It reminds me of my great friend Moses Lepiile Longwari. He is a samburu, we schooled together at maseno University from 2015-2019. Interestingly, we stayed in the same room in Maseno University, when we were first years, at third year we stayed together too. We had formed a two man group where we used to discuss each unit after classes and for your information we were doing different courses but we shared 6 units. Through God's grace we both scored first class honors. I am telling you my friends, this Samburu guys are very good people to interact with. We never wrangled during the said period. One important thing that makes me love this song is that during the week of graduation, he resided at my place in western Kenya and I played for him this song on the date he was leaving back to Samburu. He was extremely grateful with his dad and uncle. This song is a basis of unity in KENYA I love it. We are still connected through phone calls and whatsapp. He is currently in Meru town and am in Nairobi. May God bless Kenya.
.......Itakuwa furaha kuonana teena. Hata kwa mwaka mara mooja.... John Peter Ngereza, Issa Juma wakiwa na Sijali Salum Zuwa, Phoney Mkwayule, Tom Malanga nk wakitawala anga la Africa Mashariki. Dah Old is Gold. Nikiwa Kijitonyama Dar es Salaam, nikikumbuka na kusikiliza a real music
kwa kweli mziki mtamu huishi milele, now this is me here 2024 listening and enjoying the song accompanied by the deep message,,,we love you samburu people,God bless Kenya at whole
This song is so nostalgic. Makes you long for days gone. For friends made and lost. For friends who stayed. For memories made in those days. What a song! Hats off Les Wanyika.
Sitasahu na huu wimbo.I remember in 2001 when i was in form 2 and only sister was in Boarding school in class 7.When she was going back for school opening, i would escort her and one day, this song played and i started crying when i saw her off.In 2017, i hold a JKUAT degree in IT and an established web developer and my sister is a high school teacher, so when this song play, we both laugh and we dont cry. Thanks to the best songs.
My dad lived in Kenya as a teen, he came back to Uganda in 1989 to marry and move to kampala, the same year I was born, I started listening to these songs as I started understanding, they remind me of the unity that our fathers had, they visited each other at least every weekend, I enjoyed listening to their old stories as they reminded each other of their olden days, he could sing the whole song
The first friendship I made when i joinef MTC Nairobi in 2003 was with this beautiful n good hearted samburu lady. We're still goid friends to date. May God protect you.
I lived in Maralal for one year doing some engineering works. Let me tell you, that is a very distant but lovely place to stay. The Samburu are very hospitable. I enjoyed endless flow of all kinds of meat and milk. Anyone can plan a trip there, now that the road to the town is fully tarmacked from Nyahururu town. And this song? It wets my eyes with awesome memories of Maralal.
the ever timeless "safari ya samburu" how i long to go back there. last i checked, Josephina was running a club in maralal town, Dr. maina had shifted his Africanah herbal clinic to lithuli avenue, just down Ramogi studios and " Ndugu Omollo" , who was then a local magistrate is a sitting high court judge. How time passes!
I normally find myself listening to this song many times it reminds me of samburu back in 2015 when I used to sell capes👒 hooking around samburu town and at night I used to pass by through Club 3D and club 7s. I miss samburu people good heart and welcoming their made me feel more than home I do miss coming back guys samburu to the world. Respect to samburu safaris 🚍especially premier league. Greetings to samburu people all the way from IRAQ Bagdad. Samburu we shall be back one day love you guys 🤝🙏🙏
Surely one of the best songs ever from Les Wanyika. I wish I was alive during the 70's and early 80's. I envy people who were old enough then to enjoy this true happiness and peace.
