Though the progress is actually great since last 2yrs, yes it could have gotten completed before 2026 now it will take 2027/2028, so what? this is our first HSR route, we will get comfortable slowly with building it like we are now with Subways. *Fact: India has metros/subways in 15 cities with 568km(15+ cities) under construction* *Democracy in a nutshell everything is slow in democratic countries, same with Cali's HSR.* Tho i will stand by my statement that as you showed in the video HSR project ain't that slow, Indonesian HSR had just 110km length which they started in 2017, India's project length is 508.09km started in 2019, a very sloppy intro too by B1M.

All projects are important in India. As an Indian, I can say India needs many solutions. No one solution is good enough for all sections of the society. We need to have conventional railways which are being upgraded, we need separate freight corridors which are also being constructed, we need high speed rail as well as high speed expressways. The population and the scale of the problem demands all.
Land acquisition is main problem for the development in india. Plus, environmentalists, politicians will always knock your door whenever any construction. start.
Most of the people don’t have problem with land accusations as they are very handsomely paid but the biggest problem is politics the state government doesn’t want centre projects to be completed even though it will definitely benefit people in the longer run

I find it fascinating how these major construction problems around the world always run into these same problems of slow land acquisition, unexpectedly inhospitable terrain, environmentalists, and local political obstruction, and yet always plan optimistically as if they won't suffer from these problems. Are there even any construction projects on this scale which don't go years past their initial schedule?
The best thing about this is that it’s the legendary Shinkansen system coming to India. The OG bullet train with the most ridership overall and zero accidents to date. Japan is helping india in HSR and India is helping Japan in its space program. A win-win for both nations.

You can see the air traffic between Mumbai and other cities to gauge affordability. Air traffic in India is growing in double digits. And major airports are running out of gates and parking slots. India’s economy is expected to be close to $4 trillion by the end of this year and is still growing fast. I think a 10000 mile HSR in India is eminently doable.
Good video. Being an Indian and having traveled across Europe in HS rail, I would say this project is of absolute necessity to elevate the economy to the next level. Today, the middle class in India travel mostly through flights, thanks to govt schemes like UDAN and airlines like Indigo which have brought people out of victorian rail system. So, when the HS rail network is up and running, we will have plenty of takers for it, don't forget that both Gujarat and Maharashtra have enormously wealthy and tenacious individuals who would love to travel in bullet trains. As regards to the delay in construction, it must be attributed to our judicial system which is slow and often populist. But we are developing and we will have a full HSR network by 2040.

