      I agree. It's not always like this, but there is usually a reason the bully is doing what they're doing other than being sadistic (not always though). It doesn't excuse the behavior in any way whatsoever, but it's there.

    In my experience telling an adult is not the right call. I started school in the early 90s and 2000s in NYC when gang activity was at an all time high. If you snitched , you were getting jumped for sure. A kid once got his two front teeth knocked down his throat for snitching. That's when I learned to keep my mouth shut and mind my business. Remember kids are afraid to tell their teachers because the kid knows the teacher can't protect them during recess or after school hours, and won't do anything drastic until after the damage is already done, so kids don't bother.

    • @SchoolPrincipalReacts
      @SchoolPrincipalReacts  Год назад +16

      The truth is that every school is a little bit different. I agree with you that the culture of “snitches” exists in a lot of places, unfortunately. I would still say that the best course of action is to tell in adult. Sometimes it is a matter of telling specific adults that are in the best position to do something about it. It is also often possible to do it in a way that no one knows you have told someone. I agree that some places make it more difficult to do this than others. Thanks for watching! 😎👍

    As an adult, this episode reminds me of my time in 5th grade. I would tell the teacher about something one of my classmates said or did, and she would do nothing or just try to calmly talk to them, but as always they would spin it around as a misunderstanding. I even had a Valentine card where my name was misspelled on purpose to make it sound dumb, so I showed it to her. She called the kid up and, of course, he lied and said it was a mistake. Because my name is different, she took his side and dropped the matter. As soon as she looked away, he smiled at me and walked away.
    But whenever any of my classmates told the teacher I did something super insignificant or even lied by twisting my words around to make it sound like I was doing something bad, she would take me out into the hall and tell me "what happened". I would try to tell her what really happened, but she wouldn't believe me. I wouldn't be punished, but I was just so tired of being picked on and her not on my side.
    It wasn't until the last week of school when I finally got justice because I had proof! One of my art projects had been vandalized by someone, and I wasn't going to say anything at first until she heard me quietly exclaim a "Oh no! What happened?" and saw my project with scribbles all over it. She called for the classes attention and demanded whoever did it to step forward. Since no one did, everyone had to stay in the classroom for lunch and no recess unless someone confessed. Of course, some kids blamed me for the punishment because I said something, but it honestly was an accident and I was kinda glad I did since she was actually on my side. Eventually a classmate stepped forward and we all got to go outside except for them. They apologized (I had to accept it because, as they said in Full House, "never walk away angry", and back then it felt like you had to accept apologies) and wrote an apology letter. Whether it really was them or not, I was just happy this teacher actually took action for something that happened to me rather than find it as a misunderstanding somehow.

      Hey. Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, some adults don’t know how to deal with these kinds of situations in a way that is truly effective. Just like Mrs. Puff, they may say that it isn’t really bullying or a problem. Or they may just simply not know how to deal with it. We do our best to train teachers on the right way to handle it, or to simply report it to administrator. Thanks so much for your comment! 😎

When Flats crashed, spongebob could’ve said “thank god” and ran away from him and never see him again, but no, he saved him despite his threats. Tells you how great of a soul Spongebob is. My teacher didn't do anything but to bully me as well, locked me and some fellow students in the library to study after school cuz we failed the test. After school I always took a different road to another bus stop cuz the one I usually took had my bullies waiting for me. They threw rocks at me and ice during winter. If it wasn't for my sister I would have given up. Out of 3 bullies, 1 apologized.

    I remember always crying in English class and when the teacher walked walked in she would ask who made me cry and I would say why I was crying and point at the ones who made me cry, it’s funny now because they would try to apologize and get me to stop crying but failed. Now the English teacher I had back then is in the office building and is someone people can go talk to, like my little brother who has the same thing as me (autism) and she fixed a problem he had in one of his classes where the teacher punished everyone and made them all write an essay and he got so behind in class work and she fixed it.

