As I watch this video, I notice that eighteen people have given it a thumbs- down rating. Why? It's simply a walk around the capital city of a little-known European country. There's nothing political or controversial about it. What is there to dislike?

what ive noticed is that although Egypt and many other Arab and African nations have higher GDPs than Moldova. Moldova is still much cleaner and appealing to the eye

I was encouraged by watching your video! I was there in Chisinau in 2001 as a Christian missionary for a short time and the Moldovan people were really in a bad way. They look a little more prosperous and happy than when I was there, that warms my heart because I've always wanted to return but haven't been able to. Keep up the good work brother!
This is a very nice place to visit, no harassment from homeless people and no people standing on the side of the road with signs like homeless, lost job, hungry need help and all kinds of "bs" just to make others give them money. Moldova you're my ideal kind of place to live, peaceful, clean and friendly people.
First of all, cogratulations for the clear,steady images and the pace speed which enables us to share all the taste of the walk. It surprises me the people's education (no angry looks at someone filming) and also the relatively good condition of the streets, etc. considering the GDP of Moldavia is about ten times less than the average in Western Europe, and 4 times less than de GDP in Argentina (my country). For a country with GDP per capita of $1,712, the street scene seems to be much more organized and neat then it's expected to be. It is undoubtedly way comfortable than the streets in Egypt ($3,740), Nigeria ($2,640), India ($1,820). I wonder if Moldova didn't go through communism, whether today it would become a stagnant country like Portugal, Turkey or it would become a vibrant state like the Netherlands ?
without communism you wouldn't have all this not-too-bad infrastructure in moldova. the three countries you mentioned did not experience communism and they look much worse as you point out. free your brain from western cliches. china still contains a large number of communist/socialist policities and a small town looks better than this.

That means that the real GDP and SALARIES are bigger in Moldova that those indicated in Wikipedia or other sources. In 2020 the average official salary in Moldova is about 375 euros. There is a lot of black economy in Moldova.