@@RobespierreThePoof I disagree with this notion that somehow huge population is reason for slow development. It's not. China had the largest population for the majority of 20th and 21st century and their population was not a problem for development. The problem in India has always been political will. Anything can be done with enough political will. US has literally fought wars on lies and made trillions out of it only because they had political will to do so. Only recently in India do we have a government that has enough political will to get over all the division that was created in the country for the last 75 years and actually work on some real problems. China and especially Japan built their own railways based on what they know they need with routes serving their major population centres. India's railway was built by the British to link resource centres with factories and ports, completely ignoring civilian train networks. Since 1947 India has had to readapt this rail system based on resource and wealth extraction to serve them and their people instead of an extractive foreign power. This definitely makes it harder for them but it is good to see it is going well.
@keepgrinding23 I like it when people talk like street Drunked Illiterate peoples. Only fools can claim this china developed all things by itself when we all know Germany helped china in building its High speed railways. 🤣😂🤣
@keepgrinding23 India has a major penality, it has to build it in a country with a (sometimes relative, I'll recognise it) respect of rule of law. The engineering is definitely easier for them than for China. But the legal and administrative framework (and thus, the cost), may be really really problematic for India.
Indian railway networks are not "Aging" as you have mentioned...the overcrowded clips that you keep showing are all from a single city's local network, which is Mumbai local trains, which is what is aging..The national network has seen massive upgradation in recent years, which includes almost doubling of electrification(it's 85%+ now), automation of signalling systems both hardware and softwarewise, continuous upgradation of railway coaches from older ICF to LHBs and now the newer Vandebharat rakes(which you showed only one cropped image), building two dedicated freight corridors, continuous upgradation of tracks to make it suitable for semi high speed trains etc..... Of course, just like the country of India, there are several layers in the railway system too and it's impossible to bring changes to everything at once.....just changing one layer is equal to an overhaul of a mid size country....but all you keep showing is the mumbai locals...because it suits the image that matches with the perception when you hear India as a foreigner.
Well calling it aging is not wrong, with nearly 16 000 people dead alone in 2022 in train related accidents. India still has LONG way to go. Best of luck!
It's literally a video about a train starting in Mumbai. Footage of trains in Mumbai are perfectly relevant. Upgradation is also not a word used anywhere outside your subcontinent.
Another excellent segment, I did note the metric was in the American Imperial system with "miles" but India uses kilometers like the rest of planet Earth.
The thing with that train accident, that particular train was not operating on the indigenously developed system called “kavach”, which is designed to prevent such instances from occurring, and since then the pace of bringing trains into this system has increased too. Yes the infrastructure is old and the work on upgrading these tracks has already started and in progress, but due to the vast size of this network it takes time and a lot money to do so.
you say it as if majority of trains operate with kavach deployed, very few do. indian railways has long been neglected by governments and still continues to be and "since then the pace of bringing trains into this system has increased" sounds like a very apologist take to deflect some of the blame from the existing government. Absence of kavach wasn't the only reason for the accident, railways continues to be understaffed and the government has done nothing to fill millions of vacancies.
@@YuruCampSupermacygovernment have literally increased railway budget year after year it increased from 1.40 lakh crore to 2.40 lakh crore. Current government have done lot from track replacement to metro (especially up) to rrts and especially unmmaned railway crossing but nothing is enough so sadly for atleast another decade you will see accident both bcz of government incompetence or lack of fund .

1:19 Most of the Deaths are not because of Train accidents but because of collision with train or by falling from the train (Mostly in Suburban Trains)
The Mumbai suburban trains have power operated sliding doors. The only time they are closed is when the train is standing in a siding during the rainy season. Even so the safety of the trains is better than that of travelling by road. In India the fare for two people to travel by train is less than the cost of the petrol for them to travel on one small motorcycle. In my country the UK if you own a luxury car it will usually be cheaper to use this to go somewhere than to make the same journey on your own by train.
Nah man Mumbai Suburban doesn't have automatic doors. It's open. Only the air conditioning ones have the automatic doors which are very low anyways. Mumbai is locked by water on all three sides as it's a peninsula that's one of the major reasons why there can't be many road ways or good railway infrastructure can be built because it's already so dense.

For the past 10 years, its been run by a development first stable political majority that has picked up the pace that has been lacking for many years. While I agree that conventional systems need to be improved, the sheer size and complexity of the entire country means these things take time. We have already seen an increase in the number of initiatives being implemented for improving current systems. I hope these projects bear fruit in the future, and people from all walks of life benefit from them.
I take issue with your introduction to India's trains. There are a good number of well run train lines that feature comfortable and well equipped carriages. On my last visit to India in 2015 I could reserve my ticket online before arriving in India, get on at the right carriage that stopped at the right place on the platform, enjoy clean and functioning interiors with working USB charger points. There was no overcrowding and I could show my eTicket on my phone to the ticket inspector. Oh and the train was on time. There are also AC first class carriages. Your intro shows crowded urban commuter trains. Very sloppy intro by B1M.

