Thai as a Chinese tradition. It is extremely important. The elder son who sought the grandma to live with him was actually trying to fulfil his filial responsibilities to look after his parent, as eldest son. But it was revealed in the course of the film that like the grandson, the elder son also had a hidden motive to get the house. What I find a little confusing is that grandma is called Ah Ma, even though she is M's maternal grandmother. Then the old man whom Mui looks after is M's paternal grandfather, but M calls the grandfather Ah Gong. I was just wondering is this the correct nomenclature in Teochew? Or is the nomenclature changed in Thailand?

Thank you for the additional explanation. I have some background in Japanese culture, but Chinese and Thai are foreign to me so this was very helpful!
**Spoiler** I think M was angry not because Ama gave the House to his Uncle. It was because M wanted to be the person Ama love the most.
