    I'm an aspiring event planner! I love your channel! Such good advice! I have done a few events and before I did my first event I thought it would be me mingling and talking to people once it was done - NOPE! I was wrong! I was not glamorous and regret wearing heels! But I LOVED it! It was so much fun and made me realize I love the prep beforehand and the day of! You're right about the beforehand - it can get stressful and is a lot fo email/paperwork for only a couple hour events! Thank you for posting!! :)

    💜💜💜 I can imagine it’s a very stressful job, especially when the bride changes her mind at the last minute or she thinks of something new at the last minute to add to any part of the wedding . Sometimes the bride will give one of the bridesmaids the boot.🤦🏽‍♀️ I planned my entire wedding. I know!
    💜💜💜 Great Cons and Pros! I enjoyed watching your video. 🙏🏾👍🏽😍

    For my Pro - I love how you are working for yourself, and working with YOUR vision. I love seeing the before and after of things. I planned my brothers birthday parties and just fell in love with it! I work in retail so I understand the long hours, but to work for youself. That is the goal!

    Afternoon miss event planner. I just wanted to say how much I love your videos! I am looking to start my event decor business once all this mayhem is all over. Just a quick question...before you you had your first client, did you make any purchases before hand? I know in one of your earlier videos, you mentioned how your niche to start off with was girls spa parties...how did you go about deciding what other packages to offer?
    Many thanks and hope you and the family are well and thank you for all your tips

    So. How is the shut down affecting your business? Real Talk. When can we start this business again. I was on a bizbash zoom meeting and it doesn't look good for the event industry. I'm getting worried. I was in the planning phase. Should I just look to do something else?

    Hello. Before you started your first event, what materials did you buy? Should I stock up with a variaety of materials or just what my first event needs?

    • @covetgirl8072
      @covetgirl8072 4 года назад +1

      Diana Garcia just rent out what you need. Dont bother buying. Saves a lot of money and space too. You can rent just about everything if you know where to find them. Quote your services by taking into account things that you hire. Basically, get clients, ask budget, see what you can do with that budget, maybe sketch out the plan (you dont have to tell them which cost what and where you get it from - people just want to not think about small details because thats why they want to hire you, just produce pretty parties), then work it out from there. A good place to start is host/ design your own party to show people what you are capable of. Take photos, invite people whatever. This will start out as word of mouth from family and friends or even just from instagram.

    Hey! I loved your 3rd pro! I love to decorate and feel I would have a good eye to decorate for an event. I am soo excited to begin my career in event planning, Do you think I NEED to study first? Or do you think I could just do research on the internet? Eg through RUclips videos? What do you suggest?

    Hi! Is a party decorator in charge of the cake also?..i only want to decorate parties and be out the door,i do not want to be in charge of the cake.

    • @BashBesties
      @BashBesties  4 года назад +1

      Hello, usually if you are just a decorator you would set up your decor and leave and the “planner” or client if doing their own event would be in charge of the cake and corresponding with the baker. You would just provide the cake stand and place it where the cake should be on the treat table so they know where it’s supposed to go when it arrives or they pull it out. If you’re decorating though you may want to ask the client if you can speak with the bakery to make sure the colors/decor is seamless with the cake and the decor.
      The baker usually delivers earlier before the party or the client/assistants pick it up. If you’re a decorator who provides treats you might want to wait for the cake to get your pictures and such. It just depends. It can depend on the size of the cake. If it’s fragile, large, or expensive the baker may deliver and transfer to the cake stand themselves. If it’s a smaller cake I normally see the bakery deliver it or the client picks it up...and they’ll usually just transfer it to the cake stand themselves. If you don’t want to handle cake you don’t have to, you just let your client know up front that is not apart of your services.

    What's your thoughts on planning virtual events?

    • @BashBesties
      @BashBesties  4 года назад +2

      I think it sounds great if it works for your business and is definitely the spirit of the times at this very moment, but in my opinion it will never replace the real thing. When we are cleared to gather and after the weight of the pandemic has started to lift people will be craving in person gatherings and celebrations. Virtual events I think will continue strong for corporate but not so much for personal when this all passes.

    How to have my event planning business recognized as a legitimate business? Like what paperwork to file or processes to make sure it is registered as a business?

    • @BashBesties
      @BashBesties  3 года назад +1

      Hello Courtney, so you’ll need to apply for a Business License and a DBA name, as well as purchase insurance and have your clients sign contracts with each event to run legitimately. Your local city hall will have more specific information on what you need and how to get licensed as it can vary from state to state. 💕

    Event planning should never be stressful! Don't manifest that for your business. The key thing is to be organized. I wouldn't feel confident in a event planner who has anxiety. Ijs

    • @BashBesties
      @BashBesties  4 года назад +4

      Just wondering is your position on the topic from that of a client or are you a professional event planner?
      I don’t believe that to be true at all. Even the most organized of people can experience stress and anxiety. Being organized and prepared definitely helps to reduce stress, but it doesn’t completely eliminate it. The thing is that your stress or anxiety should never be seen, noticed, or projected onto your clients. You should never even be able to tell if an event planner is stressed or not when dealing with them.
      Also, it’s not something you manifest on your business, it is the nature of the business. Event planning is named the 5th or 6th most stressful job in America year after year, so it’s safe to say that it is an aspect you can’t avoid and that many planners (despite their clients knowledge) are dealing with some level of anxiety.
      To your statement I would say for the sake of the debate let’s just change the industry, do you think for instance airline pilots are stressed out or ever experience anxiety? I would say absolutely! When you book your flight and enter your plane you have no idea if the pilot is stressed or not, and even knowing that it’s one of the most stressful jobs in the world, you still put your life in their hands and get on the plane and fly where you need to go without hesitation. Why? Because although they have an extremely stressful job, not everyone can do what they do, and even if they do experience some level of anxiety it doesn’t mean they are not more than capable of doing their job successfully.

    • @windex-2887
      @windex-2887 4 года назад

      Event planning may be the top five jobs that are stressful. But I believe in mindset. If your mind thinks it, so you are! I believe we become what we think about. A lot of event planners (people) potentially stress over what they can't control... my best work is working under pressure with ease... that is skill that I developed through learning, as an event planner... what I'm saying is, it doesn't have to be stressful because someone says it.

    • @BashBesties
      @BashBesties  4 года назад +1

      I totally get what you’re getting at. I definitely believe in mindset too, and I also think a good dose of realism is always necessary. I just think as you said it’s a skill that you developed over time, which you should be proud of.
      However, I believe people entering the field should be aware of what they’re walking into. A lot of people assume the event planning business is easy and it’ll be a breeze, but learning to be at ease under pressure is not a mastered skill most people will walk straight into the industry with. Also, the idea of stress or anxiety of this occupation doesn’t merely pertain to the actual act of planning an event, but running your own event business which most people have no clue about when entering the field. A stress-free career in this industry is definitely something new planners can strive for, and with experience can be attainable in time.