Funny how people only see ticket sales being the only way to recoup the money and the question if we need bullet train is even weirder. Did India need a space program? No. But today other countries use Indian satellite launchers and ISRO is earning money. The Delhi metro has been so successful that other countries want to emulate the cost effective measures of Delhi metro and implementing the same in their cities. India will be soon exporting vande bharat coaches to European countries because it is made at a much cheaper price and at the same standards.
No country (only poor African ) will take vande bharat and it is not cheap also there better alternative than vb in India itself check westbengal titagarh wagon
I think talking about needing it to pay for itself (through ticket sales and stuff?) is a bit silly. The train could create more job opportunities which would lead to a more productive economy and thus a higher tax take for the government.
Exactly. People never seem to complain when new roads don't "pay for themselves", because everyone understnads it's obtuse to ignore the benefits they provide to the wider economy, yet trains don't seem to get the same free pass...

If India (Bharat) can build an high-speed railway of scale similar to China over the next few decades they will set themselves up for generations. I partially agree that investing in conventional rail will benefit a greater proportion of the population now, but investing in this technology now will cause a snowball effect as it will stimulate domestic industry and talent. B1M promotes national and global defeatism with its insistance that transport infrastructure be funded from user charges. The responsible economic approach is to meet capital costs from general economic taxes while fares cover operating costs
This is common but not universally agreed with. It effectively hides choices with poor capital cost efficiencies from the users, and allows central planning bureaucrats in charge of capital disbursement override local needs and preferences. It’s not *wrong*… but not understanding its disadvantages under particular governments isn’t a good planning approach.
I was against it until I learned of the GIFT city. Now this makes perfect sense. Connecting the Financial Gateway to the Financial center of India for mass transport.
Building a high speed train doesn't mean just a shiny fast train. It brings along many by products with it that can be used in other aspects of the society. I’m Chinese and am very happy for India’s achievement. Japan has excellent technology, and China doesn’t have the aspiration or the manpower to build EVERY country’s high speed rail. Until the English colonised India (and fought a war to force China to buy opium, which was grown in India😢), the Indian subcontinent and China were the top two economies in the world for more than 1000 years. Who’s to say we don’t both deserve good infrastructure?
Interesting video. Would be interesting to see one showing possibly similar issues as to the Philippines' attempt to revive its railways and solve perennial traffic congestion in Manila
A lot of the complaints about prioritizing high-speed trains over the "regular" train network is non-sense. Both Japan and Spain which have very successful train networks had to build completely new tracks as well. Simply upgrading existing tracks won't do on the busiest corridors and will lead to frequent train disruptions during upgrade work (that can last for years) while still costing as much money as building new ones.
FYI - government is also rapidly upgrading to New safer faster coaches (LHB) they have also introduced new semi high speed units across nation as you have mentioned (vande Bharat express), they have also upgrading tracks for faster safer operations. Government has also constructed the Western and Eastern dedicated freight corridor to Decongest the main lines. Complete Redevelopment of existing railway station are under construction across nation and they are modern state of the art.
The overall tone of this video is “India doesn’t deserve a bullet train”. B1m is usually very enthusiastic about projects anywhere in the world but it seems their bias is overpowering in this video
What do you expect from Western Left wing about Indias rapid progress under center right wing Modi government, just ignore this stupid left wing peoples and their half brain ignorant audiances😂😂 illinformed comment
