You may have helped me make a decision I have been tossing around in my head. I'm 76 and an ex-guitar player. Several spine surgeries have affected my ability to play guitar, but I think I can hold a bow and my left hand is strong and my fingers have good dexterity. I don't know the tuning of a cello, but am familiar with a fret positions and still have a good ear. I always loved the cello so with that in mind, wish me luck. Thank you for this video.
I really appreciate this - my husband played cello growing up an is teaching me how to play now. I never learned to play a musical instrument or read music, so i'm starting fresh at 32. Perfect timing!
Thanks for these videos. I started cello some years ago as an older adult. Where I live there was only one person who offered lessons to adults. Turned out she wasn’t a teacher, showed me nothing, didn’t explain the basics, just wanted some bucks. So I continued on my own, with help from watching several teachers on you tube. After all this time I just learned from you that I’ve been applying the rosin wrong and other basic things, so thanks again for your generosity.
I'd be supremely happy just sustaining one note over a bar or two (out of whatever chord the song is using at the time) - How long do you reckon it would take me to pull that off?
Congratulations really. Learning cello as an adult is so hard , it requires high determination , hard work , believing yourself even you see no progress for a long time. I know how hard it is to fight against my own judgements about progressing on cello over the years. I started learning cello after age of 30 about 10 years ago as an hobby , last couple years became more serious about it. I had a lot of up and downs , but after all , I can say , even I struggle a lot , I love it ! I started a youtube channel to share my progress. I hope you check my videos sometime ! All the Best..
I just start cello lessons last 0ctober 2020..I am adult beginner age 38 and my height is about 155cm to 157cm. Should I change my cello size to 7/8 or 3/4?
We hope you enjoyed our video lesson.
We will be waiting for your comments and suggestions!

Thank you for the encouraging words! It is hard work, but very rewarding have the experience of
finally learning to play such a beautiful instrument.
Wonderful!

This is just what I need! I literally bought a cello last week and due to COVID, can’t find a teacher. So Thanks for posting! 👍🏻
