    Looks like a beautiful city, definitely a place I would like to visit. On a side note, it seems that there are a lot of people jealous of this city from the comments. It may have some Polska roots, but it is still Ukrainian no matter what. People seems to be speaking Ukrainian and the signs there are in Ukrainian.

      Because Poles that have been majority in Lviv since centuries were kicked out after WWII.

      It wasn't normal to have a Polish city surrounded by millions of Ukrainians. Something was not right about that. Also after WW2 all Ukrainians were transported from Poland to USSR, operation Visla.

    This is a really poor representation of Lviv. You somehow completely missed the main draw of Lviv; it's HUGE historic pedestrian-only city center. It's the best Old Town in Europe, for those that don't know. It contains a full square kilometer of narrow cross-crossings cobblestone streets lined with dozens of stores, cafes, bars, and restaurants. These streets open up into several huge plazas also lined with shopping and nightlife. It's really an amazing place with tons of energy. This guy mostly just walked around a couple of boring business district streets.

      And Poland also have part of Germany in the west because this is compensation for war. Germany didn't pay any money to Poland after WW2

      It looks like Lemberg. Nothing Polish there. It was named Lviv(Lvov) by ukrainians in early Middle Ages.

  • @coolcat1813

    the old city looks very polish, well because it was once poland. :D on the other hand, kiev, odessa, donezk, jekaterinoslaw (dnipropetrowsk) etc. were once russian, either reconstructed/modernised by russian rulers or established from scratch, serious question, what is ukraine? pls dont get me wrong, the state called ukraine has emerged as a independent state and all the dreamers and nostalgist should respect it, it is how it is now. the real threat to human kind is POLITICS in international context for the sake of economic advantages, power and influence. pure poison, until today

    In 1939 in Lwów Ukrainians were about 8-10% of people. 70% polish and rest jewish.
    It's not even close to call it ukrainian city when everything there is built by Poland and polish people.

    • @TheAmbrazura
      @TheAmbrazura 7 лет назад +5

      And the core city was surrounded by millions of Ukrainians. It was built as an Austrian city. Nothing there was built by Poland. Maybe something was built by local Poles, but nothing by Poland.

    • @fallout444
      @fallout444 9 лет назад +9

      IgorPetrovich96 Poland didnt gain western lands in return for Lwow and Wilno but as amends for German war crimes against Poland. We lost east Galicia and our eastern-northen territories without any reason, and it was a filthy crime. First comited by your grandfathers in the worst imaginable scenario, and then signed by Stalin. Kievan Rus was not ukraine

    • @IgorPetrovich96
      @IgorPetrovich96 9 лет назад +4

      Fallout Nowak Yes it was Ukraine as they did speak a language that i can fully undrstand, it just evolved in three different countries. Western Ukraine was always Kievan Rus and nlater on known as Ukraine. You Poles just settled there in our lands so it is more then just that this is our land. Deal with it. You werent even born when it was still occupied by Poland