The recent tragic accident notwithstanding, I found the overarching narrative in this video out of date. India’s railways are more electrified than European, East Asian and North American ones. This is a major factor driving better efficiency. Unmanned level crossings, a key factor driving accidents, have been reduced drastically. Trains in India are not as luxurious as those in wealthier regions, but they are extremely affordable. Everyday you have multiple options to travel from Mumbai to Delhi for $7 (1400km). For contrast, the cheapest flight is $50.
@@Wisteria__Lane the only country thats more electrified than India in terms of length is China, some western countries may be 100% electrified but India electrifiying 84k km is more than those countries length combined. (Excluding European Union cause thats a cluster of countries)
> India’s railways are more electrified than European, East Asian and North American ones. It's great to see India progress but consider the following. India's rail network length per square km, let alone per capita is pretty low compared to Japan or Western Europe, despite comparable numbers of passenger-kilometers per capita. Electrification only makes sense for well used lines. So % of rail network electrified might not mean as much as you think. Statistically India has not yet built out the deep rail network coverage that other big rail use countries partially chose not to electrify to avoid wasting money.
India and China also have over a 1b people. E.g. India has about 5 times more electrified rail km than France but 20 times the population. On the other hand, India's economic output per capita is only about 15% of France's. So India's rail network is still pretty good, compared to it's economic development level and I am sure it will continue to improve and will eventually reach rich country levels.
@@Wisteria__Lane > Swiss railways are obviously better Swiss rail is awesome. But Switzerland is also the richest country on the planet that uses passenger rail :)
India is also investing in strengthening the current railway infrastructure. So, it is not a trade-off between traditional railways and other forms of railways. Traditional railways are upgraded and extended using budgetary resources. Bullet trains and metro trains are built on funding from combination of Centre, State, and various foreign and domestic funding agencies.
As a tourist O am very much looking forward to that high speed network. In China it is very convenient. You can do spontaneous days trips to cities hundreds of kilometres away. For example a trip from Shanghai to Nanjing.
Good choice for working with Japan. Here in Ottawa, they gave the contract to a French company to build a light rail train. That thing breaks down every two minutes.
The current government in India has clear plans on how they want to bring Indian infrastructure to world class levels. Thats why we are going with Bullet trains. Yes we have challanges with political parties delaying the projects but route between Mumbai amdavad will be super helpful for growth of the region.
U should have mentioned the rapid expansion of India's metro network. It's kind of same, first we build a project and then rapidly expand it in other parts of country, the first project will always takes much much more time.
Less Govt interference vs Govt interference both in the same project, considering Gujarat construction was MUCH faster than Maharashtra(due to govt) shows what DEMOCRACY does to a big country. India doesn't deserve democracy, that's a fact and i will stand by this statement, India can never be compared to China where you can build anything with no OPPOSITION, NGOs. Funny most people brush this thing off but is the biggest hurdle in the comparison.
And media still compare us with pakistan by saying 'we were on the same page at the time of independence'... This needs to stop we need to compare ourselves with china and achieve the goal
Nearly 16000 people died in 2022 that is 45 people everday, out of which 2500 only in mumbai Suburban rail. Soon with mumbai metro and ac coach of Mumbai local these rates are going to fall. Also govt is bringing 400 vande Bharat( 75 chair car,200 slepper, and 100 vande3). Tracks are also being getting upgraded to 160 km/hr (now its 130km/hr) , with fencing, trains are being upgrading with anti collision system kavach, indigenous signalling system is being made for indian railways as the European signalling system cost to much for indian railways. Withthat operational metro in 15 cities (810km) and 10 cities in under-construction. With that regional rapid railways in delhi. These things are going to change wait till max 2030 you will see these no drastically decrease. Thanks team b1m team for your coverage on india❤