I mean she told him to draw a FOUR WAY INTERSECTION and he drew him beating spongebob up and she called him an artist, then when spongebob went to confide in her, she told Flats everything SpongeBob said, and then when flats passes out from trying to beat up spongebob since it looks like spongebob beat up flats, mrs puff threatens him herself. I mean she hates spongebob as is so it only has to make sense

    Unfortunately, I was the bully back in elementary school. Y'all, if someone is bullying you, please just tell a teacher or administrator, or any adult you trust to fix the issue. I hate looking back on what I was like, and I wish somebody had put a stop to my antics early on.
    To those curious, there was this girl I picked on all the time. She was really shy and didn't really have more than one or two friends, so I thought “easy target.” She was one of my most frequent targets. Never anything physical. Had enough decency to know not to hit a girl, but I still managed to make school awful for her.
    All of this changed about midway through 3rd grade when an even bigger bully set his sights on me. Picking on other kids wasn't really fun anymore when I was also getting bullied. Needless to say, my bullying days ended pretty soon.
    It all turned out good though. After I stopped messing with her, and we made up, the girl and I, believe it or not, became best friends, took some time, but yeah, we were inseperable. Eventually started dating in high school. Just married her last summer. It's funny how this sort of thing happens, and it's probably the strangest way to become friends. Really, you could probably make a hallmark movie out of this. Still, I hate looking back on what I was like.

    I learned quickly that you NEVER tell teachers if you're being bullied. I had a friend in high school who confessed to a guy. He turned her down, but his girlfriend dumped a tray of food on her head.
    She told teachers, and the bullying got worse.
    She told me and our other friend about it, and we were out for blood that day.
    The triluth is that if you're being bullied, teachers make it worse.
    We were more than willing to fight that girl, but this was a year after we graduated.
    So yeah, never tell teachers. Fight back.

    • @SchoolPrincipalReacts

      Hey - I am sorry this happened. The only legitimate option is to tell someone at the school. The truth is that every person (including teachers) is different, and just because a teacher failed in their duty to do something about the bullying does not mean that it is the wrong thing to tell someone. Unfortunately I have also seen this in situations where the teacher does not do anything. In this case, it needs to be escalated to the assistant/vice principal or principal. Thanks for sharing this! 👍

    I was small and autistic in the 2000's (which was pretty much the dark ages of autism care) and they became good friends afterwards we mostly let stuff go I only had bully who wouldn't stop because he was a gangbanger and my teacher unfortunately said she didn't see anything every time he threatened me or threw stuff at me and told me to sit down(I later found out she hated all men for some reason and later worked at an all girls school)

      Hey - thanks for the comment.
      That's horrible and I'm sorry you went through that. The truth is that every situation is different, but as a general rule I tell students to tell an adult. There are situations (unfortunately) like the one you described where the adult doesn't do their job. This happens occasionally, and in this instance the student's only legitimate choice is to tell a different person (an administrator if possible).

    Bullying takes on many forms over the years. When I was in middleschool, I had to face it constantly, from being called different names, to being treated differently based on sterotypes and race, and to being touched inappropriately. It was time when people were reaching puberty and that ghetto and rap attitude was common. Other factors was my introvert personality, my emotions, and all that. And worse, the rules trying to stop the bullying was turned against victims. I even got my own drinks and money stolen at times. In highschool, bullying died down to something more tame and not worth getting angry over because these bullies tend to be rebellious and fail at education.

One of my x friends/ student at the academy I attended called me E.T. the Alien since my left hand is shaped a little differently and is Missing 2 fingers and only has 2 and a one thumb. At the time I just ignored them and did not bother with it looking back on that time I should have I can relate to SpongeBob a bit in this episode being nervous about telling a teacher or in my case just letting it slide since this person only said that one time during are activity we were doing as a group with my teacher. What are your suggestions if this were to happen again

    • @SchoolPrincipalReacts
      @SchoolPrincipalReacts  Год назад +1

      Hi! I’m sorry this happened to you. You are right that many times students are nervous or even fearful about telling someone, but most of the time this is the only legitimate way out of the bullying. I ended up turning the last part of this video into a short also about bullying advice. The main thing is, tell someone. It’s not always easy, but it is the main way to permanently put a stop to it. If one adult doesn’t do anything about it, tell someone else, preferably an administrator.
      Thanks for watching! 😎👍
