S'been a while eh? I guess it was a weird year of lockdowns (still going at this stage!) and pipe organs. How odd. Anyway, good to be back on the horse! Cheers mate.
Just stopped by for a relaxing, face-melting, mind-blowing experience before dinner. I am quite satisfied with the entire excursion! 🤩😊 On an absolutely real note, you never fail to amaze. Fucking epicly radical.
Cheers Marshall, appreciate you popping through! It's a bit of a dream team combo, that's for sure. Might be time to shuffle things around for good measure, but I've been deep diving this rig for a couple of weeks and whether it's serendipity or just a good layout the tunes have been falling out of it!
Haha yeah every time I wonder if I need more gear, I just remember what Ehsan can do with a Digitakt, Digitone, Circuit and Mono Station :D. Usually stops me gassing for more gear. (That said, I still want to finish my setup off with a Hydrasynth and a Peak :D)
Very lovely Ehsan, what could be interesting to try in your setup is a gate or filter (which you snap instead of swell) that you sequence. I do this through a plugin currently (though I think it is possible to do OTB too). It gives special textures on something like a pad. To have it sound less aggressive you can put a reverb at the end. When doing this with different synthesizers but with the gate sequence set at different open/close positions it turns into a special rhythmically sound.
Really good job mixing. Any one of those powerful synths can take over or worse all together they can sound very muddy but everything sits very well. You've got some nice toys there glad to see it's not gathering dust. Buchlas always look like candy too and it makes me want one so bad.
Woooow.....nice composition set! I'm still trying to figure out how to overlap so many tracks together. My stuff: VirusTI2, Moog Subsequent 37, Elektron Analog 4, Nord Lead 4, Roland System 8, Roland TR 8S, Roland MC707, Roland MX-1, Nord Wave2, Sequential Take5, Waldorf Iridium, Native Instruments Maschine Studio, N.I. Maschine Jam. I'm using the Maschine Studio as the main clock and sequencer, than the Roland MX-1 is on slave controlling few of the synths. Most of the synths have step sequencer. I can do complex tracks, everything stays on sync, but I didn't figure out yet how to transition from one track to the next. Are you using a DAW? What you doing is beautiful!!!
Has the Iridium been an indispensable addition to your setup? I’m fighting the urge to splurge on one, debating on whether to instead get a nice analog. (DM12 is my only poly atm) … Can you get it to sound close to analog if you try for that, or is it always noticeably digital?
Great as usual! Whats your favorite drum machine? Digitakt appears in many of your vids, its great! Have you used rytm? What you think if so? Any other?
Hey! I do love the Digitakt, the fact that it has all that midi sequencing power alongside a very clever drum computer which let's me flow through a long set is pretty hard to beat. Rytm is awesome too, I just lean more towards sampled drums and the synergy afforded with sequencing and percussion. There are no wrong answers!
@@EhsanGelsi wow! thanks for the reply :) Yea I have both and feel myself leaning towards DT all the time, feels bad because it's like ~1/3 the price but it just has so much power in such a great form factor!
@@jparty No probs! Lucky you having both of them! Rytm seriously rocks - best analogue drum machine in the world no doubt! If I can just suggest one little pearl of wisdom/madness for you - never equate the price of an instrument with the musical value that it represents! $$$ does not in any way whatsoever equal 🎶🎶🎶 - and no amount of $$$ will make music for you. Fancy, expensive, and rare things are very nice to have, but if you're doing it right, you can get the same enjoyment and results with damn well near anything. In fact, there's a whole virtue in doing it for pennies rather than with thousands of dollars - it can be hard to cut through the consumerist hype (I know, I'm as vulnerable to it as everyone else!) - but it's worthwhile to always have running in the back of your mind that it's the person behind the machine making the thing that sounds good, not the machine. Hope you're having a blast with your rig, just like I do with mine!!! :)
Ehsan, great to see you doing these synth compositions again! Really love the deep bass and awesome progressions!

The chord progression and arpeggio at 16:32 give me energy and makes me vibe, every single time.
And the whole section leading to it gives me shivers :-)
I wish this recording was a bonus track of As It Ever Was ;-)
This work is very nice, indeed.
One of the best live performances I have heard. Beautiful, exciting and it makes you flow.
This is soooo good, one of the best live performances I've heard in a while. Beautiful.
i always thought this is how DJs should rock the crowd. real created music.
hmmmm, ¿where is the dj?
Ehsan’s back. Time to start another room renovation.
Ha! Yes!
Sweet groove there mate.

Man, this setup really goes great together sonically. Paird with your skills and talent this was an epic and very enjoyable set!

I'm not even sorry mate!

Absolute mastery. Damn.

This is exellent. Best Synth Liveset i have seen!!!
This is incredible, beautiful work.
Great as always
Awesome mate! Don't know how you manage to deliver so many ace riffs. Reminds me of the tracks you did with the Peak/Summit.....
1:44 That BASS! You really make your synths sing.
Hey thank you for this!

You and me both, my feline friend
Great session! 👍👍👍
all these gorgeous textures, seems a shame to be limited to just 2 audio channels, have you ever considered 5.1 audio?
Super!!! That bass is solid! 👍
Ehsan I always get so much gear envy every time I tune in

Awesome stuff man. Would be really interested to see your recording, mixing, and mastering process as well.
I think there are a couple of videos a while back that explain the process and setup. Hope that helps.
Hot damn, that’s some hella nice kit! .. I’m jelly
Kick ass groove too …
Speechless...

full goosebumps at 33:00... nice!
This is lovely! What are / were your thoughts on the Iridium? I notice it doesnt come up much in your vids
MOOG System 55?? Did you win the lottery?
Yeah, this is how it should sound!
truly EPIC!
Thx for stopping by Tim!
Epic !!!🔥🔥🔥🚀🚀🚀
nice stuff!
Fantastic B.I.G Fan

That sound at 14:00 is beautiful. Love unique, slightly detuned sounds like that. Is it coming from the Iridium or something else?
Hey! The sorta glassy top notes? That's the OB-6 :)
Powerful indeed. Assuming Cubase is just there as mixer and tape recorder ?
You got it - I'm just running everything into Cubase for mixin'n'recordin - everything's coming from the boxes.
Awesome music Ehsan, on question do you mostly use teh Digitak for sequencing the patterns?
Cheers! It's all sequenced by the Digitakt in fact!
glorious. whats running the basses at 18:00?
Thx for stopping by :) All the basses are outta the big Moog 🤘
i want a wadorf so bad but dam they're expensive.
Brutally

@@EhsanGelsi that is really good advice! It's so easy to get caught up in the next cool thing! Thanks!!!
Lovely!
One question though, Where are the sequences coming from?
Thx! Everything is sequenced from the Digitakt in front of me :)
@@EhsanGelsi ahh awesome! Nice Hybrid setup, the Buchla sounds sublime.
Is that bass the system 55? It’s so good
You got it! It's that big ol Moog bass!
What are the rythym tracks? bass drum and etc. is it a midi sequence from the digitakt or the digitakt samples itself?
The Digitakt is the drum machine and midi sequencer for everything, so it's just samples in the takt.
@@EhsanGelsi Thank you. And your compositions are truly treasured as well!