Easily the best partnership I've seen yet. We definitely need to get more bricks into more kids hands. My parents were frugal, so I had the Lego-compatible off brands and a few select actual Lego sets in the era before everything was an expensive partner project with some licensed IP. Anything that is being built first in the country (India) will take time..its about trials and errors as well as trying to overcome it. India's first Metro/Subway System in Kolkata took decades to get built..followed by Delhi Metro which took one decade or less to get built to now where such transit projects are being completed in record 2 years timeline... Similar trajectory will be followed in the case of High Speed Rail Network. First High Speed Train Project will take prolly till 2030 to be completely Operational and Running while the lessons learned during this project will be used for better project management on the future High Speed Rail Networks.. I guess by 2040 we will see a decent High Speed Rail Network coming up in the country.. What's even cooler is going to be integration of various Mass Transit Systems ( Metro Rail) with the High Speed Rail ( Eg: Mumbai Metro and Ahemdabad Metro being integrated with the upcoming Mumbai-Ahemdabad High Speed Rail Network)
I think, we are doing amazing in so short time, we have developed semi bullet train and now we are developing high speed bullet train indigenously, it is not less achievement for us, hope, ii will be complated within 2026, love and respect from WestBengal, India.

Dear B1M, The video was informative, but it looks like there were some points about the recent developments about the Indian railways, that were ignored/overlooked. 1. Electrification of the rail lines - 91% of the world's fourth largest and second-most dense railway system, i.e. Indian railways, have been electrified. To put into perspective, China is at 80%, and the Swiss are at 70%. 2. Indigenous Semi High Speed Rail - Under the Atmanirbhar Bhaarat (Self-reliant India) Initiaitve, the government of India has STOPPED importing anything for the construction of a Semi High Speed train, called the Vande Bhaarat Express. It is an engine-less train which has the quickest acceleration and deceleration mechanisms in the world. Practically, the prices are almost the same, with automations and safety being the most important aspects of the same. 3. KaVach - This is another indigenous technology, that works as an anti collision braking system that most of the train engines in India are now equipped with. I agreee with the lack of safety mechanisms in the railways, but the number of accidents and mishaps have reduced drastically in the last 10 years. 4. Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs) - The government of India is also building Dedicated corridors for the movement of goods and freight trains all across the country, and a few sections of the North-South Freight Corridor are already operational. They have even introduced triple decker container trains, the collective tonnage of whom is the driving factor behind planning the tracks' capacities. 5. Semi High Speed Rail - The government is not one-dimensionally focussed on building a high-speed rail, while ignoring the middle steps. To connect the cities of Delhi and Meerut in the National Capital Region, there is a semi-high speed rail planned, and is almost operational, with the trial runs in progress right now (you have a video on the same as well). Again, from the concrete used and the steel produced, to the coaches under construction and the technologies implemented, everything has been developed by and in India. This model of connecting the cities has proven efficient in most of the areas, and is hence being replicated raplidly in other states of the country. 6. The Metro Rail - Not exclusively a part of the Indian Railways, a lot of the shots showed in this video showed over-crowded trains with people hanging off the open doors. Although I do not deny its existence (of course not), an important distinction needs to be highlighted here. These shots are of the local trains of Mumbai, that the commuters take everyday to travel shorter distances. Again, that does not exclusively operate under Indian railways, and hence talking about the metro systems is also important. India now has 25+ cities (as compared to 4 in 2014) with operational metro lines, with 50 more cities with under construction lines. Talking specifically about Mumbai, there are 2 newly-opened lines, while 8 more metro lines under construction. The local trains are also being upgraded, but ofcourse it will take time, no denial there. 7. The Railway Stations - 190 railway stations of the major cities are being renovated from scratch, and 300 more are in the planning stages. For your reference, look at the Rani Kamlapati Railway Station, and the Bangaluru Railway Station and the Gandhinagar Railway Station, to understand what the new stations are looking like. This upgradation has been undertaken simulataneous to all the other important undertaking of Indian Railways. 8. Reduced Dependancy on Locomotive Engines - While the locomotive engines still make up a majority of the functionalities of Indian Railways, the government has explored many other areas. Solar engines are a heading that they are working towards, but apart from that, there are ethanol fuel engines for light rail commute already being discussed and prototyped. 9. Cleanliness - Although there is a lack of civic sense among passengers when it comes to public transport, the Indian railways have streamlined their actions when it comes to cleanliness of the stations and the trains. The train compartments are cleaned after every commute, and again, indegenous technology for cleaning have already been implemented across 400 stations in the country. 10. Infrastructure and expansion to challenging terrains - India is home to some of the World's most challenging terrains. From the peaks of Himlayas to the sand dunes of Thar Desert, the Indian railways are constantly expanding and upgrading, connecting remote towns and villages with the rest of the country. Just to mention one of the many facts, India has created a world record in constructing the world's highest arched bridge in Kashmir (an area in the foothills of the himalayas), which happens to be a lot taller than the Eiffel Tower. 11. There are a number of other areas with drastic improvements in the related areas of E-ticketing, sustainable development, on-board services and vastly improved punctuality, which has turned the Indian Railways into one of the most profitable government sectors in the past 5 years. Hence, given the foresightedness, a bullet train was proposed back in 2014-15, while the other areas of Indian Railways were simultaneously upgraded. I do not deny the issues highlighted in the video at all, but they seem to reflect only one side of a much more complex story. To someone who has not visited India ever (or since a long time), this video may come off as showing the Indian railways and the different governments, in a bad light. Let's not do that.

