    • @Novastar.SaberCombat
      @Novastar.SaberCombat 3 года назад +1

      @Rocko Art Decor... scientists or corporations keep track of large chunks in a similar way that we look for (most) everything else: computer simulations based on hard data and detection methods (telescope, spectrometer, lidar, etc.).
      Also, once an object has a trajectory, it's pretty much going to remain fixed (the trajectory, NOT the object), so... we know what orbit it is in, and once we track even TWO locations of the same piece... we know everything we need to divine the speed at which the piece is traveling AND the path (trajectory) as it loops around Earth's magneto-sphere.
      Ultimately, there are *SO* daemn many pieces (all traveling close to the speed of sound, give or take)... yup, humankind has made major mistakes by failing to regulate it.
      A bunch of races against Time:
      CORPORATIONS: Hurry up and launch tons!
      HUMANKIND: Hurry up and benefit the world!
      SCIENTISTS: Hurry with the regulations.
      LIGHTWORKERS: Clean it up before the Kessler effect seems like kid n' play once 2-6 pieces collide into others...
      If even TWO major things go wrong, it could result in 50% or more of the current satellites becoming space nachos in a matter of HOURS (not days, mind you). IT'S SIMPLE MATHEMATICS.
      The Earth's diameter is only ~8000 miles. Satellites and debris travel at ~14,000+ mph, so, they loop Earth every day or so.
      I may need to check my #s, but I believe those are correct (or, same ballpark).

    Hers how to solve it: 2 Drones with ionic propulsion drives with a huge titanium net between them guided by AI fly above earth in low or no gravity areas in orbit where all the junk is and wrangle/catch a heap at a time, and bring it to a waiting in high orbit garbage vessel that has a focused electro-magnetic gravity well opening at one end underneath it to suck up all the garbage from the nets, dozens of drone pairs doing this could clean it up. Additional Drones with robotic arms can clean up any xtra floating about the garbage hauler. The hauler can compress it into a cube inside it and eject/send it with force into outer space, the sun or back to earth to burn up in the atmosphere or to purposefully crash land it at a specific location for later collection, or dig a huge hole in the ground, multi layer with the strongest metal nets available to stretch out when catching falling cubes for later collection.

    • @nemod3338
      @nemod3338 Год назад

      LOL. You clearly do not understand the basics of physics behind orbiting process in space. I guess you are influenced by Hollywood-style space travel, without the gravity and inertia. TMost important thing is - it cost a lot of money to send any rocket up with a very limited payload. Nobody cares about the cleanness of space at the moment. It is not economically practicable. As I said before your lack of understanding of very physics in space makes your ideas impossible. Every movement out there happens in orbits (circles), not in straight lines as planes and helicopters do. Any instant manoeuvre in space requires a massive amount of energy. If you conserve energy you will waste a massive amount of time and cycles. In order for one object to intercept another, the first must match the second's orbit (speed and direction). If you try to catch a speeding object from another orbit, you will create a devastating collision (undesirable in space as the speed of satellites and debris is at least 18'000 mph ). In order to send an item back to Earth you must slow its speed (retrograde), it uses a lot of energy. In order to propel an item into outer space you must speed up that item (prograde), it uses a massive amount of energy too. Sending debris into outer orbits does not solve the problem. Every time you want to dock to your collector, you need to match its orbit and speed, which takes a lot of time and energy. Regarding "send/eject" debris into Sun, lol, it's not possible as you need to prograde and escape Earth's gravity, then retrograde around the Sun until your speed becomes 14'000 mph, then you will fall to Sun. current Earth's speed around the Sun is 67'000 mph. To slow from 67'000 to under 14'000 mph you will need a massive amount of energy. If you want to understand the basics of space travel and how things work in space I suggest you try KSP game (simulator). It's a fun game, but very educational.

Already are millions of metal pieces which fly in speed of bullet of gun. And some stupid by pride companies announcing to set in orbit hundreds of new satellites. But in fact it significantly increase probability of collision one with another. The true solution is to built less satellites but far more effective. Bigger but more useful. And the companies which took the mission of clean up the orbit from this cartridges are most valuable.

      That how orbits work. The acceleration was from launch. Once there is little to no atmosphere things don't slow down very quickly on their own.
      They do however eventually begin to lose their velocity, but it takes many years for them to slow down enough in order to re-enter and burn up. This factors in a lot of other things like size, altitude, weight, and the type of orbit. Things in lower earth orbit still have a fraction of atmosphere, but some are very far out and would take theoretically forever to slow down enough to re-enter.

    We know the problem now what's the solution maybe someone needs to go in the space junk business remember the old saying another man's junk is another man's treasure this will be a profitable business.
