i am so madly in love with everything hope sandoval touches....i've spent, in excess of $400 on ebay, just for posters, and promotionals of her and mazzy star. she is such a recluse, and hates being filmed..i guess thats why anything that you can find with an actual picture of her, is beyond rare. mazzy star will forever be one of my all time favorite bands, as well as hope sandoval...cant forget her EP!

Pitch-perfect voices don't automatically make great music, and consequently, great music doesn't necessarilly require a pitch-perfect voice. It is the flaws in her singing that give it charm, and make it more real to the listener. If thses songs had been pitch-perfect, they would not be nearly as good.
They should release an anthology that includes all the b-sides, along with the unreleased Going Home lp ... congrats seasons of your day debuted @ #42!
what kind of pompous bastard would ever say that. and who is the person who determines what is "bad" and "good" singing? It's all subject to interpretation. Go back 2 centuries and most of the singers of today wouldn't even be considered real singers.
***** I don't think he meant it in an insulting way at all. I think he meant that he liked singers which others thought "couldn't sing", but it was exactly that quirky quality of their vocals that appealed to him. Me, I purr-sonally can't stand Auto-Tuned vocalz, ha. That junk creepz me out.
She's a great singer. She knows how to make the song sounding good.. witch needs a lot of feeling / musicality. Maybe some singers have more technic.... A lot of Tennis men have a better technic than Nadal..but Nadal is the best... Do not mix "technic" and "level". She's a great singer.
@oldmillcig "The Other Side" is just a bootleg CD that someone put together. It's actually officially available on the Flowers in December single, as the 2nd b-side to the 2nd CD (that was a weird release - 2 different sets of b-sides for the same single).

@matrags I guess I left a comment like that because I have a right to my opinion and I'm far from a fool where music and singing are concerned, simplicity in music can work so well but I don't feel this does, the guitar is grating and again I will say she's off key in this particular song. this is awful, she's singing out of key and that guitar yikes, can't listen to anymore of it and before yee all give out tellin me shes famous,so are an awful lot of other dreadful singers!
Andie Dee OK you have a good point but calling her a dreadful singer when she clearly isn't just shows is way out of line and shows how much of a dreadful person you are to the world. If you want people to respect your opinions and not judge you about it, then be civil and give an honest judgement, show yourself some self respect and others will do the same. Have a nice day.

This is a beautiful song. Hope's voice is so fantastic and haunting. The song is easy on the soul.