The population and the scale of the problem demands all.

The United States pulled itself out of economic depression with similar large-scale projects 90 years ago. The investment was a huge success and poised the country to step up to the enormous economic and industrial challenge of WWII less than a decade later, launching the U.S. into a global superpower.
I mean just look at this very project. Land acquisition had been a long problem under Uddhav Government but as soon as Eknath came into the power, all the problems were sorted. The Mumbai Costal Road that was always in debate has gained significant traction and is progressing rapidly.
Indians are aspirational and anything that helps them move in the direction that they aspire to be is welcomed with open arms by the vast majority of the people.

Yeah, it sucks when the Brits screwed you over with a really bad system.
I like this take, the acknowledgement of the real purpose the British 'built' the railways in India, rare, but refreshing to see.
@@egomaniac1209It still is really interesting, how Tata managed to emerge through the building of the network by the british.
Blame the British. Knee jerk response.

This is magnified by their population that will peak at 1.8 billion in the coming years, all of whom in the future will require fast transportation around the country. Good luck from Australia
It will not peak to 1.8 billion it will peak to 1.65 billion...and today tfr of India is already 2.0

@@dwarasamudra8889 DOnt worry, the Indian governement has really perfected bulldozing homes. Now it can use it for some good.

B1M promotes national and global defeatism with its insistance that transport infrastructure be funded from user charges. The responsible economic approach is to meet capital costs from general economic taxes while fares cover operating costs
thank you, much needed comment
This is common but not universally agreed with. It effectively hides choices with poor capital cost efficiencies from the users, and allows central planning bureaucrats in charge of capital disbursement override local needs and preferences.
It’s not *wrong*… but not understanding its disadvantages under particular governments isn’t a good planning approach.
I was against it until I learned of the GIFT city. Now this makes perfect sense. Connecting the Financial Gateway to the Financial center of India for mass transport.
Oh wow this is super exciting for the people of India 👍😉💪
Building a high speed train doesn't mean just a shiny fast train. It brings along many by products with it that can be used in other aspects of the society. Like reverse power harvesting motors, traction motors, laser guided safety sensors, etc. This project will bring along a huge change in other industries and products as well.
And as someone who lives in Mumbai and settled in Ahmedabad, I personally need it to visit home frequently
I hope it all goes well! India needs many major projects to help advance its efficiencies and status around the world.
india has many ongoing and many completed like world highest bridge, tunnel, road, stadium, woking office. world records for making fastest road, hospital, now we can setup hospital in 8 mins only. you can see in youtube or google for many more
the dfc project is more important than the bullet train as after the dfc will be completed , in a decade or so indian railways will be on par with global standards as the average speed will increase from 80-90 to 160-200 and for sleeper class around 220 or so. and track upgradation for those speed is already under trial. would like to see a video in depth discussing it
I agree

Another great train-related megaproject that India is working on - Dedicated Freight Corridor or DFC. ... Currently there are two DFCs which are operational (EDFC and WDFC) with many more in the making. @B1M

