I was pissed off that this didn't win. Everyone kept saying that Slumdog had an "earthly" sound to it; unless the rocks were the ones singing; I couldn't even HEAR the music at all throughout "Slumdog Millionaire".
Oh you are SOOOOOO Right-how this lost to Slumdog is beyond me. So many, many Disney and Pixar movies have included stunning music, most of it either forgotten or ignored, because it was for a "cartoon" !
Why didn't WALL.E win?????? WHY????? C'mon poeple!!! WAKE UP!!!!! This is like the most awesome of all music!! WAKE UP ALL THOSE WHO VOTED OFF WALL.E!!!!
I AM THE BIGGEST FAN OF WALL-E AND ANDREW STANTON AND PETE DOCTER AND JOHN LASSETER AND EVERYBODY ELSE AND . . . ETC. EVE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And why the HELL did Wall-E not win Define Dancing, best sound mixing, or best original score? I can understand screenplay, but, really! Ben Burtt did a FREAKING AMAZING JOB! Actually, no. I am PIXAR'S biggest fan ever. (EVE is SOOOOOO cool and so is the soundtrack! Listen to it 24/7, and never get tired of it!)
Slumdog winning for music was at least SOMEWHAT understandable. I do love "Dreams on Fire", and it was cool that he did it with different instruments instead of the classical heavy-strings movie scores that we always hear. But SOUND MIXING. FREAKING SOUND MIXING. (or editing, I don't remember which one was Dark Knight and which was Slumdog) That's the one I'll never get over. This was the year I realized how little Academy Awards mean.
Yes, I did. It was a dream come true for me, to see Define Dancing up there. But I was crying and I wanted to see it but my eyes were blurry and I wanted to hear it but I couldn't with my sobs . . . it was hopeless. And so I looked it up here. But yeah, he did kind of look ticked.
I'm right with sirnikita, Wall-E also has a very veried and dynamic score beginning with a slight apocalyptic cold slow intro on earth (not Dolly XD) then a more childish track, and then comes a angerous part where the spaceship lands, i mean the score changes between every kind of mood, from calm to fast and bombastic i like Define Dancing but the Track Eve a bit more, and thats why i have mixed them together to a extended Track, so both would be in it without any clipping
I remember seeing this bit, it was great, the oscars this year were outstanding. I'm just annoyed that this score lost to the average Slumdog Millionare
this movie got so raped by Slumdog Millionaire. Every time I hear this I get goosebumps. Absolutely beautiful score. I wish someone would post the whole mix from the nominees. They did a really nice job of mixing.