Esepcially when railway projects have become a chess piece for geopolitical conflicts across the Asia-Pacific.
B1m is usually very enthusiastic about projects anywhere in the world but it seems their bias is overpowering in this video
off course no one wants to see their country come 2nd
What do you expect from Western Left wing about Indias rapid progress under center right wing Modi government, just ignore this stupid left wing peoples and their half brain ignorant audiances😂😂 illinformed comment
They're weirdly obsessed with making India look poor. British people have a chip on their shoulders. Oh well, humse kya
Lmao. It's the British. They can't stomach India's growth.
Some clips are of Pakistan and Bangladesh Railways😁😁 Indian railways doesn't have green trains with Urdu written on them.
Cringe
@@Wisteria__Lane
> Swiss railways are obviously better
Swiss rail is awesome. But Switzerland is also the richest country on the planet that uses passenger rail :)
India is also investing in strengthening the current railway infrastructure. So, it is not a trade-off between traditional railways and other forms of railways. Traditional railways are upgraded and extended using budgetary resources. Bullet trains and metro trains are built on funding from combination of Centre, State, and various foreign and domestic funding agencies.
i am happy that..the future of india's railway system is in japanese hand.🎌

As a tourist O am very much looking forward to that high speed network. In China it is very convenient. You can do spontaneous days trips to cities hundreds of kilometres away. For example a trip from Shanghai to Nanjing.
Good choice for working with Japan. Here in Ottawa, they gave the contract to a French company to build a light rail train. That thing breaks down every two minutes.
French is the second language in Canada, no surprise it's given to French SNCF
On the other hand, India and Japan have shared the common enemy

This is just about one thing, there are other videos about that.
Bringing the country's best infrastructure for railways is the best initiative and this information at one place is very needful 🎉

Yes it is what India needs right now to take us to the next level of development, once you build one you learn from it and the cost to develop more will reduce and this will be the stepping stone to building so many more.
Easily the best partnership I've seen yet. We definitely need to get more bricks into more kids hands. My parents were frugal, so I had the Lego-compatible off brands and a few select actual Lego sets in the era before everything was an expensive partner project with some licensed IP. Munging the two competing systems together along with other less-known brand building toys was a formative experience for me. I don't know how this system will work for the kids who grow up with it, but I think it's the right direction.
They said the same for UPI, and other measures
not even single time they shows Vande Bharat or any Metro trains or even Rajdhani Express's clips of India in the documentary...only they shown slow passanger trains clips
Coz 90% of the trains are that brother. Don’t get disappointed when reality is shown. They show what is majority of everything is vande Bharat train they will have perception of that. We Indian should question that.
More than 100s of stations are redeveloping along with electrification PAN India also semi bullet trains are ramping up, but the fact is this video covers only fractions on projects but it's okay, we take criticism seriously, cuz it's all about INDIA globally overall, & for sure v. India has to start somewhere with bullet trains. If they start today maybe after 5 years they get the first bullet train. Imagine where countries like China will be by then. And if you are worried about demand, trust me trains get fully booked here 3 months in advance just when the booking starts. So it will be full for sure

Quicker than HS2 at least...
California HSR: ☠
I heard HS2 is the same length as this Indian HSR corridor (500 km) and yet HS2 costs more than a $100 Billion whereas India's HSR costs just $21 Billion.
I mean, $100 Billion is the total Civilian Capital Expenditure of India's Central Government this year.
At this point, I'd love to insert the "stop it, get some help" meme.
Cost of upgrading older tracks to semi high-speed, fenced, better signalling system etc is 70% of building a new HSR line altogether.
In india
There are lot of curves in railways
U can only upgrade tracks up to 160 KMPH
And thats semi high speed
And we are building HSR so that stations are less and time reduced
@@Ishantyagiofficial I think we can do 180kph-200 kph soon enough . 160 kph is the near future priority, with 200 kph maybe in a few years.

Dear B1M,
The video was informative, but it looks like there were some points about the recent developments about the Indian railways, that were ignored/overlooked.
The term "indigenous" seems odd to me, as if it would have been translated from a foreign language. I'd prefer "domestic" instead.
finally someone said it
You are absolutely right ...only one sided view point is shown here ..maybe western mindset
I like it how, every time some documentary is made on India, they have to play this sitar and tabla music in background 😂
